vI accidently flashed the TWRP recovery image to my kernel and ever since then my g3 been stuck in this awful boot loop that won't even pass the LG logo.
I've been looking to find different ways to successfully unbrick my g3 and I keep running into the LG Flash Tool. I downloaded it but I cant seem use it because I don't have the .KDZ file appropriate for my phone.
if anyone knows of a different method of unbricking my phone please help, or if you know where I can find the .kdz file appropriate for the D850

I'd suggest you follow the actual guide.. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089 ... If you follow it you'll see there is two different methods and that the D850 AT&T version is TOT method only and in which you download the zip, extract it and flash it.

You're right. I didnt see that first time but have tried that method prior to moving on to the .kdz one. The reason why i did so was because the LG FLASH TOOL would stop working. Im not sure if its because im on windows 10 or what.

Windows 10 can cause issues. But if you have the D850. Tot is the only way.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i was able to flash via LG flash tool TOT method fine no more then an hour ago running windows 10. Keep in mind like that OP says "it could take up to 45 mins".. although i flashed successfully it did take near that amount of time.. GL
First things first, can you go into download mode or not? If the answer is yes, then you have to tell where exactly does the Flashtool stop? Because the only method with d850 is tot method. Did you connect it on port 41 or not? If yes, have you provided it with proper tot file and dll? If yes, then Does the flashtool stop at ~ 6% where it says it cannot recognize your phone model, or @ ~ 13%, where it says it cannot go into download mode? You have to be more specific in describing your problem. If the answer is no to the first question, then how does windows recognize your phone? Is it connected as Android Device, or QDLoader 9008, or QHSUSB_BULK?
In my view, if you have just messed with the kernel (boot) partition, you should still be able to go to download mode and flash the correct firmware by following the tot procedure detailed by hyelton.
stops at 6%(cant change to download mode)

bring it to service centre
If you're inclined to fix it yourself, read thru this thread and see if it helps. Post back here in case you got any question.
If still under warranty, I'd advise to go to a service center.

you flashed other phone pit file, so your partition screw up already.
since you can still go to download mode(if i not read wrong), flash xxkpe with pit(in the same odin season)
flash custome kernel wouldnt help you.

thats it, if you connect via Odin, it recognize yor phone and you ve got all the things needed to reflash, there shouldn t be any problems, but be sure that you ve got all the correct files, for your phone model, and your bandbase, and take it easy, just nsearch the info, reed a lot and in a few minutes you ll have your phone alive again.
(if you are into the 2 year warranty then take it to the technical service)

Ok... alrighty... so.. AT&T H810 10O is "V2"
H810 10A was V0. then there was 10E and 10G which were V1.
I saw mention of a 10l but I have no idea about that at all. could be V1.. or could be V2. haven't seen the files for that. anyway.. doesn't matter. forget about 10l
H810PR KDZ's were all V1.
basically unless you are on 10A and holding out for a bootloader exploit on V0... this TOT is completely safe to use regardless of what current version you are on. For example, you could be on 10g (V1) and still flash this TOT safely.. it would just increase the qfuse from V1 to V2.
V2 is no more locked down than V1... so there's no worry about losing your current v1 and no need to stay on 10E or 10G. 10A V0 is the only version worth holding onto.
Of course "V3" may come with android M... but too early to say one way or another on that. if M is indeed V3.. then anyone that upgraded to M could no longer flash this TOT. Hopefully the USA carriers knock it off with increasing the qfuse versions tho and it stops at v2. I will edit the previous sentence after Android 6.0 M comes out for H810 to confirm.
H810PR info: If there is an AT&T user who previously flashed H810PR KDZ to unbrick.. they should be safe flashing this 10o TOT if they want to get back into AT&T land.. hopefully fixing their green camera issue. H810PR users who have an original H810PR (not a converted att h810) should NOT use this TOT as it will increase your qfuse from V1 to V2 and you'll be stuck with AT&T software... plus there's just no point in using it since H810PR has official KDZs.
so.. summary. 10o is v2. everyone on an AT&T H810 can flash this safely without fear of bricking.. as there is no higher qfuse version yet. AT&T H810 users who "converted" to H810PR can safely flash the TOT. Original H810PR users should avoid flashing this TOT as they'll get stuck on V2 AT&T software. The only other users who should maybe try not using it are those on 10A V0 who are holding out for bootloader unlock.

Have you Tested this on an H810, or did someone just donate the .tot file? Would this also restore the /persist partition removing the RCTD flags?
[edit] updated Question to something that makes sense.

Will this upgrade from an earlier version say 10g or 10i?

Yes, you can use this on any Previous version. If you are on 10A you might want to hold off since this is the only version with qfuse V0, otherwise you are safe to use.

only the .tot file not the DLL
So unless someone has the DLL file, it will need to be bought. I found it but sadly the site charges $20 for it. If I had the extra I'd buy it and rehost it. (if its legit anyway)
EDIT: Try this! http://oceanhost.eu/jvoa0qy97tkf/LGUP_8974.dll.htm let me know if it works, if so I'll add it to the OP Thanks.

So I've got my phone in a boot loop. No idea why. It just happened out of the blue.
Tried following instructions here, the flash tool stops working midway when the phone tries to reboot, and is unable to reconnect. Flashtool shows the error "We can't communicate with your phone"
First time, the progress percentage was at 44%. The next time, it was 25% before the phone reboot, and got stuck. Next time it was 49%.
Any help would be appreciated. :3

After getting back to stock o, phone isn't seeing any update available for 2 days. Has anyone else been able to take the ota update?
I bought a LG G2 d802 from ebay.
Everything seemed to work as should until i tried to upgrade software though PC Suite.
Phone updated and acted erratic with the touchscreen and god knows what else.
So i started digging on xda and found out that in the backcover of my phone it says d800 so i flashed a d800 tot (hex edited file) and i hardbricked it.
When i finally restored it i went further down to the mainboard and saw that my phone is actually a d801.
Now when i flash (through tot or kdz) d801 and d800 roms my phone hardbricks (somethimes in fast boot sometimes in "bulk" mode).
But when i flash a d802 rom it installs and boots normally but when it opens up i have the same issue with the touch.
Any ideas would be welcome as i spent 2 fully days flashing and restoring this thing

hi i am on the same cuest as you are. i faced this once and got victorious after 5 long days. back then i had a moto g wich i changed for a lg g2 with touch problems. after flashing multiple 802 roms i opened the phone and find out that the phone was in fact a D800 ATT. i fought a lon fight trying to fix it and after five days and almost killing the phone and giving up.. i did it. that g2 is now my wifes phone. wich she loves.
now ive traded a galaxy s3 for another G2 with the same problem. i was for sure thinking that this was also a d800. both phones have D802 back covers like yours and software too. when i opened this one results that it is a D801 TMOBILE. i had it for a day now. i managed to rooted and to intall a recovery. im not completly sure what to do now. im searching for a d801 to flash on the d802 software. so far no luck. i readed that with the correct kernel the screen problem will be gone. im being more careful this time beacuse i dont want to have to kill this phone too just to recover it after. i want to do it more clean and quick this time.
I'm away right now.
Will post how i solved it when i get home

aaah. well, that is good. ill wait to see how yo did it.
http://androidforums.com/threads/bricking-and-unbricking-fake-lg-g2-d802-bought-on-ebay.952680/
Use this guide.
I entered fastboot and unbricked it using srk tool and the 10v tot files.
Then i updated using flashtool as normal and now it is d801 as normal.
Keep me posted i might be able to help you further.

Remove the buttons plate and see under the motherboard the actuall number of your phone like in my picture.
Only then you can be sure of your actuall model.
that is more or less what ive did the first time with my wifes d800 (faked as a D802). that was several months ago and i cant remember everything. i do remember that i just had fastboot in that moment and using repartition table i were able to fix it.
now, this is a D801 like yours, mine boots entirely with its D802 rom just with the screen touch hardly usable. i got it rooted. im able to use adb, download mode and everything. what you suggest me to do?
I had the exact behavior.
What i did and worked was to get to fastboot mode and flash the files that mentioned in my previous post.
Now for me to get to fastboot was the tricky part.
I had to fully brick the device to get to it.
Sent from my LG-E980
ok, i was hoping to find another way. well... i have it on lollipop and have a D801 lollipop kdz. can i use its extracted files instead of the tot files ones? because the TOT is around 2.2 gigs and trying to extract the zip file i found and error. it says that it is a unknown format or is damaged. i ask because i have a poor connection and the wait to download it again is long.
another cuestion, did you format partition before flashing the parts?
ok i screw it. i was flashing recovery and rebooted into fastboot mode. PC was showing QHSUSB bulk... with a lot of external devices. now is showing marshal london HS-USB diagnostics 9006 (COM 5) and the same lot of external devices. i guess this is the moment to use TOT extracted files? or can i use the kdz ones? do i have to repartition?
sorry to bother.
i was flashing partition using fastboot, i got a problem writing 'primaryGPT'... FAILED (remote: partition table doesn´t exist) i see that on the link you gave the guy mentions something about primaryGPT. but i dont know how to get pass from this point..
For me only using the v10 tot extracted partitions and replacing the files in the srk tool worked.
Search for srk tool here on xda.
Try to restore your fastboot mode and then flash the above.
The tool is self explanatory.
Good luck
Sent from my LG-E980
hi, i have the srk tool. im going to try restoring my fastboot but i dont know how. wich file do i have to replace in the srk tool?
Follow the instructions on how to restore via fastboot mode.
You have to extract the tot file first.
Google it on how to.
It is not a very easy procedure but once you get used to it you will figure it out.
Sent from my LG-E980
the thing is that now i lost fastboot. the phone doesnt do more than turning off and on the screen.
When you connect it to the pc it shows too many empty drives that need formating?

yes, 12 of them
This is the qbulk mode(or something like that) find the repair option for it in the tool to enable fastboot.

For some reason OTA updates were no longer possible on my Nokia 8 (must have messed up something when rooting it) so I bit the bullet and decided to flash it back to Stock...except it was a real jungle of bits and pieces in several threads and it took me hours and a lot of worrying so I thought it would be useful to start an actual guide on how to do it exactly, here it is, any question I'll try to help. Remember though that these are the steps that worked for me on my TA-1052 and even though the method should be the same on all versions it might not work on yours. At the end of the day YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE responsible for any changes you make to your phone
Restore Nokia 8 back to stock :
Prerequisites :
- Bootloader Unlocked https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-8/how-to/nokia-8-official-bootloader-unlock-t3847683 and Critical Unlocked (#5 here https://www.techmesto.com/guide-unlock-bootloader-nokia-android-phones/)
- Download OST LA 6.04 and Nokia OST patch from : https://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-nokia-online-service-tool-ost/
- install by clicking on launcher.exe
- replace OnlineUpdateTool.exe by patch in install directory
- delete OnlineUpdateTool.exe.config in install directory
- Download NB1-488B-0-00WW-B04.nb0 (Oreo from June) from https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1t64iHuQQjmMnzcujZtjYplh6ipbiF6Cw
- Use method here to unpack and modify firmware : https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/how-to/workaround-flashing-oreo-firmware-t3793791
Flashing :
- Start phone in download mode (Phone off : keep volume down pressed and connect to computer)
- Launch OST LA 6.04 by double-clicking on OnlineUpdateTool.exe
- Select NB1-488B-0-00WW-B04.mlf
- Next is greyed out, click on "Edit Phone Information", you will get an error message after a while, clik on OK, now Next is active
- That's it, things should progress quickly with a few reboots in the process.
Rooting : I've tested that using the method here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77751877&postcount=2 to root while keeping the ability to do OTA updates works properly if you follow the steps, including to perform an OTA update.
Great work! It really works! Thank you. But now we have another one issue: an official TWRP does not boot (bootloader and critical are unlocked) with Okt. and Nov. SP, it stucks on "Powered by Android". So may be you know how to make it bootable?

Since September you cannot boot. You have to flash patched image.

Glad it helped !
You don't need TWRP to root the Nokia 8, you can use a pre-rooted boot image with this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...ability-to-t3848390/post78171178#post78171178

I dont need TWRP for Rooting but it needed for backup/restore/install - exactly what I need for flashing OpenGapps for example. To make a backup, flash gapps and restore system to previous state if needed.

In this post in Official TWRP topic you find boot IMG with TWRP on @THMSP cloud. Simply flash it to the active slot. There is even one with custom kernel.

And I must make the same modification with notepad++ for the .mlf file as that guide tells? I'm was just wondering as that guide was for nokia 7...Just want to be sure. Damn this phone reminds me of the early android years when rooting was not a walk in a park.
Yes same modification of the mlf, any changes to instructions in the links are noted in the steps in the first post.
Somebody tried this method with the phone bootloader locked?
Or the phone has to be unlocked first?

Dunno but if your bootloader hasn't been unlocked you can't have done any "damage" to the partitions/boot ilahe, etc...? A classic factory reset would do the trick to go back to stock.
Thanks webvan!
This really works! I have a TA-1004. Was stuck but with this method I managed to go back to stock and then it started updating as it should.
The single information I was missing, and the cause the OST (6.0.4) didn't work for me was that the phone had to be critical unlocked. It's not enough to just simply unlock the bootloader. You have to unlock critical as well, otherwise OST wouldn't flash.
Glad it helped !

How long does flashing take?
It should progress fairly quickly and not get stuck (where you stuck for that capture?), you would get stuck right at the beginning without a critical unlock.
What is a critical unlock?
This method seems to be failing on me
Link added in the first post for those who are search challenged
Here is a toolkit of several tools ive collected and put together for the A12 in a single pack to help see through all the clutter and chaos of this forum, i have an A125U (converterd to a-125w) so thats all i can confirm working 100% but im 99% sure the methods will work for any mediatek version of this phone just make sure to use your correct firmware
the tools included will allow you to :
Enable OEM Unlock +Unlock the Bootloader
Create Scatter Firmware
Unbrick your device if stuck in Brom/Da mode
Root Your Device / Install TWRP
Enter Brom Mode
and more
All instructions are included inside the main folder of tools, seriously... and i mean seriously...please read the 3 or 4 different guides/methods to see which ones you actually need to do. Some are not needed depending on your end goal. I spent a month making every error possible and testing things so you dont have to so save yourself the trouble and read through
Ill do my best to answer any questions or issues you might have but please...please use your eyeballs and google.. i really dont want to have to answer questions like "how flash magisk" etc. Google is there.. it is your friend , use it. XD

No problem. What exactly are you trying to do, just unbrick the phone and flash stock firmware? I can make the instructions more easy to translate for you

Just follow the Unbrick directions that will get your phone back working stock. If you don't have scatter firmware for your device youll need to make that also, tools are included

Through such a bypass, I was able to see at least some kind of response from the flash tool, but the error
well, if I put it from SM-A125W, then the rollback error
Will that work for the Samsung Galaxy A13
Apologies for the stupid question, but this part:
**Follow the instructions Provided by A125U Root bit 3 by FixMX file to actually unlock the bootloader and root the device**
don't seem to be included in the zip file, unless I'm a buffoon and didn't notice them.
Is a FixMX a user who already wrote a guide for this? I just need to unlock the bootloader and then I can follow basic directions from there to get what I need.

I have no idea which directions your directions your talking about the only ones I wrote are the ones in the main folder , probably with a bunch of exclamations. I can't remember and don't have the file with me right now but as far as unlocking the bootloader you just need to get the phone to accept different firmware. Try flashing Sm-a125w Canadian version XAS

Nothing happened .. I got upset and put the phone on the shelf, told the owner to pick it up and carry it to the service center, but they didn’t take it to the service center

Nothing is supposed to happen if nothing happens that is good . Just leave the phone connected how it is and use a mediatek unlocking tool
When i get to the oart in your instructions that says to open the MTKMETATOOL file i just get a message informing me that it has expired and to see the developer. Is there another link to open the tool somewhere else? Ive looked at the other option to get a windows tool from github that you included but i can admit that im not as savvy as i would like to believe and all ive ever used is windows so i have no idea what to do with all of that on github. I hate having to bother you guys but i really would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance and you guys are just awesome!
