[Titanium Backup] Update.zip too large - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI,
I'm having trouble with my update.zip file, created with Titanium Backup. I created it on my old Oneplus One thinking this would help me send all my data to my new Oneplus One. However, the file is 2.4GB, so too large to flash it with TWRP. This is the only backup I made before losing my old Oneplus, so I'd really like to get my data back.
Does anyone know if there's a way to use this update.zip file and maybe modify it to make it smaller and flashable with TWRP ? Or maybe use another recovery that doesn't have the 2GB limit ?
Thanks a lot.

How to recover my clockwork backups

First, let me say that I am new at this (which will become very apparent). I renamed my clockwork backups so they could be easier to decipher (I kept the date but deleted the numbers at the end which I assume is the time) and when I tried to recover I received an error message saying MD5sum do not match. Is there a way to go in to that particular back-up file to find the original name so I can match it back and do a proper restore? Thanks in advance.
I'm afraid recovering the original name from the file itself won't be an option. You however can check if there is any logging from your backup software that contains the original name of the backupimage. Also you can rehash md5 and paste the checksum (hex) over the existing hash, is there some sort of recover file that calls the checksum ? If so, you need to overwrite the checksum there.
After reading the post above it looks like your f-ed.

There is a way around it that "sometimes" works. Its a long shot but better then no shot!
* Create a new backup (doesn't matter what off just do it)
* One you have created a new backup open to view the files in windows
* copy & replace the old backup files with the new ones
* Boot back into clockwork & try restoring with the new backup you just created.
Basicly what your doing is after making a new backup is replacing the files in the backup folder with the old files. This has worked a few times for me when I first started making back-ups & never realised that renaming it would be a bad idea.
Hope this helps you get your back-up back!

[Q] Extract backup created from recovery mode

So I've made a user backup from the stock recovery mode on Android, everytime I restore the backup my phone starts to main screen and then reboots thus creating a bootloop. So, I guess there are some files that corrupts the boot process in a way but I had a lot of information that I won't like to have lost. It is possible to extract information from this file just to get the important bits?
P.S.: the backup file extension is .backup. So far I've seen some tools who are able to open just .img backups and at this point I just got confused on this backup thing. My phone is a Motorola XT914 on stock Android 4.1.2

[Q] How to retrieve file from TWRP backup?

Hello! I (believe) I have invaluable audio recordings of my daughter within a TWRP backup, which I'm trying to retrieve.
I cannot reload this image because I upgraded my Note 3.0 to 5.0 and lost the custom recovery.
So, I was trying to get it through the TWRP backup itself. I read that I can rename the data.ext.win to .tar so as to be able to see the contents. I tried this; however, I keep getting a message that the zip is corrupt. I believe this is the case b/c my TWRP is made up of multiple .win, e.g. data.ext4.win000, data.ext4.win001, data.ext4.win002, data.ext4.win003, and data.ext4.win004. I renamed all of them in order and attempted to extract but extracting the last one. Zip went through the process of extracting them but then said it was corrupt.
I also read about IZArc, which Norton removed saying it is a heuristic virus. detection of a threat based on malware heuristics.
Thoughts?

Restore Squid (Papyrus) Notes from files

My phone recently died and I have to factory reset it. I managed to use TWRP to recover some of my data first which included the Squid files.
According to their website rooted users can backup the database file and the required pages but it doesn't mention restoring them. I've tried copying the files back to the Squid data folder but they don't show up. I've also tried editing a papyrus.bak file (it's a zip) and adding my database/pages but when trying to restore them using the app it says restore failed.
Any ideas how I can do this?
I've got slightly further now. I managed to get Squid to load the database file after copying the backed up files to the data file. When I load Squid it shows the correct number of notes but they're all blank.
Yay! I fixed it. Apart from one file but I'm happy with that. The database I was trying to restore was looking for one extra page which didn't copy across when I was wiping my phone. Loaded up SQLiteBrowser, removed the entry from there, inserted everything into the papyrus.bak file and it restored them. Yay
hello i have a problem i save my note from squid becfause i reinstalled my rom but when i want to restore papyrus.bak it say wait for restoring datyabase... but it don't restore i waited all the night and it stay in that message.... is there another way to restore my data thanks for the help...
its very not good becfause i writed my journal of what i do in the journay and so i lost 1 month of journal..... i'm sad.... but i have the cfomplete papyrus.bak file it make 66,7 mb when i open it in a text software there is lot of text but i don't know what it say xd
Did you make a manual backup of the papyrus.bak file? And that's not working when you try to restore it with Squid?
The papyrus.bak file is a zip file with a database and other files so you need to rename it to .zip if you want to open it.
Thank you very much i restored all with winrar i repaired the papyrus. Zip and with the .pages and root explorer i renamed the blank squid notes with the pages from the papyrus. Zip and i restored all my Diary its too cool and without you i never can do it thank you and have a good day!

Issue with redundant file system: sdcard/0/

Hi everybody,
Quite awhile ago while playing around with custom Roms and going from one version of android to another, something went wrong with my file system. I had a regular file system but upon one of the installs it ended up making sdcard/0/ then the rest of my file structure. What I mean to say is I have 2 sets of folders, one where the files were stored for app data and files from before (sdcard/Downloads) and now a new set of files where they are now saved (sdcard/0/downloads). This creates problems for apps that have specific file structures where it looks for files and doesn't specify the location like backup utilities.. Because now I can't find the old backup file because the /0/ version of it is empty and it doesn't mention where specifically its looking.
Anyways I'm planning on upgrading to 6.0 (currently on 4.4.3 or something very close). I want to rectify this situation even it means a 100% reset of my phone. Any tips?
Thanks
flash latest factory image will solve your issue. it is a common issue when you jump from LL to KK and viceversa.
