Instagram not saving pictures - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, it's been a week now that instagram doesn't save pictures to the instagram folder anymore.
Normally after the processing is done the picture is saved, but now even after posting it nothing gets saved. It only saves a pic when I take a snap with instagram and then post it.
I'm on cm12
Some help pls
Thx

Same here!
apparently none else does this?

What's the version you are using ?? I've used both 7.8.0 and 7.9.0 - with sultan 5.1.1 caf rom, and on both cases it does work.
I can even add xposed instagram module do download others pictures and also zoom when needed ...
Have you tried to clean data and try again, or remove and add instagram ??

it happened out of nowhere, i didnt change anything and one day i noticed it wasnt saving anymore, only if i took the picture straight with ig
im going to try to find an old version of ig if it works, if not it must be something in my system thats blocking it

I'm also on Sultan's latest build, and currently on Instagram v7.9.0.
Pics just don't get saved in the gallery after being edited or posted.
I didn't change any setting. It started to happen out of nowhere!

Hey @romyrider, did you find any solution to this?

Same for me!
Same problem for me with my Samsung S4 and Instagram 7.9.2. Magically since a days ago my photos are now saved anymore. Any solution?

same problem here

Also for me... COS 12.1 (stock)

[SOLVED]Camera has a weird bug

Hello,
2 weeks ago my phone started to have a strange behaviour:
Every third photo i took was okay, like everytime, but the rest was broken. Basically they wont show any kind of picture information as well as on the device and on the computer.
Im on the latest ViperS ROM and Bricked kernel 1.4, the rest of the device works perfectly.
Any ideas?
Latest vipers? As in the jellybean version? 3.0.0 has no working camera yet. Devs are working on it. If you're on 1.6.3, try a different kernel, or try fix permissions. If these don't help, you might have developed a hardware fault. That won't be possible to fix.
Need to ask. Do you mean it takes a picture but the picture doesn't show up when you go back to look at it or the tags from the image are missing?

The imagefile is there, but it is broken.
By the way, deleting dalvik cache and the normal cache seems to have solved the problem Thanks guys!

[Q] Android 4.3 Camera getting gallery has stopped

Hi,
Thanks for a very helpful forum!
I have installed [ROM] Android 4.3 (JSS15J) on Nexus S in thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380527
Camera works but every 1-4 photo i hangs with message "unfortunately, gallery has stopped" and i have to reopen the camera.
When switching from front to back camera it happens every time. Both cameras work.
Everythins else on the phone works like a charm.
- I'm using TWRP.
- Rooted with UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip
- I have tried different gapp packages: gapps-jb43-20130810-dmd151.zip and gapps-jb43-20130726-signed.zip
- I have reinstalled everything severals times from scratch.
- Before every install i have wiped everything thats possible, cache/dalvik etc.
- Tried different camera apps and they dont produce this problem.
- Tried "Take bug report" several times but nothing happens after that, weird.
Ive searched the internet and read every thread on this forum with similar problems, nothings helps.
If anyone out there know anything i dont about fixing this, let me know
I went from stock 4.1.2 and never had any camera problems.

yes that I use and I don't have any problem
From posts i have read i feel im not alone with this problem, or am i??
Switching from front to back camera makes it FC every time.
Any tip how to dig deeper to find whats going on?
This is how i fixed it!
I changed to this ROM instead.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2402655
And this gapp package:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Much more stable, for me at least.
No more FC when switching camera or taking shots.
Im a very happy puppy!

Camera freezes when I try to take a picture?

Hey!
I'm on cyanogenmod, already tried many camera apps and the only one I got working was snapchat
Does anyone else had/have this problem or know how to fix it without wiping the device?
Thanks for your time.

happened to me once, reboot helped.. but make sure, you are on Dalvik runtime (options > developer settings)
I'm already on dalvik and reboots do nothing
A note: the camera doesn't force close, it's just the preview that freezes when I try to take a picture, if switch to video (btw video recording works fine) and back to camera i can see the live preview again. Sadly, it will definitely freeze again if I try to take another picture.
What kernel have you installed? Maybe you have to flash old camera libs

Much more likely a software issue on your phone specifically.
Tons of people have recently updated to MM and there would be massive reports around the web if WhatsApp broke for a good number of them.
If you're rooted you could try manually removing the app data for the apps after uninstalling. Then reinstall. Could clear cache, etc. Otherwise a factory reset might be needed.
It happen to me something like that , I flashed custom rom(6.0.1) , I cant remember which rom and I flashed another custom rom (6.0.1) , this time everything was ok so it is not about android 6 update . Try to change rom

my phone is rooted, so i might try on it. the same exact thing happened for my girl friend's phone, which isnt rooted.
would appreciate if you can also give me an alternative for that.
Ya happened me but I had a titanium backup of WhatsApp. So I uninstalled it and restored it. Worked perfectly.
When I got the MM update (stock) I then did a fresh install of Xtrestolite ROM and that ultimately sorted any issue I had

Oneplus one running nightly Lineage os reboots after camera is used

Just recently updated to the most recent update of Lineage os for the opo, lineage 14.1 20170717. I'm now having issues with the camera, when I open the camera and close it, it completely reboots the phone. Is this just a problem with this nightly or has anyone else had issues with this? Let me know if you have any suggestions, for now ill just have to revert back to the previous nightly build and hope that works.
Similar camera problem

Similar experience with this nightly build, camera worked fine initially with no changes to the settings on the pull out menu on the left. After customizing these settings my camera crashes on initializing and will not start at all.
to the OP, please report how reverting to the previous nightly is working for you.

I have disabled the camera via settings, apps. and installed Open Camera from the Play Store. This seems to be working fine and I like the Open Camera app.
Is there a downside to what I have done? Yes, I am not very experienced and want to learn.

Sorry for the super long delay (went out of country), the previous nightly hasn't helped at all, im thinking it may be a physical issue with the camera. But im gonna see if i can do what @Foxjet tried and see if that works for me. I'll let you guys know if and when i find a solution.
Even in my OPO running with latest update of nightly bacon, my default camera app keeps on crashing. It says "camera keeps stopping". Please I need a solution for this.

I think you are right, clean flashing would be a waste of time and general pain in the ass.
I clean flashed the July 17 nightly and my camera app did the same thing yours is doing after I customized the settings accessed by pulling out the menu on the left side of the camera interface.
I then installed Open Camera from the Playstore and disabled the original camera app. It's working well.
I recently dirty flashed the July 24 nightly and rechecked the original camera app which still will not open due to crashing, so I disabled it again.
I think there was something listed in the upcoming items for the next nightly about a camera mod that may address this issue.

Thnx for the suggestion. But I tried disabling my camera in SettingsAppsCamera. But the disable doesn't come up. I couldn't disable it. And open camera app doesn't run until i disable this older one!!

In that case, I would consider the previous advice and do a clean flash.
Do a Nandroid backup, back up your contacts, photos, etc separately and reflash. I see there is a new nightly available dated July 31 , I'm going to try it and see if the camera app behaves any differently. I'm not sure at this point if I should let it do the automatic update or download and clean flash.
Any advice from the more experienced ?

Yeah!! Clean flashing the latest update fixed my problem!!
its a bug.. The only way to get it to work is to clear the cache and data cache. Download the Open Camera app or CameraMx.
