Prevent screen rotation on app-by-app basis

Is there a way to disable the automatic screen rotation for specific applications? I thought I'd seen a settings app that did this, but haven't been able to find it on xda or anywhere else. Are there per-application settings that control rotation or is it just the global setting that's available? I've seen mention of doing this by editing an app's manifest.xml file, but am not sure if this can be done if all I have is the apk or not...
Yes i too would love and app that does this. Hope someone writes one soon
still looking for this :/
Its called PerApp... ill post a link soon
EDIT: here it is http://db.tt/UoAXK0Ik

One solution...
I recently discovered the Xposed Framework and am using the App Settings module within it to control a variety of per-app settings, including orientation.

Mobile Hotspot Fix w/o Date Change

Found this on the VZW forums and haven't seen it here yet. If you create a widget with Elixir, you can toggle the hotspot on/off without needing to change your phones date/time.
https://market.android.com/details?id=bt.android.elixir
Install this app.
Create a widget on the homescreen.
I picked Elixir 1x1
Click on the X at the top and choose Wi-Fi Ap(Hostspot) switch.
Then click create.
Then click on the widget you created and it will launch your mobile hotspot.
Good Find!
Thank you!!!
Edit: where is the x button located?
I've checked around a bit but am unable to locate.
Further edit: found it. It is a bit transparent at the top.

[Q] Hide Taskbar?

Edit: [SOLVED]
One of the biggest annoyances I have found so far in ICS is the inability to hide the taskbar, which takes up a lot of screen space in many apps and games, and leaves the picture asymmetric when watching videos.
Is there any way to hide this? I have tried using Gesture Control Root to acheive this but it doesnt seem to hide the bar.. all the other features of the app work fine though.
I am rooted, in WW .17. Any thoughts from you guys would be appreciated, thanks.
[Edit]
Using Gesture Control Root worked fine after using busybox. Finally I have the perfect tablet!
edit:
-sorry, should have been a PM-
How is this solved?

Adding Retro Settings Shortcut Button in Newer Versions of Android?

Remember how, in the older versions of Android, there was a button to get to Settings where the status bar was when you pulled down the notification shade?
Now, you can dedicate a whole tile to it, and it simulates the same affect, except... I don't like it.
See attached picture. There's plenty of space up there to have a little settings button. I hate having to swipe over to the tiles to get to it.
Anyone know how I can get this beloved retro feature back?

If you decompile SystemUI.apk and then make smali edits you can add in the Settings icon and function like you want, check out this guide as a starting point for what you want to do and I would adapt it to fit your needs.

[Q] Enabling Quick Setting Tiles

Can someone please provide me with a walk through on how to enable quick setting tiles? I surfed the forums for about an hour and couldn't find anything specific. The only thing I could find were images of the "torch" quicksetting and using number values to enable them. I used SQLite Debugger (free from the app store) to enable the power saver mode, so that would also be nice to have in my quick settings. Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Finally found "EQS list" thread, but no value for "torch" tile
I believe I saw a flash in the this section which enables wifi tether and also adds all the quicktiles. It was posted by runandhide.
