Trebuchet 1.0 on official Honor 5.1.1 rom - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have recently upgraded my H60-L04 to lollipop 5.1.1. Fortunately everything has gone well. In the previous rom I installed trebuchet 1.0 and I used this launcher instead of the default one. Also in lollipop trebuchet works well, but I read few days ago that emui 3.1 was very innovative, so I uninstalled trebuchet and set the new emui 3.1 launcher. Unfortunately I don't like it and so I decided to re-install trebuchet. I have tried every method (downloading various "trebucket.apk", using apps on the store that lets you install CM apps) but when I try to install trebuchet my phone doesn't let me install it. I have also activated the "unknown origins" feature, but it doesn't work anyway. Can someone help me? Thank you all.

Thank you for your answer, but I wanted Trebuchet 1.0 on my phone, and not the updated version for lollipop because it doesn't have the capability of hiding applications anymore. Is there a Trebuchet 1.0 version ported for Lollipop?
Thanks.

I dont believe there is. :/

As we speak about launchers...
It doesnt work well together with Emui's theme engine. I've had different launchers (like apex and nova), I got force closes.
However, after disabling ''hw theme'' from build.prop, NO more force closes.
I don't want the HW launcher, because it is less customizable, can I just delete it?

never had force close with nova launcher on emui 3.1

[Q] Google Experience Launcher on stock 4.1.1?

Now that Kitkat is out, I was wondering if we could get the GEL working on our stock 4.1.1. I tried it by installing the new launcher apk but kept getting google search FC.... even included the libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so lib...nothing worked.
Luckily though it worked perfectly on @Akhilendra Gadde's MiUI rom (4.2.2) but i've to keep freeing memory.
Many ppl say it works on 4.1 so is it a problem with just our stock rom? or the new launcher supports only 4.1.2 n above??

How to restore CyanogenMod 'DeskClock' app?

Hi,
Somewhere along the line while installing the rom and cleaning out bloatware apps I've lost the CyanogenMod version of the 'Clock' app (com.android.deskclock). The version I have installed is the Google version (com.google.android.deskclock) which has very few features compared with the CM version. Specifically I miss having the ability to hide the statusbar icon for alarms which the CM version has built-in.
Does anyone know how to get the CM version of 'Clock' back on my phone. I cannot find a download of an apk, hopefully I don't have to do a clean install to get this app back?
Hopefully if anybody uses Titanium Backup of the latest CM 13 version of this apps apk can they please share it?
I'm running sultans version of marshmallow (CM 13).
Thanks.
P.S I tried searching XDA for an answer but it seems to broken with errors at the moment.

The chronus app on the playstore is the equivalent of the cm clock. You can always use that one.

This appears to be some kind of third-party weather widget? I would like to use the proper first-party Clock app bundled with CM 13, the forked version from AOSP.

App action shortcuts in EMUI launcher?

Just updated to Nougat and the default EMUI launcher doesn't seem to have the App Action Shortcuts. Of course you can get it if you use Nova, but then I was expecting since its Nougat, the EMUI launcher would have that option...
I was not part of the beta, but was this discussed in the beta program?

YouTube Kids app icon missing in launcher

as im not in one of those YT Kids app supported regions, i installed the app with APK (from apkmirror.com) and enjoyed it for over a year already.. however, today suddenly i realised that the app icon disappeared in my launcher drawer.. it was there a few hours ago and in between the period i didnt reboot the phone, didnt install or update any app, didnt touch any files in my phone..
i checked "/data/app" directory, and there was the "com.google.android.apps.youtube.kids-1" directory with all files intact.. i tried to re-install the apk and it went without any problem.. and there was a new "/data/app/com.google.android.apps.youtube.kids-2" directory created with all files same as the previous installation.. but the app icon just did not appear in the drawer..
i tried to switch to the stock launcher, and the app icon was still missing..
now im out of ideas for what could go wrong.. any suggestion for me?
tia..
Same thing happend to me (Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Stock 7.0), nu luck with previous versions of Youtube Kids either..
Same here. Galaxy S8. What has happened? Maybe recent Google instant app has something to do with it ?
Hi, same issue here on a Lenovo tablet and Galaxy S7, both running android 7.x. App appears to be gone from the app list and only by installing an app uninstaller i am able to remove it. Same problem when trying to install older versions of the YT Kids. I can install but i can't run it or see it in the app list.
On an older device runing kitkat the icon is still there with no problems, so i would guess this may be a new feature on the google services or so. They may now be enforcing regional limitations. Any info on that?
Unfortunately same thing here. Samsung tab A 2016 !
Same hete, but went here https://kids.youtube.com
Clicked to get it then app store opened he app and was able to enable it

it still redirects to play store, and thus app availability is still subject to regions..
I can only confirm the problem ( Galaxy A5 2017 running Nougat)
Seems like a server side or Nougat upgrade issue.
I have exactly same symptoms. app icon is missing, side-loaded app installs but does not register properly so it does not appear in app list, and can be uninstalled only with third party app (e.g. ES File explorer)
Hope there will be a solution to run YT Kids once again in regions where it's not officially supported.
Hopefully someone can make a modded apk version without a region check.

i dont think the check is done in the app itself, probably its done in the framework..
cos i have not updated the app, and suddenly it went from working to disappearance, so i guess something in the underlying google framework changed..
Okay, so maybe someone knows a simular app. I didn't found one yet, after ours of searching and installing
---------- Post added at 08:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:30 AM ----------
I installed a lot of different versions of yt kids and sometimes he wil open after installation and after a few second he stopps working. But the icon never apears from two weeks ago. The disapearing happend on the same day by my phone, from my wifes phone and my mother in laws phone?
Yeah, sad Google starts to execute regional restrictions more strictly. :crying:
The latest version 2.28.14 have new logo but won't run although it installs almost fine except no icon.
Therefore you should use 3rd party app to uninstall defunct app (e.g. ES File Explorer).
It seems it's gone for good. Check thread below:

Yes. Downgrade your os to MM and down. And will work. On Nougat it's not working.

I have tested in on 3 devices and its working:
S3 mini - android 4.1 stock - YTKIDS working
Tab 3 8" - android 4.2 stock - YTKIDS working
P8 lite - android 6 stock - YTKIDS working
P9 lite 2017 - android 7 stock - YTKIDS not working
So... Must be something with the Nougat that blocks YouTube kids.

It is firmware related. I have TAB S2 for my daughter with Nougat and on previous version of firmware YK works OK - installed from APK mirror, but updated firmware (just new version - still Nougat 7.0) deletes icon from launcher
So, anyone found a solution to this, same here Samsung galaxy Tab A8 2017, and Note 8
it seems it is because of Android N

I just have 2 questions:
- Is this version work with exynos processor?
- do i need to enable this app using adb commend? And install any other app? Or just install this apk and set it as default, because it crashed on me.
Edit: it works fine now after setting it as default, and no need to do any thing, juat install the apk and set it as default. Done.
Thanks

That fact alone had me passing to even try this version. I'll wait for the official update to Android Pie, I'm in no hurry.
For notification dots just go to notification access setting and allow the permission for the new launcher. It will work.
hi,
Samsung Experience Home 10 v10.0.0.61 was released.
Unfortunatelly, it doesn;t work for Android Oreo 8.0.
Can it be done something to be able to install it as previous version v.10.0.0.55?
Thanks.

Clear cache and data of that app and set it as your default launcher. That should fix the problem.
