Hello
Does anyone have any knowledge of using a different tablet glass digitizer. I have an ainol novo 10 hero ii and replacement screens cost more than its worth. I can get a cheap screen with same 10 pin ribbon connection and fit it, but I'm wondering how the software side will be.

If you can't find a cheap digitizer, you could maybe part it out on eBay and then just buy a whole phone used.
Does anyone know where I can get a main rear camera for this?
Hey y'all. I dropped my white SR a while back and repaired the screen myself. I used http://www.cellphone-repair-shop.com/samsung-skyrocket-sgh-i727/
They have the best prices on parts that I could find. You can do it all yourself too. Just google instructions for replacing the parts.
To repair the LCD/digitizer, you have to replace the entire front, not just the glass. It's an all in one unit, that's why it's so expensive. I followed these instructions: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1758028-How-To-replace-I727-screen
Yup. The digitizer and its circuitry are attached to the screen (glass) with some wicked adhesive. Its an all-in-one piece that is also glued into the carriage. It comes out from the front. Just replaced mine last night lol.

hey so i bought a nexus 7 (2012) from my friends little brother and it has some glass missing and a few cracks along it, about 2.5/5ths of the screen is where the cracks are and the screen will not work, the LCD itself looks like its not broken but the area where the crack and below is unresponsive. sooooo im not sure what i need to buy, i see that some devices have the digitizer built into the lcd what that happen to be with my device? im not sure yet what i should buy, do i need a new digitizer or a lcd as well? if anyone has any links, i would really love to buy them on amazon or maybe ebay if the price is right.
Bump?
Does anyone know how much it cost to repair just the glass?.

An arm and a leg.
where do I get a quote from?
Ouch, that'll cost you a small fortune... Didn't you just get it last week or some? (if I remeber the Comics topic correctly)
Try an official Samsung Service Center.

Spare parts
Hi Y´all.
Actually i don´t think it´s totally impossible to make the repair yourself.
What i haven´t been able to locate is a source of spare parts.
Ebay seems to be void of parts for this tablet.
I found a place that advertised for a front glass for the SM-P900. My -905 search though has been a total failure.
Can´t remember where i saw the -900 front glass.
Even a battery seems to be a very tall order.
I love my new tablet, but i dread the day when i´ll need spare parts. Saw somewhere that tablets have a slower turnaround i.e. people keep them for longer.
Runs nicely i thread with my own intentions to keep my -905 for at least 3 years - longer if possible. Then battery replacement could very well be an issue.
Regards
Elo
Repairing a 12 inch screen is going to be the pain of the world. Samsung glues the digititzer plus glas onto the lcd. Gonna be fun scraping the glas of the lcd without damaging it. Lcd plus digititzer might be a better idea but pretty expensive....

This. I've been to the repair centers, I've seen how they sit in white suits with face masks scraping off the glue for hours before they can replace the screen. Masks, because the glue is semi-toxic. (this kind of heavy-duty glue usually is.)

Hi everybody!
I just got used Moto G, cheap There is problem with the unit: bottom half of the screen doesn't work (the digitizer). Guy told me he dropped it but I don't see any cracks or scratches...
So I followed video from youtube and disassembled it.
Now. My unit doesn't have two pieces: it doesn't have blue cover tape over LCD/digitizer connector and it doesn't have LCD Rear Metal Plate between board and digitizer...
Is it normal? Or looks like somebody took apart before me?...
It's Canadian unit, from Telus (if it matters).
And next question: what place do you recommend to get replacement screen/digitizer from?
Thanks!
Etradesupply. Or phonepartsusa if they have them. Last I looked they were $30-40 US or so. I Am unsure of the aluminum shielding. My assumption would be for conductivity to ground the digitizer but that's just a hunch. There were early model touch screen phones that would not register touch when you laid the phone down without holding it. I think my old HTC eris was that way. Before buying a display, I would watch the videos again and check where the tape is during disassembly and use masking tape on those areas and put back together. Worth a shot I would think.

Thanks for reply!
Yes, I checked etradesupply. They have this part only in HK warehouse. And during ordering procedure they show some message about custom fees for private customers and suggest to register company with them...
Anyway. I found couple on eBay from one seller. But he calls this part "inner heat shield". So it cost me $7 plus $7 for shipping from LA to Canada (still cheaper than etradesupply).
So now I'll order new screen+digitizer from aliexpress and start my trial
Thanks again!
