Viper4Android for Samsung Note 5 N920C - Galaxy Note5 Themes and Apps

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if the Viper4Android sound mod could be ported for Galaxy Note5?
I tried the one in the Viper thread but it seems to break the in-call audio on my Note5 (N920C Dual Sim).
Any thoughts on this?
Its simply the best audio mod (Combined with MaxxAudio)
Thanks!:good:
UPDATE:
Thanks to 'Lo Xa' for pointing me to this link ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-note5/themes-apps/viper4android-note-5-t3192400 <--- (Install Viper4Android from here)
Follow the 'Steps' part of it ONLY and you will be good to go. (First 2 steps will be okay if you want Viper4Android only (without IRS))
Also, if you want to maximize your sound experience, top it up with MaxxAudio zip (attached). It will result in out of world experience. Try out and please post your experience/results.
Step to Install MaxxAudio.zip:
1. Install the Viper4Android and setup in the phone as shared in the above link.
2. Reboot to recovery.
3. Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
4. Install zip
5. Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache again
6. Reboot System
Enjoy heavenly sound! (Test your in-call functionality to be sure if its working. Its working for me in my N920C Dual)
Thanks and Credits to Original Teams who have created the Viper and MaxxAudio zip files.

Thanks, will give it a try and post the results. Hope nothing else breaks
Edit: Tried. Not working. Same results as before.
Any other suggestions please?

I use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-note5/themes-apps/viper4android-note-5-t3192400. Mine is 920C (1 sim only) and confirm it works. Don't forget to use Titanium and freeze Sound Alive 3.0. Hope it could help you! Good luck.

OP Updated for future folks

Here's What I did on my N920C
Config
* Arter97 Kernel
* Stock Odex Rom with Xposed V75
How I did
* Download Viper APK from the Viper Homepage
* Moved Viper FX Apk (4.4+ Version) to System/app using rootexplorer
* Reboot
* Install Driver as Requested by Viper, Reboot Again
* Open Viper and Enable Headset Master Power, All else untouched! (Why would I want viper to handle my phone speaker? I don't use it for music)
* UI Setting - Expert Mode / FX Compatible Mode - Compatible
* On Music Player - Disable UHQ Upscaler / Enable SoundAlive+ (Yes! Enabled)
* Reboot
Ops
Now, If I want UHQ, I just enable it from Music Player, and I disable Viper from Master Power
If I want to go with Viper, Enable from Master Power and re-disable UHQ. These changes work without reboot in realtime
Observations
I need UHQ Mode, because it's the best when you're listening to FLAC Tracks. But on MP3 Tracks, UHQ upscaler is poor. So whenever it's MP3, I use Viper. My Phone Calls are working, No Audio loss, and Best of both worlds (Viper and UHQ) are available. Also, Viper along with Soundalive+ enabled (not UHQ, The option below that) is a perfect combination. Increasing surround in viper just generates a pretty fake effect, whereby keeping viper surround at Effect level 1 and setting SoundAlive+ to On makes it more realistic.
Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for detailing out. It does help a lot. :good:

Does anyone know how to get Viper4android to work with system sounds? I like increasing the system volume. But it doesn't seem to register. Headphones do no worries.

Maxxaudio broke Viper sound on Spotify, now only works on poweramp, not in streaming services.
How to uninstall it?

Viper4.... (fix thanks Team Audax Rom) working perfectly on the note 5 (N920C) works on all players also spotify, Netflix, etc ...

Can you tell me what to do with the zip? Thanks.

If you're talking about the MaxxAudio zip file, it is already mentioned in the Steps of the OP.
For installation of Viper4Android, there is a link in the OP to another thread which explains its installation in detail.

Dude, it deleted my SoundAlive..
How can I get it back now? :'(
Can you at least confirm that it got deleted on your Note 5 as well?
And if so, we need someone to provide us the original SoundAlive now!

There is single Sony music app that can be pushed in to system using root explore or ES file manager if your phone is rooted but sound effects will be missing...here is a single installable app...but you have to push is in system if it fails to install.
Create a folder named Music in Device/System/app.... With right permissions for folder rwx r-x r-x and put the given apk in the link with permissions -rw-r--r-- and reboot.
For permissions in es file manager....long press on apk after pasting in system/app/music or for folder permissions long press on folder after selection click on more and here click on properties in properties you can set permissions.

Viper4android?

Is there anyway to get v4a working on nouget? I tired the method the the regular s7 forum but it didn't work.
Look for Viper4Android V2.3.4.0 here on XDA (the one that works without the Selinux permission and has a higher audio fidelity than the newer versions and has the better UI IMO) then flash that puppy. Check if it works and if not you have to Google "Viper4Android on nougat" and it will give you a bypass that has you erase a stock audio file that prevents Viper4Android from working. This wasn't the case for me since I didn't have that file. The version I speak of has Dolby audio; I erased that because it just added more static IMO. I had this with the dual audio mod for a while but it didn't seem to make a difference but add more static.
If this works for you, please update the main post with credit to those sources. If you also want some settings for some Fire Audiophile experience, please ask; I run heavy bass that doesn't drown out music and makes Beats sound way better.

Dual Speaker Sound Mod for G95xU/U1/W/0/08
Snapdragon S8/S8+ Pie, Oreo and Nougat
*NOTE: it is highly likely that this is compatible with more, most or all Qualcomm Snapdragon S8 and S8+ but NOT AT ALL compatible with Exynos. Of course test at your own risk
You and only you are responsible for the decisions you make when modifying your phone
* Dual Speaker Sound Mod install instructions and download link for Pie and Oreo (TWRP,Safestrap)
Pie/Oreo Dual Speaker Mod
To install just simply flash the zip in Safestrap (TWRP)
Alternatively you can download (I attached the file) flash into Safestrap (TWRP) mount system then use file manager to back up your original found in /system/vendor/etc by copying it to sdcard or renaming it to mixer_paths_tavil.bak (i already have mine saved so i just deleted it). Select the modded file you downloaded and copy it to /system/vendor/etc then select it again to change permissions (chmod) to 0644 and voila'

Pie/Oreo mixer_paths_tavil.xml
*Dual Speaker Sound Mod Install instructions and download link for Nougat (Root)
Flash Dual_Speaker_Mod_Nougat_G95XU.zip using TWRP, Safestrap or just use your favorite root file explorer to replace /system/etc/mixer_paths_tavil.xml with this modded one ***Important make sure permissions on the file are set 0644

The mod works best and is compatible with a lot of apps/mods especially stereo enabling apps as this mod only makes the phone dual speaker so it will will be mono dual speaker unless you have something installed that makes it surround sound stereo. JamesDSP, Dolby Atmos,
V4A ect.
*note to devs, you may include this mod in your ROM's without asking me first just make sure to give credits

Are you on nougat or oreo?
I should have noted that those mods only work with root and therefore only on Nougat (besides the two different versions of Dolby)
V4A only supports stereo with bluetooth, aux or usb audio output and not from phone speakers idk why
Dolby Atmos was adapted to be used on Nougat that is separate version from the s9 version that was ported for Oreo s8 (safestrap) but they both make stereo
If you are on oreo I'd suggest using Dolby port for stereo... it's basically the only option.
I'm on Oreo and have Dolby the only playstore app I use is Precise Volume but if you're on rooted nougat I'd explore root options
Thanks for the info. Im on Nougat. But its no big deal to me about not having stereo. Mono is better than nothing.

Yes just search for "earpiece" on the file.
I set it to a so-called highest "safe value" of 95 (stock is 84) but I've known someone that set it to 145 haha it's all up to you how loud you want to set it for just remember that the top speaker isn't the same as the bottom one but both have ghe same stock values and it isn't built to be super loud. With that being said, this is only my opinion, phones are meant to be used and replaced so why not use my phone and enjoy it. Adjust at your own risk. This mod won't make up for the S9/S9+/N9 speaker system but it is something at least and it does work in calls on "speaker" phone as well
<ctl name="RX0 Digital Volume" value="95"/>
Thanks man! Great mod.

[MOD] [S7/ S7 EDGE] [PIE ONLY] [Updated 11/04/19] Samsung Dolby Mode V2.5

The First Generic Dolby Mode For S7 / S7 Edge Roms [NOTE FE / NOTE 8]
this mode enables Samsung Dolby Atmos on your rom.
this mode is modifying config files such as floating_feature,xml, audio_effects_common.conf, audio_effects_sec.xml and build.prop in order to be compatible with all Note Fe Pie Port for S7.
How to install?
1. Flash zip.
2. Reboot your device.
Changelog:
Code:
[U]V1.0[/U]
initial release
[U]V1.5[/U]
1. fixed modifying scripts, should solve some props not changed in build.prop and floating_feature.xml
2. added Dolby Profile for games.
[U]2.0[/U]
1. Back to default Note Fe soundalive libs to ensure stability.
2. Added Dolby offload effect from S10, this is not another feature that can be enabled or disabled, it's just part of the Dolby sound system.
3. Workaround for mp3 songs not activating Dolby due to compress offload effect that is activated when playing mp3 songs, disabled effect in audio_policy.conf.
Now people who complained they don't hear effect changes when activating dolby will notice Dolby activates.
[U]2.5[/U]
1. fully reworked with newest Dolby Atmos libs from Note 10 rom, sound is now more crisp and more deeper.
2. added now two options for flashing: Note FE and Note 8 based ports.
enjoy!
short notice:
I assume some of you have had bad experience with latest Dolby Atmos Mode. Please try newest version released and post feedback, this version should solve your issues as audio drivers are back to stock now.

This isn't a rom, and installation procedure is written
I can't see dolby settings in soundalive and no quick launch icon.
With this mode do we have permanent dolby or should there be option to disable it?
edit: my build.prob file remains unchange. I made changes before flashing the custom ROM and changed NFE details with S7 Edge one. Script not changing them. I'll try to set values manually and try it.
last edit:
I had to set following values manually on build.prob:
"ro.product.model", "SM-N935F"
"ro.build.product", "gracerlte"
"ro.product.name", "gracerltexx"
"ro.product.device", "gracerlte"
I also add following lines to floating_feature.xml manually:
<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_AUDIO_SUPPORT_PSEUDO_DUAL_SPEAKER>TURE</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_AUDIO_SUPPORT_PSEUDO_DUAL_SPEAKER>
<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_MMFW_SUPPORT_DOLBY_AUDIO>TRUE</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_MMFW_SUPPORT_DOLBY_AUDIO>

Not sure why scripts didn't worked for those files for me.
Working great now. Thank you @MemAllocatoR

Tomorrow will upload new version with fixed script for build.prop, could you please make sure that lines are not added to floating_feature.xml? It should be at the very bottom of the file.

Dolby fix works great on my s7 flat, thanks. I also have s8 flat, stock ROM rooted with Magisk. Is there an easy way to add Dolby dual speakers support for my s8 without bootloop? Thanks

I'm on android pie and already have Dolby atmos, but only for headphones.
I presume it is related to this setting
<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_AUDIO_SUPPORT_PSEUDO_DUAL_SPEAKER>TURE</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_AUDIO_SUPPORT_PSEUDO_DUAL_SPEAKER>

Same here it sounds really bad compared to the stock sound (TeamExyKings Light ROM v6)
How do we remove it? Just flash the ZIP again?
