Unlocked/rooted nexus 6 stock no roms/kernals. Earlier today I went to flash the security update so I used nexus toolkit, and I noticed they had the preview for M so I just updated to that. It updated fine and I went to root the phone, only I guess you cant just use the toolkit to root any more because it wouldn't load, it said it was corrupted, so I just re-flashed back to the original update I was on 5.1.1 LMY48l. It installed but and ran through the optimizing apps, once it finished it rebooted and did it again. It kept rebooting and optimizing for a few hours. I read it could be a problem with the cache so I wiped it in recovery mode. Everywhere I read said to factory reset, the only problem is I forgot to backup and now I cant access the files through usb. Is there any was I can recover the files before I factory reset or am I just SOL? Thanks in advanced

Hi, I am COMPLETELY new at rooting, so please bear with me. I just rooted my nexus 4 a week back and got paranoid. Today, I installed a mod to change the recent apps format to android l. However, when i installed it using CWM, it successfully installed, but then got stuck in a bootloop. The phone wont connect to my computer by USB at all (USB debugging is on), so i cant delete the file that caused it from my computer. In CWM, i wiped all data/factory restored it, wiped all the cache (normal and dalvik), and it still wont boot up. Can someone please help- i need the easiest way possible, since im completely new, as I said. Not restoring to stock os would be preferable. Thanks.

I made an account to solve my problem here, therefore you guys would do me a HUGE favor if you solve my problem here..
I have a GT-I9505 that I bought 2 years ago and flashed the Lollipop 5.0.1 ROM via odin about a month ago, a few days later I rooted my phone via Kingo ROOT and everything was working fine but my date & time keeps changing to February 2014.
Two days ago I tried booting into Recovery Mode for the first time after rooting and I see that Android laying down with a red caution sign, I clicked on "reboot system now" and that's when my problem started. (it's not a custom recovery like TWRP, just the regular one)
As soon as I rebooted my phone I get a BLANK SCREEN with "Unfortunately, ........... has stopped", more like it was like this for all of my apps. I couldn't find a way to solve this but then I resorted to extracting my files and then factory resetting my phone, unfortunately I couldn't find a solution to access my phone until a miracle happened and made my phone working again. Everything went well till today when I tried rebooting into recovery mode but the SAME exact problem happened, what to do here? I have no problem of resetting my phone again but I don't want the same problem again.

I have an LG Optimus L90 D415. When i bought, came with kitkat and later updated to lollipop. First i rooted the phone. I made a backup of my recovery using flashify first, then i downloaded twrp successfully. I then gathered all my materials to flash a custom rom (the rom itself and google apps). I booted into my new custom recovery and made a backup of my current stock rom (both rom and recovery backed up on sd). I flashed cm11 to my phone and it worked, but there were MANY problems. The mobile antenae would turn off and on constantly and the camera app didnt even open, but wifi was fine. I got a notification on the phone saying that there was a cm11 update to nightly. I downloaded it, thinking it would solve the problems. Then, my phone rebooted into recovery to update. After it was done, booted normally into cm11. But then, it reset my phone and there were even more problems. i was back at the setup screen, wifi OR mobile data didnt work, there was no bluetooth, camera was not opening once again and the mobile antenae would turn off and on constantly like before. I rebooted my phone normally, and after it booted it was reset AGAIN. I was unable to go into recovery by holding vol down and power, it would go to the LG screen and reboot. Then guess what? RESET AGAIN! I was getting a little frustrated, so i tried to reboot recovery from terminal emulator. i went into storage, and it said internal storage was 128 mb, with 9mbs remaining. So i plugged my fone into the PC and installed drivers and ADB fast boot. I went into cmd and made it boot into recovery once again successfully. from recovery, i wiped my phone from cm and went to restore. My phone however, stopped at about half way and said RESTORE FAILED. At this point, i knew the phone was as good as garbage. but as a last resort, i plugged it in to the PC once again and went into download mode by holding volume up while plugging in the phone to the PC. i opened lg flash tool 2014. i wanted to see if i can flash the stock .kdz file i had of my phone. I pressed on read phone info and it gave me errors. it said IMEI Empty and other things like that. SO IS MY PHONE AS GOOD AS DEAD OR WHAT? SOMEONE PLEEEASSSE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally fixed it. Turns out the internal storage wasn't mounted. I had to mount it from recovery, then I restored. And boom, back to normal

Glad to hear that. Sorry for my late response.
Take care and do a backup before doing anything to your device.

Hi thanks for reading not sure if this is the correct place to post. I'm rather lost on my options and fear that I've essentially totaled my phone.
USB isn't recognized(yes I've updated drivers and confirmed my cord allows data transfer and tried with usb debugging on and off), this is a hand-me-down phone I received rooted, attempted to apply Cyanomod (successful but got the No SIM issue even though I could call and receive texts no data though) proceeded to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831898
However after installing the latest modem my phone went into soft brick - boot looping.
I then decided to wipe Cache - D.Cache - system - Data. After doing this over and over I accidentally wiped internal data as well (fixed this issue by buying a micro SD card today) So now I got all my .zips and roms back where I can still flash.
Still in a boot loop and have read that maybe my recovery (TWRP) could be the cause of this, seeing how I've basically wiped everything multiple times to try and get to the bottom of this.
Is there anyway I can use the Command Terminal IN TWRP to flash a newer version of TWRP ( because I had not used the latest TWRP )
If so can you please give me the command line in which I could use the .img of twrp-3.0.2-0-d2att.img and when going into the Command Terminal at what level should I select?
I really can NOT afford another phone atm and I'm very gracious for any help. I've watched and read many useless videos/articles over the last few days and can't seem to find a video that would involve not using a PC to use Odin.
P.S. - I'm also prepared to go back to stock everything if that's what's called for atm but first this boot loop is the issue. Thanks in advance.

I got a huge problem. After my phone updated to Marshmallow I lost root permissions. I looked up some tutorials to root it again. But every step I took just made things worse:
1. I booted my phone to TWRP v2.8.7.0 using adb/fastboot (bootloader still unlocked after last root)
2. I installed Super-SU, which was meant to root my device according to those instructions
3. I rebooted my phone (maaany times) realizing I can't really get back to my firmware.
4. Eventually I wiped phone's memory hoping it might help, however Huawei's emergency recovery failed to reinstall system.
5. Now I'm powering a plant, which can only boot into TWRP
Guys, I've never started a thread before, but right now I got no idea what's going on or what to do. I'll apreciate any clues. Thank You in advance.
