I'm feeling something down that prevents LTE from functioning and I don't know what process it is or what app it is that I'm shutting down that's causing the problem. it doesn't happen immediately it can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days but it happens because of what I'm disabling. I know this because enabled all the packages and within 30 seconds the LTE turns back on, I should say the cellular turns back on. anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

For the past couple weeks I have been having major connection problems with 3G & WiFi. It would just stop working, even though the bars would be there and show that it is working, but nothing would load. Normally have to turn off Wifi or data for a couple minutes and then turn it back on, or reboot, but even then it does not last that long.
I found on these forums and other places that people seem to have been having the same issue and was caused by the recent update from SuperSU and something it was giving permissions to called mksh. So I denied it permissions, continued to have problem, I went back to the older version, still the saem, I removed the program, and started using just normal Superuser, and the problem still continues.
I was for sure this was the problem, but the program is gone now. I know it can't really be the mksh by itself because it's part of the android OS. For awhile I thought it might have been my SIM card but quickly realised that well WiFi is a problem as well, not just 3G data.
Any one have ideas about this? It's getting really annoying and almost not usable.
BUMP, anyone, this is getting quite annoying. I have searched and done everything possible.
Still needing help.
I don't like bumping this all the time.
I have done all the searching I can, no one has similar problems, no one has any ideas?
Still looking for some answers.
I guess I am the only one.
service issue
toggle airplane mode and if it works call your provider it sounds like a issue with your service

What do you mean by toggle Airplane mode, when having the problem, turn it on, then turn it off, to see if service works again?
Yes that works, that is what I do most of the time, actually most of the time I have airplane mode on, and then have only wifi enabled.
Either way, how does troubles with WiFi as well as 3G connections mean a problem with my service provider? They don't provide WiFi
Anyone..
Hello everyone,
I have had my E6653 since mid October, and it was working well, however once I flashed a Taiwanese 32.0.A.6.152 firmware I have this bug. Let me describe what actually happens:
1. All stamina modes turned on (clock, extended standby, extended usage)
2. Start using the phone after it sat idle for some time, sometimes even 10 minutes is enough
3. Whatever app you were in, if it requires internet connection, it won't work. Switch apps, try to use internet connection and it still won't work.
4. Wait for somewhere around 15 seconds, and internet connection kicks in.
It happens when I'm both on LTE and Wi-Fi. I have already tried repairing my phone, and flashed 3 different firmwares (CE, Taiwan, UK), but nothing helps. I have seen someone on reddit with a similar problem, but for them it only occurred when they were connected to Wi-Fi.
Has anybody else experienced this? If yes, were you able to fix it?
Thanks for your time!
I was able to fix it by waiting 15 seconds.
Seriously, turning back on the radios and acquiring an IP address isn't instant. Just be happy you have a phone with Stamina mode available if you want it.

I don't think you understood what the problem is. I have LTE and Wi-Fi turned on all the time, never turn either off. Stop using a phone for 10 minutes, turn the screen back on, unlock it, try to use internet connection and then it fails. It hasn't happened on the previous version of the firmware when I had all stamina modes turned on, and it certainly isn't normal. It's a bug, and I was asking if anyone knows the fix. Waiting 15 seconds is not one, unfortunately.
Well one of us isn't getting the issue for sure and I don't think it's me. However, I've been wrong before
You said:
"1. All stamina modes turned on (clock, extended standby, extended usage)"
but also:
"I have LTE and Wi-Fi turned on all the time, never turn either off."
Stamina mode says about Extended standby: "Saves power when the screen is off by temporarily disabling Wi-Fi and mobile data".
These two statements are in disagreement.
So you put the phone down for a few minutes (presumably the screen goes off too), then Stamina mode kicks in and turns off Wi-Fi and mobile data. You wake up the phone after 10 minutes or so => you need to wait for radios to fire up and acquire IP address.
I'm not seeing anything wrong or unexpected with this behaviour...
I've noticed this more aggressive stamina mode myself. In all honesty I can't see a problem with it, it's putting the phone into deep sleep a lot faster (10 seconds or so in most cases) than it was on the firmware before. If it is happening across many different firmwares it is safe to assume that's how it is meant to be functioning. If, in the next firmware, it goes back to how it was it was a bug.
This behavior is different to earlier Xperias so it surprised me as well. In addition the phone shows you still connected to the network which makes it more difficult to determine.
So after updating to Marshmallow (PCA, then to PE1, then back to PCA to use the deodexed rom) after a week or so after installation the issue that i wrote out in the title starts occuring. It seems the phone is trying to ping my location every 15 seconds but ive shut off all of the location settings i could find in the settings app and the ones shown in the setup wizard but it still occurs. On LTE or 3G it is fine and battery life isnt dropping out of orbit but only on wifi, when the lte icon usually goes away until i turn off wifi or walk far enough away from any access point im connected to. Has Anyone else experieced this?
Same issue
I've got a Samsung galaxy S5 as well and I've got similar behaviour but I'm my case happens every 8 seconds.
While I'm using my Wi-Fi connection as usual each 8 seconds the LTE or 3G icon appears and half second later disappear again.
I don't understand why and if I can change this behaviour
Regards
have you tried separately flashing a compatible kernel? it sounds like it is caused by the hardware not liking the wifi radio.
Sometimes my WiFi goes away, LTE kicks in for a second, and then WiFi comes right back. I don't know for certain, but it may only happen when the phone has been unused for a while, right after I first pick it up to do something. But I have the WiFi power saving option turned off, so that WiFi should stay on all the time. And I seem to recall it happening just at random sometimes, too, in the middle of browsing websites or social media apps. It'll say "no connection" and I'll look up and see LTE kick in, then WiFi come right back, then I'm all good. It's very annoying.
On top of the quick WiFi cycling issue, sometimes WiFi will just completely stop working. When I go into settings, it says it's disabled and I can't turn it back on. Going in and out of airplane mode fixes it. This only happens about once a week or so. The other issue is by far more annoying.
Anyone else experiencing either of these? I'm on Verizon with a black 128 GB stock, unrooted, if it makes a difference.
Thanks!
I personally haven't seen this on my VZW Pixel although I use it with T-Mobile service. These are as suggestions only, and it may or may not help, but you could try using any order below.
1) The setting to keep WiFi during sleep is on, right?
2) Have you tried to use your phone without sim card in it and see if WiFi is still acting strange?
3) I would also suggest to go to Settings>Google>Networking and see if you have WiFi assistant on or off. There is a setting under advanced as well.
4) Does it happen on all WiFi networks or when using on particular one? You could forget that network and then join again.
5) Alternatively you could "Network settings reset" under Settings>More>Network Settings Reset - after the reset, you may need to rejoin all the networks, pair Bluetooth devices and so on.
So My S3 was nice and happy running CM12, doing it's thing and being an S3. One day I said "I wanna try Lineage" so i flashed it... Since then my phone has had major issues with the radio.
No matter what rom I'm on this occurs
Forcing the phone in 1x mode allows normal operation, forcing EvDo allows normal operation
If I allow an LTE connection he following happens
Custom roms or anything past kitkat
LTE will connect for 35 seconds roughly
suddenly the radio will switch off
radio will switch back on, number changes from my number to 000-000-xxxx(currently 4313)
subscriber mode changes from RUIM/SIM to NV.
If i change it back to RUIM/SIM, THEN switch off the radio and back on in that exact order, it restores service with LTE for approx 35 seconds, then repeates
this does NOT occur with LTE disabled...
on any Rom prior to kitkat
after 35 seconds with LTE enabled, the phone will crash and reboot, disabling LTE allows phone to work correctly.
Anyone recognize this? or have a fix?
i tried flashing all the way back to ICS stock and running a factory reset with no effect.
How can i fix this?
If i put any simcard that isn't VZW in, it rapidly says no sim, then no service, tries to connect for 1 second, then repeats, previously it would allow my TMO sim to work...(Lineage doesn't allow any sim except VZW)
Help...?
Opted to post incase anyone stumbles across this, it was an issue with my EFS, it's fixed now
