Hi there, I received a replacement Kindle Fire HDX 64 10.1 inch tablet. I have not allowed it to upgrade therefore if has the 14.3.2.1 OS. How do I root the device without being able to connect to the internet? Can ne one help me. I really want a rooted Kindle and have been reading so many posts that I am completely confused. I've never done root before and I don't want to get it wrong. I know that it must be backed up first but, I don't even know how to go about doing that. The Kindle I am using right now has the OS 4.5.5. From everything I've read, it is very complicated to root that version of Fire. If there is anyone who can guide me, or point me in the right direction, please, I would be eternally grateful. Thanks. Oh, BTW, the Kindle is 3rd generation.
Hi,
It seems that you already have a reply in the Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" General forum
Please continue with your questions there.
Good luck!

I was wondering If maybe There is a Way to get the settings menu similar to the ones found on all other android devices. I attempted to swap out the kindle settings file with one that I pulled from a pure android AVD but bricked my Kindle. I was wondering if someone with a bit more experience would be willing to answer my question or even help me figure it out when my new kindle shows up monday.
Anyone?
This is the only place I can go for help. I am willing to root and I have a rough idea of what im doing. Im not completely stupid.
You would likely get more responses by posting your question in the kindle forum.
Can the Nook Tablet use Kindle firmware? They have the same processor.
best place to ask that would be in the nook tablet forum
I can't use that forum yet because I don't have 10 posts yet.
Can you tell me? Please? >_>
actually you can use it. you just can't post in the dev section there.

I have been searching threads for the past two days on how to root my new kindle fire 2012, and all seem to have major bugs. Are there any jelly bean roms available that work decently??
also I am new to rooting and apparently the new kindle software is difficult to root, most threads ive been reading in the kindle fire section offer little help with most users talking about rooting older software (10.2.3) witch is information that does not help me.
Please if someone, anyone could send me a step by step guide to rooting this tablet i would be forever greatful, this tablet is way to limited for my daily uses and would like to get some decent applications on this device.
-thank you for all who took the time to read this i'm sorry if i am in the wrong section, or something
I was going to replace the LCD and digitizer on a kindle fire HD (gen 2) and I found that the replacement parts are not available. I had an idea to buy a used kindle then take the board, containing the SD, from the old kindle and put it in the new one. Will this work?
Thanks,
Adam
Hi!!
You would be best to post your question in the section for your device....found here...

Good luck!
Hey guys,
I bought the Amazon Fire 10hd (7th gen) a few days ago, but I was annoyed by the advertisements that always appear on the lock screen and the system itself too, because it's not like the other android systems on the normal android devices , That's why I wanted to change that .....
Anyway, I made the tablet "root" and wanted to install "TWRP" on it, so I can install new Android, but then the tablet stopped working and now the screen shows only the sign of Amazon ... Recovery work not too
I do not know what to do, maybe someone knows about it !?

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device and variant.
