I didn't know where to post this but, here we go

This is an italian youtube tech channel, basically here is described a pre-rooted device that is sold with pre-installed Xposed Framework and some of its modules. Then the system of this device comes with open source software like Open Camera, and also includes a paid app like Root Explorer. Also the home launcher resembles Nova. Is this legit or they asked permission for that?

Hey guys, i have bet you have heard by now the facebook home app. But like all good and cool apps there are limited phones available to use this app. Do you think we could port it for other phones? What do you think?
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda app-developers app
Honestly, I don't think it would be more difficult than to get a hold of the .apk, and transfer the file to a phone that isn't officially supported, and installing it... The Play Store restricts device compatibility based on developer's preferences, not actual compatibility
All things and apps should be downloaded by the same mobile only.
No matter of porting.
I'm not a Facebook junkie but I am curious and would like to try it out.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Yea I would try it bt wont keep it
It would b a hell lot of battery hogger like facebook integration on my xperia's Timescape...
Thanks to su privileges.... Timescape exists no more...
They're gonna give it officially to android. (I heard so), they are gonna make it as a launcher and it would be called "home".

Launcher is fine but now showing status update. Only my profile icon at the bottom. Pretty smooth...
Please port it to fit my Galaxy SII..
Thanks!
Hello everyone !!
I currently have a galaxy s7 edge. 1) This is my first Samsung device and I absolutely love it ! Its very sleek and sexy 2) My S7 Edge is also rooted !! This is my first time rooting my device. I admit I had some difficulty with rooting it because I'm not experienced but all is well. 3) DONT GET MAD but I came from using a jailbroken iPhone 6plus to Samsung
I just wanted to know, even though im rooted, why isn't there a lot of tweaks for this Device like the jailbroken community does? They have tweaks for a lot of things, like customizing, theming, tweaking Instagram. Tweaking and customizing The Phone and Notes app. I really don't like using 3rd party apps. Too much data and storage being used. I'm mainly just concerned with theming and customization. Seems like there's a little verity of that. Or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.
On Instagram you should look up the hash tag #myscreensoftheday and see what I'm talking about. Samsung has a lot to offer when its not rooted, but once rooted I can't seem to find any customization or tweaking apps especially for Instagram. Tweaking such as when reading a message, the other person doesn't see that you've read what you said. Stuff like that. BTW I only have xposed installed because I was told that's the best, but I haven't even found not one good thing in there personally for theming or tweaking. I did find Instagram themed but that doesn't even work
Hi, what you want to custimize? Your home screen. There are a few launcher you can custimize your home screen like: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycolorscreen.themer or this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buzzpia.aqua.launcher

IMO, after having many androids, S7 EDGE don't need that much tweak.
You could install XPOSED and install some modules like:
BootManager
Flat Style Bar Indiciators
MinMinGuard
Smart Network
Xinsta
XTouchWiz
YouTube AdAway
PlayTube Background Playback
For background i like Muzei app.
To make home button work with only touch use easyHome

Im highly aware of launchers. But I'm talking about customization in apps. Like this for an example, this is instagram for a jailbroken device. They were able to customize the background the color of the font and links. This tweak is called eclipse in cydia , the jailbreaking world.
Mind you this isnt my instagram so i had to block a few things out. Beside it is a screenshot of my unfinished screen im putting together. I mention that you can do a lot with android already when its not rooted, but once your rooted, there isn't much you can really do like jailbreak

My screen
Also, does anyone know how to change the indictors on the status bar? Besides the gray system ones? I would like for it to match my current icons. Another tweak a jailbroken device can achieve
update on my screen. mind you the status bar isnt real. im using 8-bit status bar. i just used picsart to add images on the status bar

Side-Loading BlinkFeed shouldn't be too difficult, but,if it were me,I'd look for something else:
BlinkFeed is powered by NewsRepublic, which is owned by CheetahMobile, the owners of the infamous crapware/snoopware CleanMaster.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...s-app-empire-buying-news-republic-57-million/
I was a huge fan of BlinkFeed until CheetahMobile stepped into the picture, haven't used it since......
EDIT:
Just a BTW:
Samsung devices also ship w/CheetahMobile crapware, under the name of "Device Maintenance":
http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...mobile-security-and-innovation-300043298.html
I'd at minimum get Package Disabler Pro to freeze/disable this crapware, short of full root/ROMs.

Look in your system apps &/or use a good file browser.
If you still can't see it,try one of the Package Disabler apps in the Google Play Store.
Or,if you want to see some screenshots of what I've disabled on my Note 4/Note5/Note 7,do a search of my posts & you'll stumble across the bloat-spyware.

Isn't FlipBoard a built-in Samsung app?
IIRC,it's just a swipe away on the stock Samsung Launcher...............

i tried the app list in settings, and es file explorer. not sure what im looking for.
didnt find any screenshots.
i disabled the samsung launcher a long time ago, it bogs down the phone.
blinkfeed launcher is pretty smooth. if i have to i'll give it up, its just really helpful for school/job.
Been thinking about this for a while, and my early attempts failed with no systemUI running after boot.
My early tests convinced me that somewhere in the ROM there's a check to see if the systemUI package is correct for MIUI, of not, it won't run it, but I'm not sure.
Why do I want this? Well, i don't really like MIUI, would much rather have the AOSP UI, and since it's simply an app running, it shouldn't be too hard to port over, thanks to the fact that most of Android is modular. I don't want to use a custom ROM (yet) since some of he MIUI features like one handed mode and quick ball are actually quite useful, I'd just rather have AOSP recents and quick settings.
It will be easier to use any AOSP theme. Maybe it wont change recents but overall look should be from stock android

There's AOSP themes out there, but none are really very good, and I've not really got much of an idea about how theming MIUI works, so won't be trying to create a theme.

im not sure thats the case here to be fair, systemUI only handles recents, status bar, quick settings (and notifications) and other core system UI elements, settings, for example is completely independent from systemUI, you can check this using an activity launcher, to see the activities systemUI can start, i can only assume its the framework app that needs changing too for this to work, since thats heavily related to systemUI, even then, there's no reason why systemUI shouldn't start, even if it doesn't work properly, since, im guessing its started by an init script on boot, not that ive found that yet of course.
