Hello XDA,
I have searched Google and XDA, but have not been able to find a media player that has a widget with a scrubber/seekbar on it. I have been through 90% of the media players on the Store and have found only 2 widgets that come close. One had a pop up (slide from bottom of screen) containing media info and scrubber, and the other had only a play progress bar on it (no scrubbing function).
To clarify, I am looking for a home screen widget that has scrubber/seekbar functionality, not a lockscreen media player interface.
Is there a functional reason why no one has developed/released this or am I just not searching correctly for this functionality?
I appreciate any assistance in resolving this.

Was wondering if it's possible to download an app to play music other than the stock media player. If so, does anybody have any recommendations for a good one?
Yes. Try cubed (cool interface) or mixzing(lock screen widget).

I use doubletwist. I tried mixzing (love the possibility to get recommendations) but it shows all my compilation CDs as individual albums on the Album screen. Their only solution is to move all the songs to its own folder. Don't want to rearrange my library.
I have actually gone back to the stock music player as it actually indexes my playlists correctly. I am syncing my library using iSyncr and it seems all other music apps except the stock and doubletwist pull up multiple coppies of all my playlists with all but one of them empty.
I really liked doubletwists look and feel, but at the time the lack of a lock widget was a dealbreaker (not sure if they have added one yet). the biggest drawback with the stock app IMO is the inability to go forward and back tracks via the headset controls. But it seems even the apps that do have this still are flakey with the controls.
A friend bought bTunes and that also looks very nice and has the lock screen widget, but still has the playlist issue.
I want a music player that has a song database, an interface like the Google music app, and shows embedded lyrics. Astro is close but I can't find any skins that are close plus its a very clunky interface. Basically I just want the cover art on one side of the screen and the lyrics on the other. I'm hoping there is one that I haven't tried yet. Thanks in advance for any input.

How do I add one on htc's music player? Google's music player has it by default so I'm quite used to using it.
Well if your trying to add a playlist just open the listen app and get to the screen with the multiple icons at the bottom. (since i use it so much it opens to a song) but all you have to do is scroll over to playlist and click the plus (+) icon. I can't really help you with removing the google player because it might reset your home screens back to defult
With music streaming app like Tidal, there is no way to play next on lockscreen. The widget just doesnt' show up like stock player does. Is there any way to fix this? Your workaround is much appreciated. Thanks.
Got the same problem with Spotify. I noticed that the version B152 shows the widget. The updates after B152 doesn't show it anymore..

The same happens to me with Beyondpod and PocketCast podcasts apps, and with Eleven music app.
But lockscreen controls appears with Google Music App.
I do not understand, it so hard to make all programs can have their lockscreen controls in Huawei Emui??
I hope some solution comes in form of a flashable zip or else.

I've recently migrated to an Honor 8 phone which is using a MUI variant of Android OS.
My Media Utilities Widget - which was the most heavily used part of my phone - is no longer working properly.
The widget sets up fine, the MU button opens the Media Utilities drawer I see all the media apps I've added there, So far so good.
When I play any media, the widget displays the correct art ...and that is it.
The media app button doesn't change from a blue question mark button
Both the buttons lead back to the media utilities drawer when the app buttons should show and lead back to the playing app.
the control buttons show up but do not control the current media player
tapping the album art just leads back to the media utilities drawer.
The controls in the notification drawer work fine for whatever app is playing.
I've deleted and set up the widget many times with multiple settings but no change.
Jack's Music Widget is less functional - it doesn't lead back to a drawer / Menu of installed media apps. I tried it any way.
It has even less functionality.
It will display whatever is playing when the widget is set up but never change after that.
None of the controls work at all.
Any idea what is the problem?
Anyone having the same experience?
Any suggestions for a widget that can control multiple media apps? Local music player, Google Play Music, Spotify, Stitcher, etc.
