M2 D2303 method should work.
Downgrade to KK, root it, install recovery, make pre rooted 5.1.1, zip flash it, run RIC disabler. Enjoy

Flash pre-rooted zip via recovery on rooted kk use v1.1 of PRFCreator beta version of supersu and t2u nut dual recovery. Works like a charm

It was bootlooping not allowing me to flash the install the rootitXperia...

Then start at the bottom with jb root with towelroot then just ota update to KK as long as you do nothing else(I.e. Update or install anything else) the ota updates will still work

I was able to root the kk version of d2403 LB by flashing d2303 kernel, install rootitxperia install.bash then towel root and then flashed back the original d2403 kk kernel and it worked perfectly...
After updating to Lollipop Android 5.1.1, i tried the same method and it didn't work...

Only way to get root on 5.1 LB is by flashing a pre-rooted zip via recovery on rooted kk there is no root xploit

Please ive created the lollipop flashable zip with PRFCREATOR...
Files added:
D2403 lollipop ftf
Superuser.zip
T2udualrecovery...
During creation with PRFCreator, I faced an error like:
Error: Could not find amss_fs_1
Error: Could not find amss_fs_2
I ignored those error and flashed the pre-rooted lollipop.zip via recovery on kk...
After the flashing it said "set_perm: some changes failed"
I ignored and tried to reboot and it came again "stock recovery must be installed" and it cannot be undone..."
I chose "No" and the device booted successfully...
After booting, I realised that the device wasn't rooted...
There's No ROOT...
No Recovery...
Please am I making any mistake...?

Then you've done something wrong, those two errors in the prf creator process are fine it'll still work.
Use version v1.1 PRFCREATOR
Which ever firmware you want to use
Beta version of supersu 2.47
Flashable version of nuts t2u dual recovery
Make pre-rooted zip and move to sdcard
Shutdown and enter recovery then
Wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache
Then Clean to install new rom still in recovery
Flash the pre-rooted zip DO NOT REBOOT YET
Still in recovery flash the supersu zip again then reboot(first one may take a while)
Go to Developer options in settings tick usb debugging
Flash AleksJ ric killer
Then using the pc installer version of nuts t2u dual recovery install the recovery again you should now have root and recovery on LB m2 5.1

I got the link from his NUT dual recovery thread in the Sony cross device section on here I used both versions one in the prf process and the installer version again afterwards just to make sure

Not had that problem. Download the NDR util app from the playstore and use it for entering recovery. I've not had any problems with it myself successfully made and restored back ups using both philz and TWRP only problem I came across is philz is sized for the t2u screen rather than the m2 one

The NDR Util installed automatically when i flashed the t2u in recovery...
But when i use it to boot into recovery, it boot normally...

First of all: you need to have an unlocked bootloader and make sure that the roms you are trying to install are fully compatible with your model, and each rom have a different install method so doesn't matter what recovery you have
You don't need to ask the same question in multiple threads either. Best advice would be to leave your phone alone add you obviously have no idea what your doing

I have no problem rooting Lollipop 5.1.1
my procedure
1. flash JB using flashtool
2. root then install recovery twrp or Philz or CWN
3. boot to recovery
*4 install zip on your customized rom.zip
*1. download prfcreator
*2. download orig firmware using flashtool
*3. install super su flashable zip
*4. create your own cutomized installer.zip
But once this process is done, are you able to boot into recovery?

no recovery was able to successfully install, but rooting is just simple.
i think in order for the Recovery twrp/Philz/CWN to worked on Stock Lollipop 5.1.1 ROM, we need to extract Sony Ric Killer/Disabler/Defeat for Lollipop. waiting for the latest upload.
I make it worked, customized flashable zip for Kit-Kat 4.4.4 Rooted + TWRP flashable +RIC disabler/defeat using PRFCreator, installed on Jelly Bean, TWRP recovery. after the restart, recovery remains.

I have a rooted and unlocked Sony Xperia D2303 (18.3.1.C.1.13).
The only way i could find to make a whole backup of my phone is to use a cwm recovery. The problem is i have one but its only cwm based and there is no backup and restore functionaly.
So can someone help me? What should i do?
