My original S6 with a March 27th build had some hardware issues so I unfortunately am in the process of migrating over all my data to my new S6 from AT&T, but unfortunately received a phone with build LRX22G.G920AUCU2AOF3, which I have discovered is unsupported by Ping Pong Root.
Is there a root out there that works for post May 12th builds or am I SOL with this new phone?

Hi all, I got the notification of a T-mob software update end of September 2017 for my T-mob LG Stylo 3 Plus, the TP450. It currently is sporting the Android 7.0 with April 1 security patch, Kernel version is 3.18.31 and the soft version is TP45010b.
I am not seeing anything about that update on the T-mobile site.
Questions please, if you know:
- is this just a security patch as I'm guessing or a more serious Android version update?
- More importantly for now: if I go ahead and do it, will I lose all my apps etc? IOW does the phone reset to "stock" status with that update?
TIA
E
Just update with LG Bridge. You can regain root, either with SuperSU or Magisk, afterwards.
sorry if I wasn't clear. The phone is not rooted, for now, has stock recovery etc, and I need to keep it that way for a while. (edited OP for clarity)
well, since there was no reply about updating the stock phone, I took a chance and did the update, and if you are interested, it did NOT reset the phone. All my apps and their settings are still there apparently.
Good to know.
IT is now Soft v. TP450c . Sec patch is dated Aug 1 2017. Still Android 7.0 and Kernel 3.18.31

As a rule, a software update on a stock phone does not reset the system. Could you imagine the outrage if it wiped everything every time your phone updated? Even during a major version update it may. be recommended to factory reset, the manufacturer doesn't do that. They want you to keep using them and their phone and don't want to make it harder for you than necessary so you dont try another carrier or manufacturer.
Can anybody tell me what is the latest build for the unlock UK S8 Plus please?
Current build number is: G955FXXU1AQI7 with security patch of 1 August 2017.
My dad's S7 have security patch of October 2107.
Seems strange that last year's phone have a more recent security update than the latest phone.
I had a software update notification earlier this week, but did not take a screenshot. It was around 400mb and listed something about fix for wireless charging and update to lasted security patch. However, after updating still on the above build number.
Many thanks
I just went back to Superman V3 to get Wifi calling working again on my Unlocked S7 since im changing carriers to tmobile.
On stock, this phone still gets a ton of updates since its international
The issue is that the Android Security Patch for this rom is From July 1, 2018
Is having a security patch from last july,is this even an Issue?
Is there some method of flashing Security Patches on Samsung Devices that of course are rooted/romd?
Any other suggestions?

Yes you can

There was a new build ending in 720. Does anyone know the changes?

According to Amazon:
"This free software update includes general improvements and performance enhancements."
This has been out for a few months now.
We have 2 HD8 7th Gens in the house. One got the update on June 7, and the other got it on June 13. Both now up to 5.6.4.0. Previously on 5.6.3.0 (which was erroneously showing as 5.3.6.4).
Probably the only change was getting the OS point numbers back in the right order.

I wonder if Dr fone are using mtk-su? mtk-su is better than using rooting apps as it doesn't install any unwanted crap.
Got this phone on eBay a few weeks ago. I love it but when I set it up, it thinks it has the latest updates.

Android version 9, Security patch level December 1, 2018
Software version is Q910UM25a
Using a Koodo sim. Tried a Fido one too. Same thing.
Tried the LG Mobile Support tool, get a message saying "Your device has the latest software available from the LG Mobile Support Tool.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Normal versions are Q910UM20x not 25. Usually LG name 25,29,28 beta firmwares. You need flash 20 full(full OTA) firmware. But where find fullflash i dont know.
I seem to be in the same boat. Picked up two of these previous display model devices.
One is running Q910UM11c (Android 8.1.0, September 2018 patch level) and prompting for an update to 25a, the other is already running 25a.
I'll attempt to capture the OTA on the one still running 11c. I doubt it will help, but it can't hurt.
EDIT: I'll include the build build numbers here just in case they're useful for anything.
Q910UM11c, build OPM1.171019.026
Q910UM25a, build PKQ1.180904.001

Same boat, mate! I on Q910UM25a, build PKQ1.180904.001 with Dec 2018 security patch. Wish I could find a way to move to regular build. But information is almost non-existent on this device.
