WETA Vs. VaderROM (G920F) - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I'm currently running on XtreStoLite, however since it hasn't been updated for a while I'm looking for a new rom.
WETA and Vader seem nice, but I'm not sure which one I should choose.
Any pro and cons for one over the other? Possibly some different rom recommendations?
Thanks

You have to be creative maybe take the best from the 2 roms
Take a look of the wishes from the other roms here on edge forum and make them happen
Just a suggestion
I think the greatest wish is to make the edge screen work under resurrection remix / CM 12.1 but that will maybe be impossible because of the way Samsung has build the edge display function in touchwiz

After so much time and effort dealing with the note edge canadian version I got the tmobile one, I tried a few roms so far and this one is great, Im not a big fun of the edge screen but I really like some of the features like the night clock, I also love the software from the original samsung S6 Edge, everything looks so crispy and good, I dont intent to offend anybody I just want to share what I did because It looks amazing. I installed the rom from this post http://www.echoerom.com/echoe-roms/n4-n910t/ plus the kernel from this thread https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347767709 and it looks fantastic, no fc , some edge funtionalities and I am very satisfied with the way it looks. I use CWM recovery, Im not sure if that makes any diference.

HI Beetle, nope tried the few kernel options we have and no mobile GSM signal, probably just need the modem changing in the romantic as shows unknown baseband, don't think there are and flash able modem files about and not sure what would need to be taken from an existing rom. Perhaps Starbucks or Evan know the answer , was hoping someone might of sorted this.
The rom however is great in all other aspects and would be a worthy addition.

I had the same issue on my n915g, I have a few flash able bootloaders (boe1, bof1 and bof3) and none of them helped. It was very fast for the few hours I had it installed, but I'll stick to note edge roms. I couldn't see the point of the s6 edge, for me it was a little bit of a backward step.

Latest ROM for the T-Mobile (tmo) D6616 Variant

Hey everyone,
I'm curious if anyone knows what the latest Android version of any ROM is for the D6616. Note that I am specifically looking for this tmo version of the Xperia Z3, D6616. I see plenty of ROMs for the other D66xx variants but not much for the T-Mobile D6616.
I'm pretty much stuck on the stock ROM that Serophia devised, which is a good rooted 5.0.2 upgrade ROM from the stock JB ROM, but it would be nice to at least get to MM.
Much appreciated everyone.
-Johnathan
@johnathanamber did you try checking xperifirm to see what was the latest Rom it shows against D6616?
The latest official ROM is the one in on but with a security update.
I was wanting to know if there was a custom ROM with good functionality that I could use to replace the official ROM but be on MM, etc. Something later than 5.0.2.
Much appreciate the reply though.

eXistenZ 5.6.5 for D6616?
I've seen the eXistenZ 5.6.5 around, but nothing about it working for the D6616.
Has anyone had experience with installing this ROM on the D6616?

nop, I on 5.0.2 too, there's no custom rom support for this Z3 variant, not that I really care about cuz is working just fine with stock rom
@chrustoph34,
Definitely agree that the current stock ROM is sufficient and works fine. I'm more concerned about the security updates that MM provides.

Help unrooting and flashing a new rom

Hello, it's been some time since I've last rooted and flashed kernels on my devices. My device is having problems with certain apps and I feel it's time to update my root or change my rom or flash a stock rom etc. Here is what I am using now:
Build: MOAR v6.1 OA6
Software: G900PVPU1BOA6
Hardware: G900P.04
Android: 5.0
Kernel: 3.4.0-3859396
Would you recommend I unroot then flash a stock kernel? What is a new root I can use with this phone? Thanks
I would recommend Odin a fresh stock MM rom. Then boot to the desktop, by pass set up. Go to dialer ##72786# it will do a reactivate and update prl and profile.. Then Odin TWRP, and flash a new rom or your choice.. If you like MOAR then Odin a LP stock rom, and do as mentioned and flash MOAR 7.0 it works best. Right now, I'm running crdroid 3.8.5 baset off of Nouget with 7.1 gapps and it works very well You need the latest MM firmware to run it, and at least TWRP 3.2.1-0-ktle.img If you do flash crdroid download ktledv
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/unified-development/rom-crdroid-t2860894
First off, thanks for the reply. I really appreciate the help. What's the battery life like on MM compared to Lollipop?
I would prefer to use something like a stock rom but just extremely debloated. I also want to be able to play pokemom go without problems and super su keeps giving me problems when trying to play. Do you know of any setups that would allow for pokemon go and are fast, battery effecient, and debloated?

How's the mm baseband? I know the obvious response is updated is better but I experienced better LTE on the firmware I currently have, no idea honestly other than it's lolipop, maybe ok4? I want to upgrade phones but having trouble finding one with sprint newer that can be customized how I like so I'm also looking at playing with this one prior to and after getting maybe a pixel unlocked

I would stick with Lollipop OK4 and flash MOAR 7.0. I to find better LTE and all around connectivity on Lollipop than MM.. I once again, went back to MOAR 7.0 from crdroid.. Crdroid is a great rom, but battery life, sucks, as well as connectivity on calls and data. When in aroma and you get to the point about the kernel, choose don't touch kernel, and finish from there. I never like MM and those are the reasons why.. Crdroid I flashed was 7.0 but naturally on the MM base band, but it was still the same.
Thanks sir nobody could really answer that for me. I found the ok4 of all lollipop got the best LTE where I live, plus I'm on sprint so I'm a bit restricted on ROMs, unified dev leave some bugs with sprints network but not too badly!!

You probably already know, but I will ask anyways. Are you using the KLTEDV version of the unified ROM? KLTE roms does not work very well with sprint.

Thanks! I'll make sure to read which I should use. My daily is still on MM while my old one that's kinda beat up is now on N as it us now the practice phone. Playing with it before Oreo, may stay for a while. And I installed kltespr on both devices as there were still options available for specifically this device with the spr tag. My CM 13 network is fine, no worse than just regular sprint...
Haven't tried the move to either N or O on my daily, worried about the signal discussion. I'll use an old kltespr to test before the newer maintained kltedv if its there probably to see how it goes.

Unfortunately my sprint s5 is one of the phone with that signal issue. I was in the process of changing carrier so to try and fix that issue wasn't worth it for me. My new S5 did not have that issue, when i went to verizon, its a really weird bug.

I think it took a bit to stat with the sprint APN, changed some settings, messed with some stuff, and it seems fine now, I'll have to remember to check back at that before upgrading. I'm on the ok4 baseband

SM-P900 (wifi) with Lineage and stock ROM

I'm going to pick up a Note Pro 12.2 (SM-P900, wifi only) from Craig's List tonight for $150. It'll be my secondary device, in addition to my Galaxy S2 9.7" (SM-T813). I'll use it mostly for media consumption, but I'm also excited to experiment with this thing. I have a couple of questions:
I want to install a custom ROM. If I used Lineage, which version do I download? Based on what I've been reading, it seems that 14.1 is my best bet (1awifi). However, the builds are all nightly, not stable: https://download.lineageos.org/v1awifi . Do these builds tend to be pretty stable? Once you install such a build, how do you update it without having to start from scratch again? Also, is there a good primer? I'm not new to installing custom ROM, kernels, etc. per se, but it's been a while (not since the HP Touchpad---remember that one?).
Are there any other custom ROMs and/or kernels that are worth trying for the SM-P900?
I want to download a stock image, so I can always revert back to that. Which one do I download for the U.S. version of the SM-P900? Pages like https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note-pro/SM-P900/ don't specifically list a U.S. image. Do I use the one for Cellular South (XAR)? Or the one for Canada? Does it matter? Is there a good refresher on this, too?
Thanks!
--Ron
I see I've been a bit lazy by not reading through all the information already on this forum. Apologies!
I'll spend some time going through what's already here and post any follow-up questions.
The only question that I still have is where to get the official stock ROM for the U.S. SM-P900 version.
Also, one more question: What's your preferred custom ROM: Lineage 14.1 or Resurrection Remix 5.8.5?

SM-P900 Official Update Other Than 5.0.2?

Sorry to bother with this, but I´d like to know if there is any official update for this great tablet. Can´t believe Samsung did such a tablet (almost a laptop) and never update it. Mine says "all up to date"... But 5.0.2 is way old... Any ideas not involving complicated root actions?
Thank you very much!
No, sorry. Version 5.0.2 is the latest (and last) version available for the Galaxy Note Pro SM-P900. Samsung won't update it any further. It basically abandoned that tablet a long time ago.
After picking one up from Craig's List, I rooted it and put the latest Resurrection Remix custom ROM on it. That's based on Android 7.1.2. It makes the Galaxy Note Pro fly, and really gives it a second life. Highly recommended!

It's not that it doesn't work well but I guess it would work much better with new version of the Samsung apps and spen features.
I use it to write plays with wps and take notes on my rehearsals. So I could stay on 5 if it is not worth it
