Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/root-stump-root-lg-g3-sprint-verizon-t2850906
And read everything that the OP wrote in the first post. It's very easy. Bruteforce will happen if stump root doesn't know what device you have. Just follow instructions on that forum thread and on the screen when rooting. Good luck. Let us know if you're all set.
Thanks for all of your help i ended up google searching the stump root after my last post it only took about 5 minutes to do it. Thanks for all of your help now i just need to learn what to do with the root ?. Thanks again
I've already navigated through some threads but my situation is quite different. So i decided to root my lg g3 as my test device. I already own a galaxy s6 plus so my previous device is perfect for development. I have the lg g3 from Verizon wireless running on Android lollipop. I followed a thread here of how to root this variant specifically. I installed the specific drivers and the root itself. It was very easy and i was 100% rooted. However, after i installed the teamwin recovery with no problems at all. Phone was working fine until i made a full os backup before installing cyanogenmod. The problem is that right after i made my backup, i rebooted my phone and now its stuck in the lg security error. I know some people have the same problem, however, most of them got stuck on bootloader. My g3 was perfectly fine only until made my os backup. Any thoughts on what i might have done wrong? Thanks

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Verizon LG G3 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3 which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.
Good luck!

I have wanted to root my phone for a long time now and finally decided to try it. I attempted 3 days ago and have been trying ever since but nothing seems to work.
I've tried:
Kingo
Kingroot
Purpledrake
Towelroot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
I would try a classic root and actually wanted to do one more than a one click but I'm not the best when it comes to extracting files and all that file stuff.
If anybody could give me an *****EXTREMELY DETAILED ROOT GUIDE for an LG G3 T-MOBILE D851 LOLLIPOP 5.0.1***** PHONE I WOULD BE VERY, VERY HAPPY
(btw i know it voids you're warranty)
also if anyone could show me and equally detailed cyanogenmod 13 install guide i would be glad
thank you!
