I have the same VM XT1548 and copying and pasting the scripts on Motos website stated my phone could NOT be unlocked ...ideas or any other feedback or help would be appreciated! That was one of my reasons for selecting this particular phone as well

[Q] CDMA bootloader unlock on Boost Phones?

Just trying to find out if there are others out there that bought the Boost Mobile Moto G if you are able to unlock your bootloader through the Motorola site? If you did this, did you also root it afterwards and what method you used to root. Thanks!
Cheers.

Moto G Virgin bootloader Unlock

So my girl friend has a Moto G she loves but wants me to unlock so she can install theftie as well as other xposed modules like I have on my Nexus 5. Problem is when I went to unlock her bootloader today Motorola's site said she wasn't eligible for there unlock. Is there any other way to unlock a moto g's Bootloader? Her phone is with Virgin mobile and neither Bell or Virgin show in there list of supported devices!

Moto G LTE cricket unlock bootloader

I notice that the Moto G LTE from Cricket wont permit the Bootloader to be unlocked.
I am wondering, if you have your Cricket Moto G LTE unlocked (by this i mean sim unlock, not bootloader) and you then flash another carrier stock image - i.e. XT1040, etc - would it be possible to then unlock the bootloader? (I am assuming that if you flash XT1040 on XT1045 it's the same hardware, the only issue would be the radios..but if it's sim unlocked, then it shouldn't matter)
Or, is Motorola going by the IMEI #, which would stay the same if you flash another factory image?

Also interested in unlocking the Cricket Moto G LTE XT1045 bootloader as well.
Please update if you're able to get this to work.
Pretty sure the generated code is determined from the hardware. So flashing another ROM wouldn't change it.
That being said, I'm pretty sure Cricket versions of the Moto G LTE are never getting Lollipop. I spoke with a Cricket rep yesterday and they said the company had no plans to upgrade. So unless someone here can figure out some magical way to unlock the bootloader, we're all screwed.

I also talked to a Cricket rep yesterday about a Lollipop update. He said it was going to be a manufacturer, not carrier update. I asked him again to confirm because of what Motorola's site said. He confirmed again that it is based on what the manufacturer (Motorola) wants to do.

You can't flash ANYTHING with a locked bootloader. Cricket can update it, should they choose to, but as far as Motorola is concerned, Cricket owns the phone - not you. You can't unlock the bootloader unless you bought a RETAIL version of the phone - like I did from Amazon. You paid a lot less by buying the phone from Cricket and, in return, you gave up all right/hope of having an unlocked bootloader.
And, yes, everything goes by the IMEI, which is unique to the phone and never changes. If it were to change, your phone would no longer work on your carrier. The phone using that IMEI is registered as belonging to Cricket - that's why you can't unlock it on it the Motorola site. For the phone I bought at Amazon, I just went to the Motorola site and had my phone bootloader unlocked in five minutes. If you want a bootloader unlockable phone, you don't want to buy it from a carrier.
Update
I just spoke with Cricket who forwarded me to Motorola who said that my Moto G (1st Gen, LTE), purchased through Cricket, would be updated to 5.X within a month.
I'll try to update this if it actually happens. I didn't ask about the bootloader.

Nice necro but I was aware of that when I posted my response as I helped the Dev unlock all models of the Cricket Moto G bootloader; provided they weren't running an OS higher than 4.4.3.

No. Never flash different model firmware... you can root and flash a custom rom though
To be able to use the phone on a different carrier you would need to unlock it, the software doesn't change what networks it runs on.

If I root a custom rom will I have to unlock my phone again?

If it's not sim unlocked no. You need an unlock code which can be found on various sites and eBay.

It is unlocked at this current moment, but im not sure if flashing, say CM13 would require unlocking again? ( I bought this unlocked phone on ebay )

Moto E5 Supra/Plus Hannah Firmware

I seen a lot of people asking for the firmware for the cricket moto e5 plus/supra below is a link that will send you to the official firmware's and download to save you a lot of time and headache
There is also other pre pay carriers there also
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/hannah/official/Cricket/
if you need help flashing the firmware please look else where I'm only providing the direct links to the firmware's
Motorola E5 Supra/plus XT1924-6 (Hannah)
Just a little side note also if you have update your Moto e5 cruise or Moto e5 Supra and can now not receive mms go to your apn settings and reset I have to do this to customers phones that has taken this update
IDK if this will work for boost or metro but welcome to try of they even pushed a update that had this effect
But 100% works on cricket cruise and Supra

You might be able to flash if you are able to unlock your bootloader, which i believe you should be able to. 1 get your self adb and fastboot tools , along with moto drivers if you need them (windows). If i was you i would just taste out some roms instead, cricket and verizon firmware come with locks on em.
I myself am stuck i can no longer even get factory images to flash over in my phone fastboot responds with bootloader would downgrade so it flashboot fails. I have a recent zip from loli dated jan 30 2019 and current bootloader on my supra is from july 26 2018. Anybody else having problems with their supras?:crying:

no its possible that cricket blocked it. i'll try tomorrow... or later tonight/this morning. i haven't tried via Moto's unlock page... thanks
edit: after pasting the results of fastboot oem get_unlock_data into Moto's unlock page, i stand corrected. This device is not eligible for bootloader unlocking. Sorry all for the premature information. Thanks AeonFlux1603

I would assume you might have not followed the flashfile.xml in its complete form.
particularly:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
From my limited understanding that section flashes stock but also recovers the phones internal/protected/hidden identifier information into the appropriate areas to work with newly flashed stock images.
Mainly posting in hopes it helps someone, partially in hopes of clarification of my limited understanding. >
