Verizon Users: get 2GB for 1 Year // FREE share plans ONLY // UPDATED! Oct-20-15 - X Style (Pure) General

I am updating this as the go90 I think no longer gives you bonus data!
I just went on chat and spoke with awesome rep she gave me extra 2GB data for 1 year free!
At first I told her I am planning on switching carriers so she offered 50% off line access fee (that would be 20$) but it would extend contract by 1 year, one of my line ends contract in few days so that line will have 25$ off so I said no. Then I asked her what can she offer me to keep me. Then 30 sec later she had 2GB promo data for me! free for 1 year.
as of this moment I have 30GB plan for 130$+2GB data from go90 until January 2016 and then extra 2GB for 1 year starting today!
Code:
DATA - 30.00 GB Shared
+ 4.00GB OF BONUS DATA
How promotion is named: 2GB SHR DATA X 12MOS 2 GB Expires On Nov DayX YEARX
___ Updated Oct-20-2015
I think this is a new promo so try to grab it if you can
According to Verizon if you download & signup for go 90 their kind of buzz feed like service on your phone you should receive txt msg that they added extra 2GB promo data to your account. I just did it still waiting for a txt msg.
PS. I am seeing there might be delays with getting email confirmation to confirm your account.
Picture is not mine credits go to this guy here:

it's free you can remove it as soon as they give you free data. Anyone that is interested let me know when you get the text with free data

Thunderbolt envy

I went to the Verizon store today thinking that I would trade up on my HTC Incredible only to find out that Verizon got rid of the upgrade anytime ability. They said I could get a Thunderbolt, but it would cost me $600.
Oh how nice it would be to have a Thunderbolt. Anyone have any ideas to fight this with Verizon?

Seeing as promotions are not contractual, there's not really anything you can do. All I can suggest is seeing as the T-bolt is SIM based, see if you can get someone to do an insurance claim on theirs saying they lost it and buy it off of them. They might try to blank out the IMEI but the SIM should counteract that.

He would have to activate the "lost" phone to even get a SIM card, which wouldn't happen because the IMEI would already be flagged. Since this is Verizon's only 4G device, how would he go about getting a SIM card? The SIM cards are useless once they've been activated on an account and then replaced with a new one, so using the other person's old one isn't an option.

Actually if he found someone to do the lost phone deal. he could then go buy the cheapest sim-based phone outright, have it set to his account then take the sim card and put it in the t.
But the cheapest one i think is about 200.00 plus any changes it does to the contract (if any) and the at least 90.00 cost for the t's replacement. would end up costing over half the cost of the t and that's only if he gets lucky on the cost of the t

How do you then get a 4G SIM? Verizon's only other SIM based devices are all 3G "world phones" that I'm pretty sure only use the SIM cards when not in the US. Verizon's not gonna say "oh, sure, you want a 4G SIM for your Blackberry.. no problem". Unless, of course, he just never wanted to utilize LTE. I don't know enough about Verizon to be certain, but was an AT&T Mobility Resolution Specialist for a while.. and what you're suggesting would definitely not work with AT&T(given the same conditions of them only having 1 device using the new network). However, how much is an outright USB 4G Modem? NVM, that would not include voice plans, and they'd know something was up when he tried to add one to a modem LOL.. seriously, I dunno if this is possible. Even if it was, would possibly just be easier to save for a bit and just buy the phone.

You are confusing gsm and lte. They arebnot the same. DON'T DO IT! won't get you anywhere + it's insurance fraud.
Could maybe add a line to your acct. Essentially paying $240 over the course of your contract plus $250 for the phone... It's a little cheaper.

You can normally talk people down a bit on CL too. So if you sell your phone for almost $200.. you're really only paying $300 for the phone which isn't bad at all with no contract!

I am not an attorney ... but this seems like quite a fraud. You have to ask (and convince) a 'friend' to lie that they lost their phone. Then you have to lie during the activation process. Seems like a heck of a conspiracy for a few hundred dollars. I would NEVER ask a friend to participate in this type of scam.
On the other hand ... I 'lost' my Thunderbolt.

The down side is that you sign a new contract and are locked in for 2 more years.
But on the plus side, at least it doesn't affect your upgrade eligibility. If you're comfortable with T-Mobile's service it might be not be a bad deal for you

I agree. If you're happy with your service, coverage, data speeds, etc, it might not be a bad deal. In my case, I'm long since out of contract, but am extremely disappointed with T-Mobile service where I now live, so upgrading to a current plan and signing a 2-year contract in the process does not appeal to me.

Selling my Triumph and $25/month plan

Is anyone interested in buying my Triumph and taking over my $25/month plan. I'm looking to get $340 for everything listed below.
What you get:
Motorola Triumph (gently used and in excellent condition)
The original box and accessories
A clear/smoke rocketfish case from Best Buy
A 32gb memory card
I will go online and change the name and the address on the account to yours and give you the login (phone number) and password to take over the account. This is the $25/month plan that is no longer offered anymore (new customers are forced to the $35 plan). It includes 300 minutes per month and unlimited text and data. I am not porting the number out (I use google voice)... you can keep it and change it if you wish.
The account currently paid through 2/2/12. In addition, there is a $35 top up credit in the account which will pay for all of February and part of March. So, this phone effectively comes with 2 1/2 months of free service.
The $25/month plan is a huge plus in this package as it saves you $10/month and is no longer offered.
If you are interested, send me a pm and we can work out the details. I will go to ebay or craigslist if I don't get any offers soon.
Thanks,
mp

Yes you are eligible for a free galaxy tab A 8.0 , however a $10 a month data plan is required for 2 years. If you cancel the data plan, the tablet cost becomes due.
I got offered it in store when I got my note the other day. Told them no because I have an 8 tablet laying around I don't use. When you have a phone that us almost 6 inches an 8 inch tablet is a waste. Now if it and 10 inch I would do it.
I agree with the phone to tablet thing but my last tablet was a Motorola Xoom so I picked one up for my daughter. Its not a bad deal.

I just went in earlier this week, and we were offered a free fourth line for our family plan. since I was jumping from my note 5 32gb to the 64 gb (I ran out of storage lol) we got the tablet for absolutely free, no 10 dollars a month, since the line we added was free. It's not a bad tablet either.

T-Mobile snuck in a huge price hike to unlimited data without telling anyone

Taken from http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/11/9713874/t-mobile-unlimited-data-plan-huge-price-hike
During its lavish Uncarrier event yesterday, T-Mobile drew headlines with its Binge On initiative that will exempt Netflix, HBO, and other video streaming services from customers' data plans. But the company also took the opportunity to raise prices while the world kept its eyes elsewhere. T-Mobile will now charge $45 for unlimited data, up from $30. That means the total cost of the carrier’s "Simple Choice" plan including unlimited data will be $95 for a single line.
In exchange, T-Mobile says it's doubling the amount of data customers can use when turning their smartphone into a mobile hotspot, from 7GB to 14GB, and will give away a free movie rental from Vudu once a month starting next year. The change takes effect on November 15th, but current unlimited data plan owners are exempt from the change. If those customers decide they want to double their mobile hotspot limit, they can decide to pay the extra $15 for the upgraded plan.
T-Mobile CEO John Legere made a point yesterday to skewer competitors onstage for preying on customers with overage charges and tactics designed to push smartphone owners over their data limit. He said overage charges will hit $2.4 billion this year, while telecom companies will collect $45 billion worth of unused data customers end up paying for without needing it. Of course, T-Mobile won't begin charging customers who go over their limit, but Legere and COO Mike Sievert announced the mobile hotspot benefit while being careful not to include details about the price bump.

T-Mobile is also making changes to its lower-tier data plans, though at the overall benefit of customers. For new subscribers of the company's second-lowest data tier, the 6GB plan, you'll pay $65 a month starting November 15th. The plan previously cost $60 a month for only 3GB of data. The 5GB plan, which used to cost $70 a month, now offers 10GB for $80 a month. Existing subscribers get their data limits doubled without having to pay the new price so long as they are on a family plan of two or more users and use T-Mobile's new Family Match pricing, which locks customers into the old prices with the new data limits so long as everyone in the family gets the same size data plan. Yet new customers will still be getting more data for less money on those tiers than they would have previously.
Update at 2:45PM, Wednesday, November 11th: Clarified that non-unlimited data plan owners can only access T-Mobile's double data deal at their current price if they use the company's new Family Match feature.

I'm sure that's for new subscribers tho if you are on the old plan that's how it will stay unless you change it and then you won't be able to go back to the old unlimited plan

If you read the post instead of just the subject line, you would've seen the RED highlighted part stating that already.
That's why longtime customers get "grandfathered" in to their old plans, until they change. It'd be a breach of contract on the carriers part otherwise.
I don't get why people with the old plan make a big deal about it tho it's not like you are gonna pay the new fee leave that for the new customers
I'm thankful I joined just before they did that

Cant agree with you more....
Maybe OP should of worded his header a little differently or added NEW CUTOMERS IJS
If you aren't on T-Mobile, you have until the 15th to get unlimited on the lower prices. So I suggest if you are considering making the move, you do so sooner, rather than later.
I'm still on everything unlimited for 70$ lol

Spoke to a rep and they said anyone who currently has unlimited SC NA will be grandfathered in with the 80 price and we also get our hotspot doubled to 14GB

That's because drama Queens love unnecessary drama. You know the type, the ones that absolutely love their phone when they get it, but as soon as an update is released they cry like it don't work.

To be fair it isn't always the case. For instance the folks on Verizon still sticking with their grandfathered unlimited plans. It won't last forever, and I'm not gonna knock a dude for sharing information.
Yeah it won't affect me but I didn't know about it until he posted about it..
Yeah it isn't necessarily "snuck in" but it isn't not news worthy because it doesn't affect me.

They anounced this at the last uncarrier event they didn't sneak this in. This just wasn't as talked about as the Bingeon stuff. They doubled the tethering to 14gb in the 95 dollar price as well.
