(MOD) Note 4 keyboard on note 5 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

If anyone is like me and misses the note 4's emoji suggestion, i have a solution. Also if this was posted already just delete and i apologize. All i did was get my wifes note 4 and extract the keyboard apk. Copy over to note 5. BACK UP CURRENT KEYBOARD or rename it with a .bak at the end. Example: Samsung.ime.bak. Rename the NOTE 4 keyboard. SamsungIMEv2_5.apk and copy to the folder with the same name. then reboot
I have been using this for 2 days and no issues. I have posted the note 4 apk if you need it as well as a pic of how i have it set up and a test shot.
This is my first real post except for thank yous to all the devs so please be gentle.
Also i am not in anyway a pro like the devs on here i just like modding stuff.
And don't forget to fix permissions. 0644 (rw-r-r) thanks mth7386

You might want to update the OP to include "change permissions to 0644 (rw-r-r)" just in case. But thank you for the apk!

Anyway to invert the theme? Thanks for the upload.

if you find a note 4 themed apk, you could replace it with the one i provided.

Just get Swype. Samsung's keyboard blows.

What happens when you change your theme from the Theme Store? They all have different keyboards. So where does the stock go orndoes it stay like Note 4 for every theme?

I used this and LOVE it...it looks a little themed though..Its different in color from mine and my iwfes Tmobile Note 4s. I have the Note 5 as well and prefer this one. So I appreciate the effort making this for us

great! thanks for the tip!
How is black Swype different?
Is it just the color of the keys? Or is the whole keyboard smaller? A smaller swype keyboard that doesn't take up so much of the screen would be great.

I have the tablet beta installed which is black and orange and it's very small in portrait, and half screen in landscape.
Has anyone got a version that is scaled?
This is scared too small for the note.
I would love a themed swype though! In black pref
Awhile ago i was playing around with voice settings trying to get a different voice (for navigation, etc) & ever since then i lost the Mic on the swype keyboard.
So I downloaded & installed this black swype (to try & get the mic back) & deleted the system one like a post in this thread advised & now I've lost swype completely :-(
Any suggestions? Or maybe I'll just wait till i update the firmware or wait till ics?

honestly it doesnt matter lol. the other person would see the emoji according to the icons on their phone, not yours.
Anyways, try downloading the AOSP Keyboard
and it should work. If it's still displaying the samsung emojis then it would require quite an extensive amount of apk modding.
You could also try the SwiftKey beta

LG G3 keyboard app

All,
I became bored with the stock Samsung keyboard and didn't want to go back to Swift key so so went looking around last night. My original intentions we're to find an upgraded/modded Samsung keyboard. I ended up finding an awesome port of the LG G3 keyboard app that works on our Note 3. I downloaded and installed the g3kb.apk from the following link. Its sleek, intelligent, and everything I was looking for. Hopefully you find some enjoyment as well.

Apk doesn't work. Gonna try the zip
Edit: the zip file worked like a charm. I love it. Thank you so much for this find. Bro. You rock. I'll people know.
Two days in and I believe this is the most well constructed native keyboard made to date. It blows the default Samsung keyboard out of the water on intelligence alone.

Yeah i believe so
auto correct update?
Love the keyboard! Wish that the auto correct bar comes up when entering text in ALL fields except the usual like passwords and numbers. The app works perfectly within the OEM messaging app.
yikes! took out my Action Memo
I loved the keyboard and even endedup installing a mod to force auto correct. After a couple days of use I went for my Action memo and it crash on start every time. I started looking for reasons. Uninstalled the mod for auto correct and no change. Next to go is the keyboard. I followed the following steps but want to know how if this completely uninstalls the files:
1.Use root browser or root explorer to open System/App
2.Put .bak at the end of these files names or delete them -
LGEIME.apk , LGEIME_DICT_XT9_bin.apk , LGEIME_THEME_BLACK#2.apk , LGIme_Theme_HARLEY_DAVIDSON.apk
3.Go to System/Lib and do the same as before except with these 3 files -
libjni_lgeime_native.so , libjni_xt9input_v9.so , libMyScriptHWR.so
4. Reboot your phone
5. Open Settings/Controls/Language and input
6. Lastly, set Samsung Keyboard as your default.
Thanks! Would love to keep but love my action memo more.

[MOD] Theme Store- How to keep your stock icons on any theme

*Dont you hate when you like a theme but hate the icons!!! I will give you a simple guide to download the theme you want and keep your stock icons
~Keep your stock icons for any theme~
*ROOTED REQUIRED*
*Please read complete guide*
*Make sure you are not using the theme you are applying this to! Apply a different theme while your editing this file!
1. Using a file explorer, go to data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson and find the theme you want to keep stock icons!
2. Open file and hit the edit button! Look for this line a little ways down:
"appicon":"com.cambunch.ThemeName.appicon",
and delete it! Save file and reboot!
3. Now you can go to theme store and apply that theme and have stock icons
***This should work for any theme in userjson file, just follow same steps and remember to save and reboot before you apply theme!!!
***JUST HIT THANKS IF YOU THINK THIS IS FRICKIN AWESOME***

You should close this thread. Not a good idea. Paid themes should be paid for. There is a lot of work developers put into their themes

Its actually a very simple cooky cutter program they use to make these themes lol... And Samsung turns down real themers from XDA that have applied to there Theme store dev. program! Go figure lol

It was edited out.
I was actually just using TitaniumBU to uninstall the separate parts of the theme which works great as well. But, one thing I could not do unless I use your method is get rid of the ugly skinny lockscreen font that is only found in the file path you mention. Finally I can use the blackOn theme without that ugly font as well as getting rid of settings and both input methods to have the stock looking keyboard. I haven't had anything crash on applying themes even with multiple parts of the theme uninstalled or deleted from the file so everyone wanting to modify its safe when doing these deletions.
I just noticed that using icons other then stock icons seem to stay put for me while I'm using nova launcher. Not sure if nova overrides the theme engine or what but it works flawlessly. I mainly just use the themes to get a custom notification panel and dialer since I haven't rooted since upgrading from my N4.

Download the theme, then edit, then reboot. If you apply the theme first before editing & rebooting it won't work. I've had existing downloaded themes that this didn't work for. I had to uninstall, reboot, redownload, edit, reboot, then apply & it worked fine. Works on every theme I've tried & I've tried quite a few.

I could have SWORE I rebooted the first couple times. I may be wrong. Sorry for wasting your time. I did it again. Rebooted now it's working. My mistake might have been that I probably did a hot reboot instead of a full reboot. All is well now. Thanks again!!!

@Goody68
I figured out that, in the same file where you delete the app icon line, you can't actually substitute a theme attribute with one's from another theme. For instance. Here is a screenshots of my current setup. (You should add this to the op and throw a brother a shout out!) Lol ?
Dark night - base theme
Fantasy white - icons (ios icons)
Dark sd - AccuWeather
Screenshots of the lines I changed for reference.

[Request] Keyboard short press

Can we get this module working for the new Samsung keyboard? I have the Note 5 5.1.1 but im sure everyone would love it. Maybe modded down to 150 ms?
http://repo.xposed.info/module/net.tabbal.samsungkeyboardshortdelay
I would totally like this module. I usually set it at 200 ms but 150 would be fine. Are you gonna create this module?
May i know what is the function of this mod?

It's for the long press time on the stock samsung keyboard. For example when you long press "m" to get the "?" Mark it just makes the delay shorter.

It isn't an apk. @tdunham said it was in the smali code or something. Not something simple to copy over elsewhere.
