I have rooted and flashed my phone with XtreStoLite, Used Aroma Addon Package to install Smart Manager & S Health. Both application are saying "unfortunately *Application* has stopped". I have searched in this forum, the complete guide for XtreStoLite and other 3rd party forums. I can not find any information as to why this is doing it. Any information from you guys will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You also need the S health service part and the cleanmaster SDK for those to work.

Hello everyone,
I just installed CM12.1 (the latest snapshot available for Samsung Galaxy S5) and I'm unable to use the Gear Manager. I tried installing it from the Play Store as well as some linked APK's, but every time I launch it I get this error:
The operating system on your phone has been modified in an unauthorised way, and is not compatible with the Samsung Gear app. Check your operating system and try again.
This is a really ****ty error message - what in my OS exactly am I supposed to check
Anyway, after some googling I've been unable to find a solution. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Similar issue so < bump >
I know it isn't simply that I have rooted the phone, because when I go back to stock I root the stock lollipop and the Gear Manager still works, so it must be something in Knox or something Samsung specific that is missing from the CM ROMs
any advice would be appreciated
I recently purchased a S7 with Verizon and I created a Samsung account so I could download themes for my phone. I noticed after that two apps downloaded on their own, Samsung Smart Switch and Samsung Galaxy Apps. It won't let me disable them or uninstall them, did signing up with an account let them install apps without my permission? I'm not very happy as my phone has used up half its storage already and I don't have much on it.
Try rooting your device then install purify to delete system apps.

Hello,
I have a Gear s2 smartwatch and i was using it with my original TW (TouchWiz) Rom.
But You know TW is very heavy and battery eater rom like a monster.
So I was trying another lightweight roms like Resurrection Remix, Lineage OS etc.
But the Gear Manager app says met that “your phone's operating system has been changed in an unauthorized way…”
So i search and find this for fixing to work gear manager on other OS which is not TW.
First of all, I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards
Lets go:
After flashing a new rom to our device, gear manager says like that "your phone's operating system has been changed ..."
For Fixing This:
1- Install that 5 apps newest versions to your phone(normal way or Titanium backup)
Samsung Gear, Gear S Plugin, Samsung Accesory Service, SASytemProviders, Samsung Billing
2- Open your file Explorer which has root Access and find build.prob file in root\system directory. Backup it on your sdcard. Be careful while editing this file
3- Then open build.prob file and find all “samsung” words to “htc”
4- IMPORTANT NOTE: Dont change This section ro.telephony.ril_class:SamsungExynosRIL (just leave it original)
5- Save it and restart your Phone.
Thats all
Now open Gear manager app and connect to your watch.
Worked OS: Resurrection Remix 5.8.5, Lineage OS 14.1
I don't suppose you have the apks for these apps, or links? I'm currently having issues on my note 4 with Resurrection Remix 5.8.5. I installed some modded apks, but still having issues.
Thanks!
Doesnt work. app not compatible ... GalaxyS5 (S520-f)

I'm on AospExtended ROM and try this but nothing happened and Gear manager keep saying modified OS..
Hello again, i have a note 3 exynos version and Gear s2. Before i got the modified OS issue, then i edited the build.prob file and my problem solved.
Please read the instructions carrefully then edit the build.prob file. Most probably it will work.
And the last thing No need to say that "Your phone must be ROOTED"

Super great tip!!
FANTASTIC!!
Was about to ditch my Gear S3...
:good:
you guys could download the app i listed in dev section to make gear work on any device regardless of os and ram limitations
In case anybody has the same problem, this thread solved all of my issues. I have a Nexus 5 with lineage OS, and I could not get google play store to install the app. It didn't show up in play store on my phone, and online it said the app wasn't available for my device.
Fortunately [B @j to the 4n[/B] has made resigned versions of all three necessary apps (gear plugin, samsung health, samsung accessories) - and the Samsung Gear S3 is working flawlessly again.

Thank you very much @j to the 4n.
Dude..... You are a legend ???????????? it worked for me.
Hello Xda,

And when I push the "go to settings" button, it keep rejected to open the samsung billing app. I have download and install the samsung billing apk from sammobile but the problem still occur. I try to locate the samsung billing built in apk in the system folder, when I try to run it from the system folder it show warning page that the package is corrupt.
Any help will be appreciate. Thank you xda.
Phone info:
- Model: SM-G930FD
- Android ver: 7.0
- Baseband ver: G930FXXU2DRA9
- Not Rooted.
Try installing another version

Might need to enable secure startup in lockscreen & security then reboot the phone if you get a package conflict error
Install the APK again after that

Thank you for the attention. Already do as instructed but still cannot locate the samsung billing app, even in disabled apps and system app section too.
Still cannot purchase any app from the galaxy apps store.
Not able to 'Enable' Samsung Billing.
My Device: Samsung Note 9 (SM-N960F/DS) on Android 9 One UI
Baseband: N960FXXU2CRLT
Firstly, I'm not able to locate 'Samsung Billing' app (ver 5.0.18.0) anywhere on my phone.
When I want to purchase something on the Galaxy Store, it takes me to the 'App Info' section of Samsung Billing app and asks me to 'enable' the app. However, nothing happens when I touch on 'Enable' (though when I touch the Force Stop' button next to it, it works).
I've tried clearing cache, uninstalling & reinstalling updates, restarting phone, etc. but no use (even after soft reset).
Also, and annoyingly, the only way I can get to Samsung Billing (that too only 'app info' section) is only by trying to purchase something in the Galaxy Store, otherwise this app is untraceable.
Any fixes ??
Hey
I rooted my LG Nexus 5X yesterday and was able to install lineageOS and run it successfully. But today, I noticed that I am unable to get the Gear S2 to be paired with the phone in the morning. And when I tried in the evening, I uninstalled the Gear Wearable app(which isn't compatible with the device according to Play Store, but I tried an apk which installed in the morning) and tried reinstalling it with the same apk, but this time, it didn't get installed. I just keep getting "App not installed" when I try to install the apk with the inbuilt package installer.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Apoorv
So, getting the watch to work is going to involve editing the build.prop file. You will need a file editor(like Total Commander) and superuser permissions(Root). Edit all mentions of "LG" To "HTC".
You will also need to install the apps needed to support the watch via apks.
