Hey guys!
I own a Samsung Galaxy S Duos.
The issue is quite clear from the Title itself.
The connection to the wifi cuts off randomly without any warning and I have to restart the whole modem.
I have been facing this issue for quite sometime and here are the apparent soluiions I tried:
- Turning off the cell and restarting it.
-Turning off the wifi (on the cell) and turning it back on.
-Forgeting the network and connecting it back again.
-Resetting the cell.
- Re-flashing the stock firmware. (It was a clean re-install)
I have done all these and still the issue persists .
I am quite sure that its not the modem's problem because I have got a number of other devices connected simultaneously to the same modem and all of the devices are connected to it flawlessly.
I have been googling for this issue throughout and couldnt find any solutiom for this.... so someone please help me....
P.S My cell works fine with other wifi networks........ So far I havent had any issues with other wifi networks maybe because I havent connected to it long enough
Hi XDA Peeps,
I owned my Samsung Galaxy S3 (Shv e210k) for almost 2 years and i would say that it is a wonderful device (variant). However, last week I had problems with the wifi connectivity. The Wifi range became shorter and it doesn't connect with my secured router and even public, "it says saved, secured wpa" i kept on pressing connect but it doesn't connect. Unless if im 1 meter from my router and I have to press the WPA button of my router for it to identify my phone, also with a public wifi it does connect but it drops on certain time and reconnects again, I tried most of the thread here at xda such as:
- *#0011# method which I have disabled the power saving mode
- Factory reset my device
- Reflashing stock firmware
- forget network wifi and logging in again
Am I missing something here? What do you think is the problem with my shv e210k? And would you suggest any solution to this?
Thanks!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I would try asking your question here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/help-thread-galaxy-s3-question-t2690307 Although it's not specific to your device it does cover all of the S3 variants. Also see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3

Hello!
Yesterday I Installed the Application Pry-Fi (Pry-Fi Changes MAC-Addresses) on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005). The app worked great and did what its supposed to to.
When I went sleep I turned my Wifi off. The next Morning I wanted to turn my wifi back on but it doesnt work anymore. If I turn wifi ON the switch changes but doesent go green. After 10 to 20 seconds wifi turns back off. I'am Not able to search for wifi networks Anymore but I can my a Wifi Hotspot with my Phone. So I think that my WIFI Antenna/Chip isn,t broken.
I made a factory reset so I can use Wifi Again but It doesnt change. Wifi is not able to turn on!
What should I do the make the Wifi work Again??? Please HELP me!
Should I have to root my Phone again, install the app and try to fix it?
Sorry for my bad english
Regards and Thanks!
(SM-N9005, Android 4.4.2, Yesterday rooted - today unrooted, Pry-Fi installed via Google Play)
Hi there,

S3 wifi not working
I just purchased second-handed Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300 (international ver) to replace my old Samsung Galaxy Mini (GT-S5770). I purchased this cuz the price tag on one of local stores is just too tempting me to buy one, plus, giving me free true leather phone case! (though my target was Acer Liquid Z410, but not available on local stores and i dont know how to buy online as well)
The phone conditions, well, do have some minor scratches at the sides but the previous owner was middle-age man, and im not so picky with that detail.
The phone is great, well, except, the WiFi isnt in good condition in normal uses. (means, i can still uses them. details in below)
The S3 properties,
Android 4.3
International ver, GT-I9300
16 GB ver (which i found out some cases with unbootable S3, with 16GB ver only)
unroot
all related to network setting (includes mobile network, Bluetooth network, WiFi) is in default
The problem is, the WiFi.
The phone does detects WiFi hotspots or access points from far (in fact, it can detect my neighbour's home wifi even though is quite far, well, maybe around 20-30m, well, the signal was weak though).
SInce my home wifi is hidden, i pre-set the wifi. but, it wont even connect or even detect my wifi. My Internet TV with WiFI Direct do detected though (no internet connection since it wont host internet to devices who connect to the TV)
But, when i place my S3 like below 700cm range, my S3 detects my wifi and connects like normal devices. But when it get like further than 1m, the WiFi does not receives any data at all and after a while, the WiFi disconnected.
After i bought this phone, i hard factory reset my S3 (before reset, i didnt test WiFi and also from my uncle's advice cuz my phone seems a bit slow, well, he used to have S3). I didnt had a chance to test WiFi until i got home and tried to connect my WiFi.
I've tried many method i found online, (again, the WiFi only works if i put my S3 side by side with the access point/s)
Reboot router (I always reboot them cuz the router sometimes bugging) = not working.
Forget the network in S3 and preset. = not working
Tied with static IP address (connecting to my hidden network)(with google DNS) = not working
Enabled unhidden, open wifi profile on my router, try connect. = not working)
Connect to my TV's WIFi with WPA security = not working (tried to connect but just fails)
Tried *#0011#, Wifi, turn off power saving = not working
Things i havent tried,
reset again the S3
revert to factory firmware (actually, i tried but Kies 3 just wont work at all... it said that the device cannto be initiated or similar... so, the S3 didnt do anything)
using Odin to revert to stock factory rom
using Odin to update to unofficial kitkat rom
before im going to use Odin, which i dont ever done before, do you think that reset this phone to factory setting will fix this problem?

well, thank you. i will err.. repost the same thing in this thread on that section
My grandfather is using a Galaxy Trend Plus
However, it frequently disconnects from our local network provider (even though it still shows that it is connected) and it can only be fixed by toggling airplane mode or restarting
Is anyone experiencing similar issues?
Is there possibly any long term fix to this bug such as reflashing it's wifi/network drivers?
Btw by network I mean both 2G/3G connection (I'm actually not sure xD) and wifi

Hi, and thank you for using XDA Assist
Unfortunally there isn't a specific thread for your device, but the best way to get an answer is to ask over here > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
