For beginners –Using Google Keyboard; the Settings
For modifying Indonesian Dictionary

Google keyboard is present in all Android phones. It is good, and fast, and highly accurate. If you know how to handle this keyboard, it will be your favorite keyboard. Let’s start using the keyboard by tweaking its settings.

The settings can be displayed by long pressing on comma, on the lower left bottom, of the keyboard
On the pop-up menu, touch “Lollipop 123 Keyboard Settings”
you will be presented with the main keyboard settings page
For languages, I use English (US) only. The Indonesian language is not selected for two reasons: (a) this will be incorporated in a separate personal dictionary, and (b) because there is no sliding/gesturing facility if you choose this language. Make sure all other languages are disabled as that will interfere with the smoothness of the sliding.
Preference: well, that is my preference. Make sure to enable Voice Input, as that is the ultimate input method, often better than sliding (will be discussed separately).
Themes: choose yourself
Custom Input Styles: get rid of them all. Delete.
Gesture Typing: I use that settings.
Phrase gesture is a facility to type one word by sliding, and then slide to space key, and slide the next word. I found it not very convenient as I use shortcuts very often.
Text Correction: this is the one that you will use very often, especially the Personal Dictionary. You are presented with several choices in this menu.
Block offensive words: works with English only; this blocks words like “f u c k” etc. But as most phones are used for personal conversation, I don’t think it is necessary to enable it. As I use Indonesian for every day chat, that also does not bother me.
Suggest Contact Names: the keyboard app will read the names of your contacts and will use it in the dictionary.
OK. Let’s start tweaking and touch the Personal Dictionary setting. I mainly use “For all languages” dictionary. Words are added to the English (US) dictionary as you type in the keyboard and added words from there.
In practice, to me, there is no difference whether a word is put in one dictionary or the other. All is treated alike as I only use one language, i.e. English.
When you touch either setting, a list of dictionary words is displayed, together with its shortcut, if any.
I touch the word “abaikan” and a separate page is displayed. Here I change the shortcut to “abaikn”, You may think that it only shorten the word by one letter; but in fact if you use sliding/gesturing, it reduces two strokes. From 6 strokes to 4 strokes, that is practically a 33% increase in efficiency.
Add-on dictionary: make sure emoji is installed, and uninstall other dictionaries.
There are a lot of Emojis in Google keyboard, such as arrows (right, left, up, down), smilies, physical notations (degree in Celsius or Fahrenheit), etc. You will miss that if you don’t install it.
Advanced setting: You can show up the Google keyboard icon in your phone main screen while you are playing with this app. And hide it from the screen when finished.
Back to Text Correction: in the bottom of the menu there is “Next word suggestions”. I usually disable it as it is not good enough and I use mainly Indonesian language (that the Google keyboard can’t suggest).
========================
That is all, friends ...

Thank you for this beginner guide. I will dedicate some time with the Google keyboard now that I have a bit of a clue. I have been bouncing between the Samsung keyboard, SwiftKey, Swype and the Google keyboard, with some uncertainty/anxiety about each.

SwiftKey Flow Beta v4.0.0.54 [Phone + Tablet]
Requirements: Android 4.0.3+
Overview: The team behind Android’s best-selling app today releases the beta of SwiftKey Flow, its hotly anticipated keyboard that enables users to type with gestures.

SwiftKey Flow combines the mind-reading capabilities of SwiftKey’s prediction engine with the speed and style of gliding your finger across the screen. The beta also includes a brand new feature, dubbed “Flow Through Space” . With it, users can write entire sentences without having to lift their finger from the keyboard, simply by gliding down to the spacebar before continuing with their next word.
SwiftKey Flow takes a revolutionary approach to gesture typing, analyzing a user’s input from the moment they start to ‘flow’ a word. It offers real-time predictions, easing the frustration of entering long words and delivering a dynamic, interactive typing experience. The app also features SwiftKey’s award-winning next-word predictions once a gesture is complete, based on the keyboard’s knowledge of a user’s writing habits.
“SwiftKey Flow is another incredible leap forward for keyboard technology,” CTO and co-founder Dr Ben Medlock said. “Flow Through Space is a unique innovation. Accurately identifying several words from a single gesture is a really complex challenge and I’m delighted our team has made this key breakthrough. With SwiftKey Flow, gesture typing is now so simple you won’t have to lift a finger.”
it's not crack, it's public beta release.
download and test in official site here
I can't seem to get flow working on my note 10.1 tab.... it's enabled in the settings... i get the swiftkey kb but cannot flow...
any tips?
Mmmm
Excellent keyboard. Nice
Very good, in comparison with swipe this one works better.
Who can compare this with the new google 4.2 keyboard ? (i can not use the swipe in it because it does not use dutch language).
according to me, not as good as the real swype, especially for the "one letter" word, for the coma...
i mean with swype, you are always swipping. with that one and 4.2 android keyboard sometimes you got to single tap. but it is hard to guess when.
last but not least, when the keyboard does not display the wanted word, how to modify it with flow? i cannot see a list or several proposals... really annoying. may be a later improvement.
so for the moment, i stay with swype.
Working like a charm..thank you! Very fast, indeed.
I've install this keyboard, and I think I'm gonna change swype with this keyboard
This is one of the best stuff that happen to the keyboard innovations, the flow is so perfect that once you place your finger then there is no stopping you, I love swype but I think am obsessed with this lil bad guy called SwiftKey flow. I believe you could type ten thousand words per second if you are as good as me.

Problem restoring Dictionary
Hi,
i got my tablet today and i wanted to copy the backup from smartphone to the tablet.
I copied the backup folder from the smartphone to the tablet and on tablet i clicked restore. success message.. but no new dictionary? :/
There is a 100500 keyboards on Google Play, but now one has a Delete button with the same functionality as real keyboard do.
This is 100501st keyboard with Delete button, such desired button which many people lacked but especially for author.
Keyboard with a Breaking Bad style for fans of this TV Series. Also there is an editor of layout for keyboard with many of settings.
Let's try to mark accomplishments:
- Keyboard with Delete key.
- Keyboard with Delete button.
- Breaking Bad style for fans of this TV Series!
- Possibility to change a size of keyboard!
- Layout editor with many of settings, allowing to specify own buttons position with own value of unlimited length.
- Possibility to save input history in every editable field. Sometimes it's necessary to remember what was wrote in that field.
- Text templates for faster entering of logins, some standard answers, passwords.
- Vibration on key press which is not enough in many other keyboards.
- Dialog window style for tablets to give a possibility to type by one finger. You can scale or move the window in any direction.
- Themes of keyboard can support an animation!
- Word entring without lifting finger and auto space between words. But realization is far away from ideal, so you better don't use it.
- Thems for albom orientation on tablets.
- Entering to fullscreen edit mode.
- Capital letters can write automatically in the begining of new sentece.
- Auto space after punctuation.
And other settings for keyboard behavior.
The most intersting, I guess it is layout editor, I will write it's possibilities shortly, because it is a basic component of keyboard:
- Supporting GIF animation of background.
- 7 settings for general background of keyboard.
- 30 settings for button.
- Possibility of button positioning, which allows to works on devices with absolutely different screen sizes.
Full list of possibilities are here https://bitbucket.org/amartynenko/delboard/wiki/Home
An editor is free, but it is not available for downloading at this moment. It's supporting is too hard. It has a lot of bugs and there is no documentation yet.
Unfortunately I have not enough human hours and motivation to complete it all, because I can't count that 100501st keyboard can become good.
If you want layout editor came out to world, you have to wait for some...
We are supporting onle 3 languages at this moment: English, Russian, Ukrainian

Ever wanted Motorola's Touchless Control on your device, but couldn't have it because you didn't own a Moto X? Vestige has been in development for a little over a year and aims to solve that problem. Oh, and it also uses gesture recognition as well. No root required!
App Description
Vestige is a new way of handling tasks in Android. While not a launcher replacement app, it can be used to launch any application and perform a variety of actions on your device. You can quickly perform any action by drawing a user-assigned gesture on the trace pad or by speaking a single word or phrase. Originally the app was designed to be a voice command only app, but we realized that many people generally do not talk to their phone. To solve this, Vestige evolved to include personalized gesture mapping giving you the ability to perform tasks you would normally do with your voice with just a flick of your finger.
Developed by Riley C. and Jeemin K.
Ways to multitask
Tracer - This is a floating button resembling Facebook's Chatheads and Paranoid Android's HALO))) which will expand to allow you to perform any gesture from anywhere on your device at all times while the screen is turned on.
Native voice recognition - Vestige's built-in voice recognition capabilities gives you the ability to command your phone from anywhere at all times even while the screen is off. It recognizes voice input from headsets with microphone access as well.
Features
Voice recognition
User-defined gesture recognition
Encrypted user data
In the works
Cloud storage
Additional custom command options
Suspended gesture control

I've started to develop Algeo way back when I was in college studying engineering. Builtin calculator apps lack many features one needs in advanced math: variables, complex numbers, predefined constants, graphing. So I decided to build my own, and over the years I've added more and more features. It has basic calculus support now, builtin constants to speed up calculations and effective graphing.
It also has a nicely formatted input mechanism that displays formulas similar to LaTeX, instead of squeezing everything into a single line (see the screenshots below). I've found it much easier to understand when you have nested divisions and square roots.
Features
Physical constants
Symbolic Differentiation
Calculate Integrals (definite only)
Calculate Taylor-series
Solve Equations
Draw function
Sharing calculations
Function plotting and finding roots of functions
Combinatorial functions
Number theoretic functions (modulo, greatest common divisor)
Find min, max, intersections and roots on graphs
Themes (with in-app purchases)

Thanks for your support! Enjoy it!
comparing to other similar apps, it s much smoother
well done ?
I've just released version 2.17! The biggest new feature, requested by many, is displaying graphs with polar coordinates. Until now, only cartesian plots could be drawn but there are many other type of plots (side note: I plan to include parametric functions as well in the future). With polar coordinates, you can draw spirals and circles as well. To switch between cartesian and polar coordinates, click on the top right button in the graph input screen.
All the changes in the new version:
Polar coordinates
Added French translation
Larger keyboard for phones with large screens
Fixed a bug with powers of large exponent
Fixed a bug with stuck keyboard on first start
I've uploaded a new version for Christmas, with a minor tweak: you can now slide the keyboard down. This lets you see more of your calculation history without excessive scrolling. Enjoy!
I really enjoyed the app, it is such a good replacement for my calc when I forget mine at home. Keep up the good work
I just wanted to send an updat, since December several minor version were released. These were mostly small bugfixes, for example sometimes after a parentheses power was placed incorrectly, looking ugly. Also fixed some crashes.
We have introduced an UI change that lets you easier call copy&paste options. Unfortunately, we have so far mixed reviews. If you have any comments on it, we would like hear it!
There is a new version on the play store! Aside from many small bugfixes, a new feature arrived to graphing: it is possible to make the axes always visible on the screen. This is useful if you are inspecting values away from the origin. Also, you can pull the keyboard down so more of the history is visible (this was actually in an earlier release but I forgot to mention it before )
I have included you app in my comparative review of advanced calculator apps.
