Hello,
I have the problem, that apps like Adblock Plus or Avast Mobile Security do not start automatically after booting the device.
Does anybody know the reason or what to do?
Thank you in advance.

Go into settings then Startup Manager and enable the apps you want to allow at startup. Then go to permissions manager and select the apps you want to trust.
Hi Horst
where did you buy your GEM-701L?
Thanks. Ralph

Sorry, I don't have the Startup Manager.
Look in GooglePlay for "PM Plus" from Huawei - it's the Permission- and Startup Manager you need.
I have no idea why it isn't as default on the X2
Hi everybody !!
Got my X2 701 today.
After bootloader unlock/recovery&root everything works like a charm, but one thing doesnt...and this is THE KILLER for me.. NO APPS ARE AUTOSTARTING AFTER a reboot.
I have also installed PM plus as I read here ,but no matter what I try.. no apps are autostarting

Flash it to a 703L B111. B111 fixed a lot of issues and I mean a LOT.
can I flash the 701 to a 703 without troubles/drawbacks ???

If you follow the guide you will be able to upgrade with no problems.
I spend the morning reading all there is about 701 to 703.. and its dangerous, and not 100% documented,so I dont dare to do that.
I restored the stock recovery on my 701,I removed su,I wiped the whole thing a few times, and no matter what I do... NO APPS ARE STARTING AFTER A REBOOT...
everything works like a charm,no fc,no errors at ALL,just... when I reboot/turn the thing on.. its loading googleplay/services/gmail/... whatever it came with, but NO 3rd party apps from the store are loading on boot.
I enabled ALL apps in the startup/permission manager... but still they wont load.
WHAT ELSE is there to check/click/switch/do ??(
---------- Post added at 10:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:47 AM ----------
I restored my X2 today ,so no SU/TWRP/... did a full wipe with stock recovery, still the same... I suspect, this isnt a bug... but more a feature.
No matter what I try.. NO APPS are autostarting...
(just the whole system crap like playstore/gmail/google services/bla blabla)
Cant be that Im the ONLY one with this (unsolvable ???) problem ?????
well.. turns out.. nothing is unsolveable.. besides curing human stupidity.. and NO.. Im not talking about myself
If you want an app to be 100% sure its loading when you turn on your phone or reboot it => you have to convert the app with Titanium Backup to a SYSTEM APP.
(so basically TiB just moves the .apk into system/app).
Be sure to reboot afterwards,as otherwise the app is gone from your launcher.
I tested this with 3 apps (afWALL+/allinONEgestures/wifiONoff) and all three NEVER started after a cold/warm/lukeWarm(re)BOOT,and after converting them with TiB,all 3 start now everytime.
so maybe I was/am the only one who was annoyed by this BOOTloadingBUG,but with this workaround its solved for me !

That explain a lot of the trouble I experienced with my X2 device.
And, yes, I agree with you about human stupidity (growing more and more around us).
Thanks for your explanation of this BUG !.

Hi there everyone,
Here is a solution, confirmed by Google Play Support, and does not require your phone to be rooted for solving this issue.
1. Tap Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
2. Go to "All"
3. Scroll down to "Google Play Store" and tap to select it.
4. Click on 'Force Close'
5. Click on 'Clear Data'
6. Click on 'Uninstall Updates'
7. now it is safe to click on 'continue' when u open the market..so go ahead.
8 Enjoy Installing/Updating your desired apps.

Here is what I did. I went to: phone settings> Applications> Manage Applications> All tab> clicked on gPlay Store> force stop> clear data> uninstall update> clear data.
Then, I installed gPlay 3.5.19..still it didn't work (this one didb;t even start to download at all). lol
Worst of all, everytime i run it..google is prompting to update it..and i cant bypass that stupid update..dafuq?!! =="
What should I do? aaarrgh!! @[email protected]
I had this problem. I installed the rom and then i restored data with recovery from an other rom. After that a couldnt install some programs. And i solved it with this. I installed the rom and then i installed titanium and i did the recovery with it. Then all was ok.

Now i only realized that google play will update itself. Sorry for this stupid statement but honestly say Play Store never start update by itself, never prompt me also in my phone...(Don't know what happen ><) and i every time update it using apk file downloaded from another website. Sorry can't help you on this
Would it because of my phone bloatware free and using broodkernel?

As we are not the only one who facing this strange problem so in my opinion i still think that the main issue came from the Play itself. Correct me if i'm wrong because i'm not expert in android. However, flashing a new rom might be a good try and hope that it solved the problem. Good Luck !
I do not have a custom rom on my phone, but i did have the same problems. Everytime i tried to update something i get error 403. Some ppl said turn off wifi go tot 3G and try again..

This didn't work too..i flashed rom from another region..then google prompted me to update (as usual)..and after the update, *poof* same nonsense got repeated.."stuck at download" *pfft*
@mrjraider, my mobile data works fine..but for google play, its the same case.
There is definitely something going on..i sent a complaint to Google Play Support for feedback/solutions. I searched, and it seems to be a common problem in there FAQ. lmao

why not you try find out some way to make it stop auto update like my phone
***i don't know what i have set...even i always flash my phone but still doesn't prompt me for update...so might link to the google account setting
I also tried this recently as suggested by many over the internet.
Open file explorer (need to be rooted), go to:
System> Framework> rename 'framework-res.apk' to 'framework-res.apk.bak' wait for a few FC's then rename it back to 'framework-res.apk'.
This will enable you to re-enter a google account into the system. Some say this worked, but for me it hasn't. Maybe this could work for you too..who knows. (sigh)
Anyways, I just re-flashed the whole rom again..lets hope it works now.
Edit: this is so ridiculous, google taking ages to reply. I did everything i could, even re-flashed the rom..and still nothin..dafuq?!! *sigh*
Ok, peepz..i found a temporary workaround for this problem..and it WORKS!! I hope that Google gets a fix for this nonsense..and FAST!! x(
Here is what I did:
1- go to app manager from settings,
2- uninstall the latest version of google play store
3- clear data and cache of google play store
4- install version Google Play Store v3.5.19
5- when you open the market, google will still prompt you to update to the latest version (dont continue, leave it as it is)
6- if you want to update/install the apps do it thru the browser in your phone/computer (it will straight away update in your phone)
Cheers!! ^_^
ok guys i also have send a complain to google, but when you send it they says they work from 8am to 6pm on those complains so we have to wait a little.
For now i have solved the problem by freezing MarketUpdate.apk via titanium backup pro. i think that probably a new update of google play will solve this, so any now and then i will de-frost google play and check!
ok now after a while it just started update by himslf.
in the meanwhile google support team answered me sayng that the problem is that my phone is rooted. so to unroot and do a hard reset! i ansqered that they are just crazy and that i found on an italian forum a person with everything stock and not rooted with the same problem so to do not bull**** me. also if i told them so in realy good manners
then i found another way t stop this and again, for now it is working. with es filemanager i have changed privilege of vending.apk from rw--rw--rw- to r--r--r--
for now it seems like not updating anymore!
what the hell is goin on with this damn google play?!?!? i have managed to preventi it from update yesteray until now, now i opened market to check a thing and it was updated!!! Someone managed to solve this????
EDIT

I seriously do not think that the problem is related to being rooted or using custom roms..dafuq?!!
So far, my workaround is working well..the only part which i dont like is everytime i have to install/update..i have be connected to the WiFi/data, and update/install manually from the browser in the device/computer.
Now google play website enables updating from the site itself (via "My Android Apps")..so its kinda convenient..but still suck!! xp
Still, am not satisfied with google's services..till now they havent replied any solution for the problem.
This works for me:
1º Install "Root Explorer" (you can use Blackmart or other alternative market)
2º Disable wifi and data
3º Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/Google Play: Unistall Updates
4º With Root Explorer: System/App/MarketUpdater.apk: change permissions to ONLY READ
It would work
EDIT: Sorry, it only work 5 minutes.

Deactivating an app? Pretty easy. Go to settings -> apps -> on to "all" tab -> find the downloader app -> select it -> freeze/deactivate or whatever says the up right button. Before you do that, force close the app (right next to the deactivation button) and after the deactivation, I suggest you to clean all the data of the app.

Hi there,
I reboot my Android phone and then check what is listed under Settings->Apps->Running: Show cached processes.
Can I assume that all apps listed there as "cached background process" have been started automatically after reboot?
Is there any other way to find out which apps install autoruns (or even disable those) on a non-rooted phone?
Thanks
Tom

No I did not change dpi .. maybe this is the reason ?
I rooted by installing TWRP then wiping data ( this is to get rid out the boot looping issue ) then flashed SuperSU.

May be you can consider flashing back the Stock ROM and have your VR installed first then do the rooting again.

Somehow i am glad to hear that i am not the only one with that Problem.
Did you play around with the dpi?
I read another thread on Oculus community forum... this issue occurred before even on other phones...
some says it could be coming from Oculus servers.
I tried to logcat the app ID 10072 that tried to read the DNS before displaying the network error.
also tried...
to fully reset the device
to run the app with/without Sim card,
with a VPN
deleting cache...
no luck so far
I read that the Facebook app has to be installed or enabled can someone confirm this ? and try to log in and launch the setup wizard ?
if don't have a Facebook account.

How do I turn on App Manager and Installer ?
To turn on the App Manager and Installer, tap on the "Settings" application, then "Applications" and finally "Application manager". Make sure you have chosen the "All" category and find the following applications:
com.facebook.appmanager (App Manager)
com.facebook.system (Installer)
Tap into each and make sure they are enabled.
Unable to find com.facebook.system
If you are on Android OS 6.0 (Marshmallow), com.facebook.system may not be visible. Please try the following steps:
1. Navigate to Settings
2. Tap on Application Manager
3. Tap the More menu in the upper right corner
4. Tap Show System Apps
5. This will make com.facebook.system visible and allow you to enable it.
The App Manager and the Installer must be enabled before Gear VR apps can be installed and updated on your mobile phone.

Root your phone, you will be able to uninstall it then. Otherwise, factory reset your phone, however, I doubt whether factory reset would work on this chap.
Mate, it is already rooted. And I can Uninstall it, but it comes back after few hours later. It came with factory state rom, so factory reset is not an solution.
I wanted to warn community about this malware also
Thanks for the info

I wish there was a custom rom for my device. Indeed it is an exotic device, couldn't find any custom rom.
This is really fishy, check out the attachment, now some how an app trying to install it self but android permissions prevent it. It pops up randomly during daily use, couldn't find the root of it.
If you know how to post a log file, please do
Or see google .It will be much easier for everyone to see exactly what is happening
Else you can try to root, and in superSU select the option "trust system app"
So you have to select each system app for it to get root permission
Select which one is doing this and bam! Uninstall.
But I recommend you make a backup

A guy on the Zoji Z7 thread says ads stop if you disable turbobattery & keyboard
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/zoji-z7-4g-smartphone-t3613364/page2
Edit try debloater to freeze app if not rooted, my links in this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/security/malware-disguised-app-how-to-remove-t3686283
No guarantee it will work, well act least rooting this phone is possible
I have this one to, and have the same problem. I have located the issue to the launcher. It seems that that's the one downloading the malware and installs it. I installed a firewall to block Internet access to it, and got rid of the problem. Unfortunately there's no way to freeze the launcher. I use another one anyway though.

Mate, it is already rooted. And I can Uninstall it, but it comes back after few hours later. It came with factory state rom, so factory reset is not an solution.
I wanted to warn community about this malware also

You have rooted Zoji Z6? How you do that, haven't found any rooting solution myself yet.

Don't delete it, disable it (if you can) then it won't be active & it shouldn't come back.
It may be a false positive or a new variant or even that some AV companies may not flag it if it's official app from manufacturer, despite it's behaviour. Check or submit it to virustotal & see who & how many AV companies flag it, make a decision, if you haven't already.
I have rooted my Z6, and removed almost every system app that is not crucial to the system. The malware still appears. It seems that it's embedded deep inside the system and the only option is to flash the entire firmware with someting else to get rid of it. What I know of, there is no AOSP for this device.
My conclusion? Never ever by a China developed mobile. This was my first one, and definitely my last.
More news
Hello. Before I talked about the same virus, but today I saw that the virus (before disable) has uninstall it self and it install 2 programs more called: com.apply.googlea.cation2 and com.apps.systom.sulots
I know that this is very rare.
I disable the 2 apps.
Any suggestion?
I can say, Chinese mtk devices are ground zero for this pservices malware. And yet it is very strange for me to first to mention this malware at xda quite possibly on the internet.
It is been a month almost but no real solution from known security companies. Only malwarebytes suggest to uninstall, and only malwarebytes catches it. And it is not a false positive believe me! This is new and real.
Best I can suggest is to disable pservices and install malwarebytes with real-time scan on also Netguard by M.Bokhorst to control what is communicating with internet.
Regards.
Edit : also forgot to mention all adups.fota update etc. any app with adups and fota name in it should be uninstalled, disabling doesn't work. That helps a little bit, but still keeps background com.
This is worst than we thougth.
Today i scan my mobile with malwarebytes an it found 2 versions of Guerrilla malware and 1 of Riskware.
I think PServices is evolving into many other virus.
I have a theory, I dont know if this is posible but here is. There are some filles that controls the status of PServices, If it is disable it ejecutates a backup from the cloud or something like this.
I dont know what this virus can do, but anything good.
In this moment Guerrilla is inside the microSD and I coud disable the riskware (Inside the sistem is colled FotaProvider)
This could be something big and dangerous.

I have the same Zoji Z6 phone and a similar problem regarding loads of adware and slow down. Is there any malware-free ROM out there yet for this phone ?
