Sammobile 5.0.2 tar fails after nand write - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Trying to downgrade my Metro s6 from rooted 5.1.1 with twrp... back to 5.0.2 which I've always done on every Samsung phone ... some reason even the official sammobile tar fails in odin after nand write.
Is the s6 not dowgradeable?
You should be able to flash any tmobile s6 tar onto even the metro version ...
I've even tried deleting the .md5

You nailed it. 5.1.1 bootloaders can not be downgraded back to 5.0.2.
Even Samsung warned the users.

 I figured that was something to do with it .... I was just trying to flash the 5.0.2 camera mod for the s6 that apparently only works with 5.0.2 Improving the jpg.. quality much like the s5 had
Some say it works but i haven't tried it .

I know you can't wait to try marshmallow on the i variant. The marshmallow bootloader and modem are meant for F variant. Best wait for unifed S6 rom or official I variant marshmallow.
Loving 14nm Exynos

Can you try 920F VOD firmware and confirm if it is working?
I also have 920I and cant wait to get my hands on MM
Dude I was about to install it but gave up when I realized that would have to use a pit file. I don't want to end up with a locked bootloader if any problem happens

things should happen if you flash incorrect ROM
1 BOOTLOOPS
2 your phone can go down anytime this is if flash pass
3 loosing imei
4 giving you errors during flashing stock
4 KNOX bye bye
5 a nice piece of junk between your hands to smile at it and you know you are screwed because this junk loose signal every Minute
6 every time you see your phone its Like someone saying to you ( hello retard )

are you on 920F VOD? or locked to any carrier?
if not locked, you can flash the unlocked versions of MM 920F, as I dont think you need pit files as some guys have flashed 920F MM over 920F 5.1.1 without pit.
Tried several times with ODIN. Fails everytime. Lost my phone data as well while trying when I formatted everything without a backup. I am a Certified retard!
Ok so myself and also some other people on the Australia post have tried to flash the G920F MM firmware (VOD or XEF) on a G920i and it has never worked - coming from a Custom 5.1.1 Rom or an official 5.1.1.
Odin simply refused to flash the firmware so you actually don't lose any data and don't damage your phone.

Hi
Have your firends and you tried to convert your G920i 5.1.1 to a G920f 5.1.1 first, before trying to update to MM?
I ask because one user up in the thread said that he had successfully flash a Mexico G920f 5.1.1 firmaware to his G920i 5.1.1 phone.... but he did not flash with MM, because he was scared of flashing a pit file...
Thanks!
G920I
I have a Galaxy S6 , G920I model for the other models, or at least for the G920F , the marshmallow was released, how do you have the new update in my G920i ? Who can help me thank you.

From the US and have a SM-G920I

just recently bought a SM-G920I which is an international version of the S6, India to be exact. but i have this through a local carrier in my area. i dont know what is been done to it, but i tried updating through OTA and it prompted me that the OS have been altered, i did notice superuser installed when i bought this phone. note: that i purchased this phone at a place where phones get fixed and traded. so i'm really not sure what has been done to it, by pervious owner or cell service provider.
but it does say "seandroid is not locked" or something like that when phone is being booted and it's at the boot logo
i wonder if i can just flash it back to original stock state and not have any issues?
Those red letters are because the rooted procedure has maybe change kernel.
If you download a fresh firmware for 920i like TTT for instance or the very same from India you will not have any problem though maybe the Knox is already triped
Try flashing a new firmware and perform a factory reset after . That way you won't have any trouble

okay thanks, reason why i was asking is because theres a bug with power button, after 5 to 10 minutes the power button wont turn the screen on or off and right now i cant get into "download mode" goes straight to the recovery, any thoughts?....
1st G920i is not International version. The International model is G920f. Secondly, you have been cheated with a rooted phone. If you are not into custom roms etc. Suggest to return it. As rooted phones have issues with Doze on MM.

international or not, and i don't mind having a rooted a phone, but i do have a problem with not being able to shut the screen on or off with the power button, and also the home button is acting the same as the power botton
ive downloaded the proper firmware for SM-G920I and Obin but nothins is happening, it says fail, because it connect to "com(4) port" something like that
Check if the recovery let's you reboot the phone in download mode. Then you can flash the firmware through Odin.
Once you have all installed you can try downloading an app to lock the screen directly from the app widget

Flashing firmware to Galaxy S6!

Hi all
I have a Sim free Galaxy S6 running Android 6.0.1 BTU, I want to flash it with the Three firmware so I can use VOLTE and the 800mhz LTE. Every time I try to flash with Three firmware using odin I just get a fail.
Infact I was using Android 5.1 BTU and tried to flash Three 6.0 firmware using odin and that failed and soft bricked my phone, so I had to flash 6.0.1 BTU using odin, so I know I can flash my phone, it just doesn't seem to work with the Three firmware for some strange reason
Any help will be appreciated!
Edit: Just saw I posted this in general discussion :silly::silly: my apologies on that part
