What? You asked a question and I answered it. I provided a link that clearly states what it is:
"Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) or UTRA TDD 1.28 mcps low chip rate (UTRA-TDD LCR) is an air interface found in UMTS mobile telecommunications networks in China as an alternative to W-CDMA..."

It's referring to a "Service Mode" in CHINA that is an alternative to W-CDMA. "TDS" is just the short version of "TD-SCDMA."
Ugh. I don't have enough "evens" to "can't" with you.

Therein lies the problem. That's what happens when you won't accept help when it's given to you. If you read the info I linked you to, you'd have your answer. In fact I've been reiterating the answer repeatedly in this thread.
I'm done.

I think he means the last thing you wrote lol. Which to me makes no sense either. I get the first post and the answer to it but that's irrelevant because I'm sure he means the part where you said " Ugh. I don't have enough " evens " to " cant " with you " lol. I wouldn't worry or get angry though. No need to rage quit here.
lol apparently i'm not the only one.
what the hell i cant "even" right now either.

I can only speak for myself but I didn't even notice his flag until you pointed it out. I want to apologize if my reply to the first reply seemed rude in any manner. I believe in judging people for who they are an not where there from or the color of their skin. This forum is for all and I hope we all agree with that.
this will save you a few seconds of googling.
An over simplification - they are two different technologies for mobile phones in the world i.e. infrastructure on the mobile providers side.
(1) CDMA -Code Division Multiple Access - e.g. largely used in the USA
(2) GSM - Global System for Mobiles based upon TDMA ( Time Division
Multiple Access) - e.g. largely used in Europe
I found the original answer to this funny but would have loved a simple answer - would have saved me 2 minutes googling

I think no need to put any sim
it is a matter of to configure ur sim card on the phone by defending the sim data on the phone.

I'm willing to overlook the fact that this made no sense because you refrained from using all caps.
Also, no. It won't work. The Evo PHYSICALLY LACKS == DOESN'T HAVE the required hardware to communicate with GSM radio towers.
In summary: No.
Why do I have feeling this was just plain lame attempt to promote that site?

Just on the slim chance you're serious...
1.) No
2.) It's a hardware issue first, then a software issue afterwards (if you really wanted to tear it apart, install your own GSM radio somehow, and then figure out a way for the software to read from it...). But if you knew how to do that, you probably wouldn't be asking this as you'd be way more skilled than most of us on here.
3.) No...IF there is a way to unlock it on it's existing hardware, it would only work with other CDMA carriers operating on the same frequency as sprint's bands.
I'm not exactly sure if this is the right place, but I'm going to give it a shot.
A friend of mine is from the UK, and has a BlackBerry. Now her Blackberry isn't available for Skype. I am trying to find a good VoIP/Skype alternative that is on both BlackBerry and Android.
I've tried TruPhone (Tru App), and it's complicating as hell and just isn't working.
Google Voice is available for both devices, but that's not what Google Voice is for.
Can't use Nimbuzz, because the last time she tried NimBuzz she had to bring her phone to the shop and get it repaired.
So if anyone can help figure this out, it would be much appreciated.

That's what I'm trying to steer away from.
I don't want to end up paying international charges, which will be a fortune.

THANK YOU!!! It's been driving me crazy that more people haven't been asking about this. I urge everybody to ask Google for weather using a US zip code and see if it replies "Currently Indiana". This just started for me in the last month or 2.. previously it accurately named the town or city. The weather info is still accurate, however. PLEASE, if anyone has an idea of why, I'm all ears!

I think I remember reading something about this kind of scenario.
Sometimes it's a routing thing, the location given could be a major hub that you're being routed through and it sees that as your location.

It is trying to say "Currently in 99999..." but it interprets the "in" as the state code for Indiana and so it speaks allowed, "Currently Indiana nine-nine-nine-nine-nine..."
