I created this theme by hand and it works with lollipop theme chooser and wont be found on Samsungs theme store. Enjoy the free theme
Install Instructions
Step 1
Download http://d-h.st/2uh3
Step 2

If rooted
move Theme.DarkMatter.json from data/overlays/trialjson to data/overlays/usersjon
then reboot
If you don't do this step it will only show in Theme chooser as a trial theme
If not rooted you can use package disabler to freeze themes 1.0 so the trial doesn't run out.( untested)

If you wish to uninstall you can switch to a different theme in theme chooser then run DarkMatter.v1.0.apk a second time it says it is installing but it really uninstalling. Then reboot to recovery clear cache/dalvek and it will be gone.
When I apply this theme after moving the file to the appropriate place. It does not apply correctly. I am rooted and I followed your directions but no luck. Any ideas?

Need more info... what do you mean by moving it to the appropriate place (needs to be installed). Also have you checked the md5 to make sure the apk is complete. MD5 Sum: 82c6d66213d44f913e3d04f388f80904
Also do you see a bunch of Theme.DarkMatter.* directories in data/app (if these directories don't exist then it isn't installed) see the example attached below.
Ok im rooted so after flashing the apk i transffer file from trial folder to user folder and reboot then it shows up in themes but when i install it it doesnt change the dialer icons or settings to the appropriate theme. Any ideas?

switch to the default theme then run the install again (it will uninstall the theme) reboot to recovery and clear cache and dalvek. Then make sure all directories for the theme Theme.DarkMatter.* in data/app are removed also Theme.DarkMatter.json from /data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson. Then try the install again.

Just curious, has anyone found a dependable way to backup & restore the store themes?
I've tried Titanium but I'm either missing something (there are a lot of files to backup) or its just not doable from there because of the way the system locks inactive themes when applied via the theme engine.

there must be a copy of Theme.DarkMatter.json still in the trials folder. If you copied it instead of move it then go back to data/overlays/trialjson and delete and make sure Theme.DarkMatter.json exists in data/overlays/usersjon. be sure to reboot your phone after.

Need more info like what ROM are you using? Some ROM's break the theme engine. Also check the data/app folder and make sure there is a bunch of Theme,DarkMatter.* directories and try selecting the default theme before selecting DarkMatter.

Using MOAR v1.2. Samsung themes still work. I will check on the rest. Thank you. And yeah the directories are there. Tried selecting the default theme first but it didn't help.

Requirements
Possibly Root - I assume you have to be rooted since this is replacing a system app.
HDPI/MDPI Compatible
Android 1.5+ - I assume this because minSDKversion is set to 3 by default in AndroidManifest.xml.
Only supports English (res/values/arrays.xml).
About
Basically, I couldn't sleep and was bored and was thinking about how unused/useless the Protips widget is and wanted to make it a little bit more usable. I like to laugh; I like sarcasm and bad humor; I like Demotivators, so all this just sort of came together. I take no credit at all for these; I just put them into this mod. I included all of the Demotivators that I could; there were 7/8 that would not fit because of the length of them; they are pretty easy to find if you go to the site and look through them. Also, there are no pictures included with this because it would have decreased the amount of text I could include. If you have never seen/read any of the Demotivators, then I suggest you go to the site and at least look through all of them because some of them don't make a ton of sense without the picture, but I included those anyways because they make me laugh, and I know what the picture looks like regardless.
Screenshot
The app uses the stock images, this is just using my theme engine theme. Mainly just to give an idea of text.

This is classic! Great work man! Thanks for thinking of this... (ah, the productivity of insomnia) Hmm, could be an original demotivator. "Insomnia... (Won't think of anything funny to put in here until I'm laying in bed tonight)"
Installed fine using astro for me. Thanks for this.

Strange thing, app installs fine but when I add the widget to my homescreen it shows the Android-hints widget.
Installed it through ES-file explorer, IO-file explorer and Super Manager. I'm not able to install it the other way.
Anyone else having this issue?
mmmh made sth. wrong... only get the normal tipps but no demotivations... installed the app via the posted direct-download link
install failed
I tried to install using RootExplorer but was denied. Failed to install. Am going to continue trying and will edit post after I succeed.
EDIT: I finally got a free minute to try again and have successfully installed using terminal emulator and jrummy's Roottools market app. I had to use Roottools to mount system bc I can never remember the correct way to type it in terminal emulator. Here's my method :
1. Mount system with Roottools
2. Open Terminal Emulator and type the following:
PHP:
su
cp /mnt/sdcard/download/Demotivators_HDPI-signed.apk /system/app/protips.apk
reboot
The widget will be in the list after booting back up.
NOTE: Your file may be in a different location and you will need to modify the command accordingly.
Its not allowing me to install. Tells me to 'upgrade'. Its confusing it with protips. Rooted Epic, stock using Astro.

I put a .zip file to flash in recovery in the OP that you can try instead trying to install like a normal apk. I'm not sure of what the issue is.
This is just a modified version of Protips which is why it's trying to make you "upgrade" it.
funny app
great way to replace that horrible Protips app lol. I just used Root Explorer, and went to the System/Apps folder. Just rename Protips.apk to Protips.bak (so you still have it) then just move the Demotivational app to System/Apps and rename it to Protips.apk. Then I just rebooted my phone, went to my widgets, and added it easily

How to install:
Make sure you have "install from unknown sources" checked on settings.
Different methods
A) Download to PC, then upload to dropbox, and download to phone.
B) Use ADB:
Code:
adb install -r com.android.vending-1.apk
C) Mount USB to computer, dragg .apk file to sd card. Unmount, use a file manager and install.
Enjoy!
When i install from file manager it fails and from adb it fails again with the message:
[INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_INCOSISTENT_CERTIFICATES]
am i doing something wrong?
I've downloaded the APK and installed it via Linda Manager... works fine
No need to do any adb commands, at least not here!
weird... this usually means that you cant install it because it's interfeiring with your market.. almost as if you had to uninstall one to install the other..but it works without uninstalling the market.
Im not sure, maybe go to settings>manage apps>market
click force stop and clear cache..
see if that works.. not sure why you are getting the error.
Does it has to do with my current market version? It's version 2.2.6 manually pushed because for some reason it would not update to the newest, was the market in a newer version maybe?
For those having issues installing the new market... are you currently using a theme? Is your current Market modified? If it is signed with testkeys that might be causing the problem. Try reflashing your rom (without theme) and then try the market. Then simply remove the vending.apk file from your theme file and try flashing your theme. It should (in theory) work fine.

THIS WILL ONLY WORK FOR STOCK BASED ROMS- I.E STOCK 2.3.3, WOLFBREAK V6, POSSIBLY OTHERS BUT HAVE NOT TESTED ON OTHERS.
-This will add SE Home launcher, Media discovery, app discovery, world clock, calendar apps.
okay, here it goes. It's not as simple as it looks so PLEASE BE CAREFUL.
THINGS YOU'LL NEED
-Root explorer or equivalent
-Flashable zip with MOST files:DOWNLOAD HERE
-SEMCFacebookProxy.apk:DOWNLOAD HERE
-SE 2.3.4 Home launcher (all widgets work on this and you can share apps as well):DOWNLOAD HERE
INSTRUCTIONS. PLEASE FOLLOW CAREFULLY AND DONT SKIP ANY STEPS.
1.REMOVE ALL FACEBOOK ACCOUNTS! I.E Remove Facebook inside xperia account and facebook sync account. Also, if you want to be extra safe, go to your facebook-privacy settings-apps and websites and REMOVE the facebook inside xperia option.
2.Download all files required, put zips and SEMCFacebookProxy.apk on SDCARD.
3.Flash FB02.zip using xrecovery. Flash 2.3.4 home launcher as well. Wipe dalvik cache.FIX PERMISSIONS (IMPORTANT).Reboot.
4.Install SEMCFacebookProxy.apk using some file explorer. It should install perfectly.
5.Login to facebook, choose sync settings. If everything worked properly you should get a facebook inside xperia message asking for permission options in notification bar.
6.Using root explorer, go to system/app and MOVE SEMCFacebookService.apk to sdcard. Reboot, then INSTALL the same SEMCFacebookService.apk from your sdcard. Reboot again. You might get another authorization notification but that's okay, everything should be working perfectly now.
Troubleshooting
1.If you don't get a prompt asking you to authorize Facebook inside Xperia, REMOVE your facebook sync and FIX sync. Then, relogin into facebook, choose sync options, it should come up.
2.Sharing apps MIGHT not work on new 2.3.4 Home launcher. It might work for you but it's no guarantee. It didn't work for me, but did wrok for others. One thing you can try if it isn't working is to UNINSTALL 2.3.4 launcher by deleting home.apk from system/app (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ANOTHER LAUNCHER!) and reflash it!
3.If you get connection problems with media discovery, try fixing permissions using xrecovery
Have fun!

The best way to make this tool even better....Give your input, what would you like to see?
Awesome. thanks for this!
I already have root and I kinda went on a deleting spree when i got root... I uninstalled a dozen or two apps that I figured I didn't need. I realize it probably wasnt the best idea and I probably should have frozen them first, but oh well. I think i caused some random battery drains now and am thinking about what to do next. I can think of two options:
1)Odin back to stock/Run this tool^ --> is there any way around loosing my data when I Odin?
2)Wait for SS/install custom ROM --> The custom ROM should replace anything I messed up right?
I also implemented the fix to write to SD. Any advice you have would be great! I am not having major problems with my phone by any means. I'm just looking for the best experience.
The way I compiled the executable may pull up as a Virus in Symantec Endpoint but I assure you it is not.

If you are unsure about anything removed that might cause harm then ODIN'ing back to stock would be recommend. I usually only use ODIN when I want that "out of the box / from scratch" mind set. If your phone has no real malfunctions (like you said) try downloading a battery monitoring app. I use battery Doctor.

We could add a package, it would be large, to push all the deleted files back to the device and set permissions to each. It would be challenging but ultimately can be done, if needed. That is of course if you didn't want to wipe the entire phone. In my other thread I put downloadable links to each app that was removed with the original debloat script. OP you can link to those if you wish.

wouldnt it be easier for a talented person to create a no wipe odin tar? one that wont wipe phone at all but will reinstall the system and put back anything that was undone keeping everything else intact.. if possible would be a lot easier than making a package to load everything back

also, is this just a debloater at the moment?

It's kind of a one stop shop for installing UBS drivers, rooting, debloating and adding mods. Still a WIP
A couple of ideas based upon what I've seen requested on the forum:
1) Native wifi tether subscription bypass
2) A shortcut on the pull down menu for 1)

If I stop the system like I've been doing I don't see why framework modifications are not a possibility. I'll play around tonight when my wife and daughter are sleeping.
Update it seems there is ONLY a deodexed version of the framework patch for NAtive Wifi Tether Bypass. Until I play more the only thing we can offer is adb installing X Tether and Xposed.
Thanks for this, used it to remove some bloatware i missed!!!
Would like to see flashlight pull down toggle added if it exists for the verizon s5 yet.

...this isn't that type of program. That's something you can either download from the playstore for a custom toggle switch, or wait for ROMs to come out. Or do what I did and download Xposed and added the long press volume up button that enables flashlight with phone off.

If you (or someone else) wants to take the time to edit the necessary files for this to work I'd be more then willing to add it to the tool.
The procedure can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617552
I am at work and do not have time to decompile / recompile these files. Nor are we allowed to have such software on our PC's (APKTOOL)
Like I said, if someone wants to edit the files and recompile them. Send them to my e-mail [email protected] and I will add this function to the TOOLKIT
For those that want the Marvel Avenger themes and other stock themes from the S6, for their S7/S7 Edge, follow the directions below. Root is not required but you will need to purchase an app called Package Disabler Pro in order for this to work. Now, if you had an S6 and already obtained those stock themes then you should still have them. This is for those people that missed out on the S6 and want those themes on their S7's.
***Before starting please make sure you're using the default theme***
1) Purchase and download Package Disabler Pro and install it.
2) Download a file manager from the Play Store. Any should work fine, I use File Manager
3) Go here and download the Marvel theme of your choice. Be sure and give "Thanks" to Gunthermic for posting the S6 stock themes and making them available to us. I also recommend making a folder somewhere on your drive to put these zip files in because you will have to extract the files within them before copying them to your phone and there's quite a few files for each theme.
4) Connect your phone to your PC and transfer the extracted theme files to your phone's internal storage. Once again, I recommend making a folder on your phone to keep the theme files in. I created one called "Themes".
5) Open file manager on your phone and locate the theme files you just copied. There should be 2 APK files that will stand out from all the others, they usually begin with "Avengers"...the others will start with "com". You want to install the larger APK file first(it won't have "Wallpaper" in the file name) and once that's installed then install the wallpaper apk second.
6) Open up your Theme Store and you should see the Marvel theme you just installed. It will say "Trial" on it but just ignore that for now. Go ahead and press free trial and apply the theme.
7) Now that your theme is loaded you need to disable the Theme store and Theme Center using Package Disabler Pro otherwise the 5 min trial will end and you'll revert back to the default theme.
8) Open Package Disabler Pro and once the list is populated scroll down until you find Theme Store and disable it.
9) Now to disable Theme Center you're going to have to manually add this one because it isn't listed. Go into options for Package Disabler Pro and select Manual Disabler(2nd option from bottom). Now type in com.samsung.android.themecenter and press Disable.
You're finished! The theme will remain on until you re-enable the Theme Store and Theme Center within Package Disabler Pro.
Thanks

Hey Guys.. I think i know how to prevent the revert theme after 5 minutes, even if you already install the June Patch system updates for regular Samsung S7/S7 edge..
This is my method:
1. Install Batman_M.apk
2. Apply the TRIAL Batman Themes
3. Open the Package Disabler Pro and disable the "Themes Store" & " Themes Center"
4. Close All Apps via Recent Menu
5. Open Settings > Applications > Application Manager > More (upper right) > Show System Apps > scroll down and find "Themes" > Storage > Clear Cache > Clear Data
6. Close All Apps..
The thing is, you should clear the "Themes" data.. Not the "Package Disabler Pro" data in the Applications menu..
I've done this and it worked on unroot Samsung S7 Edge..
By the way, this trick won't be available if you Shutdown/Restart your S7.. You should clear the data for the "Themes" again after reboot your phone.. Otherwise, it will revert back to the previous theme after 5 minute..
Hope this help.. Have fun being the new Batman..
Thanks worked a treat
Is there a fix (no root) for the trial thing, that sticks on reboot?

No fix in the meantime but you can follow the steps above

Guys super problem here.
I installed some avengers themes and used package disabler on theme center. All fine but... phone went down on power and now (charged back) refuses to start (like bootloop stuck on flashing Samsung logo).
Seems that the disabled packages are preventing the phone from booting.
Tried to wipe cache from stock recovery but no luck on that.
What to do now? Reinstall firmware with Odin? In case will I loose photos and stuff?
Please help
Clear cache in recovery. If doesn't work, try factory reset in recovery
