I ordered a Nexus 6P. I heard/read that the 810 overheating problem is not an issue with v2.1 of the 810 chip, which is used in the 6P.

Here's a good link.
www [.] anandtech [.] com/ show/9388/comparing-snapdragon-810-v2-and-v21
Seems to indicate better performance and better thermal management.
Had to butcher the link so I could post it.
I will definitely not leave, but that 1.55 um 12.3 MP Sony sensor can be good - I really want to test it myself.

Interesting.... I realize those high-res screens must require a lot of GPU... but I'm going to give the engineers who developed the 6P the benefit of the doubt.... hopefully the reviews will be good. Most everything I've seen so far has been positive... except for perhaps the lack of wireless charging and OIS.... but OIS may not be that big of a deal given how good the camera seems to be (so far), and personally I don't think the lack of wireless charging is a big deal either.
Really looking forward to those in-depth 6P reviews.....

Dude, S6 has fastest CPU, true, but touchwiz ruins it
why would you? first of all the S6 is just half a year old, so i don't think anyone would sell it for something else, second, the s6 has a better camera, style, screen?, cpu...why would you downgrade? just for stock android? and i am talking about the 6p, the 5x is not in the same league....even if i had the money i won't replace my S6 with a 6p, don't get me wrong it's a great device, but this year, unlike every other year before it is a bit different, the devices that came out at the beginning of the year are as good as the ones came end of the year, no upgrades at all....so i would say the ones that came late won't sell much....still this is a nexus device, and there is a lot of audience for it....so it will sell a lot...

I would definitely sell for the 6p. This phone has been a nightmare for me. There was a lot of hype for the s6 and while a lot of the features are great on paper, I find my HTC One m8 was a much better experience. I'm very excited to sell this thing and get something else. While it may downgrade some features, I'm sure the build quality and speedy updates will be worth it.

it's up to you off course, if speedy updates is more important then yes......the build quality of the S6 is on par with the 6P...

I'm not sure how you could compare the build quality like that without it having been released yet :/ and samsung has near the worst build quality I have ever seen while huawei is pretty well known for their build quality.

Hi all ,
I know that question maybe already posted many times here in the forums but still can't find an answer
I might give my little brother the Galaxy Note II i have now - which is the best device i ever used BTW - and start searching for a new device to get ,,, although i like HTC ONE and Xperia Z but Samsung devices has another taste with the ton of features they put into the phone
as the Note 3 expected to be around 1000USD which is a very high price and won't get a better price soon so i have to stick with Galaxy S4
The question is , Which one shall i get ? 9500 or 9505
4G isn't available yet at my country and don't care about it that much ,,, most reviews said that the 9500 Octa is slightly better than SD600 one , also found that camera in 9500 is better than 9505 but i guess that this is all software issues
Which one gets official updates from Samsung 1st ??!! which one is supported more from developers here in XDA ??!!
Please help me with your experience with both devices
Thanks

It really depends on how you plan to use the device, but if you plan on running CM or AOSP ROMs the choice is clear: 9505 all the way. The Exynos Octa is a bad joke at this point (no flames please) because of the problems inherent in the hardware that cannot and will not be fixed. I will never touch another Exynos based device with a ten foot pole.
I already have the new Nexus 7 , so i can taste the pure JB & Kitkat at it
I like the features that Samsung added in top of Android and TouchWiz UI
I remeber that i tried CM at S3 and Note II for a few days and i was back to the stock ROM so i guess that i will note use the CM or AOSP that much
Is this the only problem with 9500 and Exynos or do you recommend 9505 in general for other reasons

That's it, the hardware problem he mentioned is the cpu's inability to use all 8 cores at the same time, only 4 at once, but the performance is still super fast and it has better gaming performance than the 9505(that's what i've heard at least)
But the 9505 always gets updates before the 9500 as far as i know
But if i were you i would be saving for the note 3, its the best option for you, i know it might be too expensive but if you find any other way to get it cheaper then dont hesitate, i dont think you will be comfortable going from a galaxy note 2 to an s4

i already feel that moving from Note 2 to S4 isn't a good decision ,,, although the 1080p Screen and faster performance in general but there is something strange about Note that u can't imagine yourself using other device :good: but right know it's the only option for me
i will have to wait at least 3~4 months to get the Note 3 in a reasonable price ,, if i can live with the Xperia Mini and New Nexus 7 i will till i can get the Note 3
9505 is getting the official updates before 9500 ??!! interesting , i thought that Samsung keep both updated at the same schedule or with month or month and half max or 9500 is updated first as it's the international version
still can't decide which one shall i get
i hate Samsung for this kind of thing

No, the difference in updates its like a week or two, and youre right there is something about using notes that makes it hard to use smaller devices
Its definitely the screen size, i personally wont buy a phone with a screen size smaller than 4.7, ive been spoiled lol
And the performance difference between the note 2 and the s4 wont be that big
Now the performance difference between the note 2 and the note 3 will be enormous, if youre going to upgrade then that's an upgrade
I would keep the note 2 until the 3 gets cheaper or sell the 2 to buy the 3

i am forced to leave the Note 2 to my brother as he needs a new device and mine still as new and i found that it's a chance to get a new phone ,, he will pay me of-course for the Note 2 and don't like that we both have the same device if i or him got another Note 2
but still the Note 3 is double the price as Note 2 and it will be a waste for money to get it while it's launch and watching it's price drops in front of my eyes
i was thinking that i can get S4 for now and after while when Note 3 price is good enough i sell the S4 for Note 3 but i found myself can't choose between 9500 and 9505

The hardware problem (CCI-400 issue) is what the SoC runs on cluster migration and not on core migration.

You'll be very happy with the I9500 then. Thoroughly enjoying mine, not bothered about custom ROMs and all that personally, ran stock with no issue on both my GS2 and GS3, doing the same with the GS4, although I did experiment with the GS2 a bit, but went back to stock.
The benefits of I9500:
Sony Exmor RS camera sensor with [email protected] slo-mo vid
HEVC H.265 codec support
Wolfson DAC audio chip
Very powerful
Great batt life
will it's still confusing , some reviews says that the SD600 is better others says that the Octa is better
almost all reviews agrees that the Octa is better in Camera , Sound and overall performance , after Samsung software updates the heat was gone from the Octa version and device performance is more better now
Battery is better at the 9505 but i guess it's OK with me ,, moving from Note 2 3100 to S4 2600 battery is a disaster any way so it's not a big deal the difference between 2 devices
still can't find info about software updates , Which device receives updates first ??! 9500 or 9505 ?!
the difference in price isn't that much it's around 50~60USD so it's not a big deal
Confused
Update :
Found articles stating that Exynos 5 Octa uses an Imagination PowerVR GPU and this GPU doesn't support OpenGL ES 3.0 which is supported in Android 4.3 but the SD600 Adreno 320 is fully OpenGL 3.0 compatible and i guess that this will have a differance in games that needs OpenGL ES 3.0 and overall graphic performance
I had white 9500 from june, two days ago i decided to take the balck colour, soo this time i went with 9505, all i can say they are almost the same on daily use, didnt try hard games on 9505 yet, 9500 was great device, i havent any issue with that, reason why i took 9505: open gl 3.0 support, more devs, open source SOC, but i can never say 9500 is bad, both are awesome

Well with the Galaxy S5 only a few months away now, as i don't believe it launch in January more like late March early April, who plans on changing from the Note 3 to the S5?
Rumors so far for the S5 are
5.25" QHD 2K screen with over 500ppi
3GB of Ram
Snapdragon 805 chipset
32GB as standard
16mp camera with OIS maybe
4K video without any limits
Premium body instead of plastic
If these specs turn out to be true, would you be tempted or will you hang on for the Note 4 in September?

For me to switch the S5 has to be different in a lot of ways. Preferably better looking, and now after having a 5.7inch screen... going back to something smaller won't cut it for me right now.
I went from S3 > HTC One and avoided the S4 because it wasn't much different to the S3 looks wise

After many years I playing around some Android & iPhone
I would be stick with Note Family ( Note 2 / Note 3 / Note 4 ).
S Family ( S2 / S3 / S4) did not suit me enough.

I could not go back to a smaller screen. Nor will I give up my Spen.
- The metal casing rumour has already been killed by Sammobile&DigiTimes: Nobody is producing them. And it would make no marketing sense to heed the wishes of a few over the purchases of millions. Wishful thinking, the Note 3 was also 'certain' to have a metal case. Mine doesn't, does yours?
- It's just going to be an 2.5Ghz S800, not an S805.
- No curved display either.
Other than the screen, battery and spen, the specs are identical to the Note 3. As much as I would like 2K on my phone, imagine the battery drain on the by default much smaller battery, and lag. The Galaxy S lineup has always lagged. Adding 2K will only make matters worse...
Now i have mini 2 for almost one year and really i like it it have NFC but i wish Samsung release ics or jb for it so i can use NFC for beam beam and now i'm on cm10.1 kitkat soon but i'll gonna buy Nexus 6 i think when it released really i love nexus family

I agree that increasing the resolution and ppi could cause lags. IMO it is not productive at all. We already cannot see pixels, and my Note 3 screen shows exactly same area, if I open an excel sheet, or a map, or a book, as my i9305 S3 with 1280x720 screen.
I do not agree that Galaxy S lineup laggs. That's maybe true, but the reason is Touchwiz. Your own fault if you stick to it. I am running CM on my S3, and it flies. With CM 11 I don't think there is any difference compared to iPhone. Well maybe just sometimes .

Its diffrent for all people are you more of themer guy? Get a nexus 5 as the most roms , xposed works with it.
If you just look for a good quality go for HTC One M8
If you love taking pictures go with the Note 4.
etc.....
Yes, really strange to hear the s5 was lagging for you enough to get rid of it. As for the iphone 5s, what price are you referring to? The 6's are coming out in two days so the price is very fluid right now. Are we talking $200, $400? Since Samsung and LG are out for you, how do you feel about Google, HTC?
Always attempt to avoid Apple, their products are expensive and overrated for their performance and their iOS system is so extremely closed-source that you can't really do much effective tweaking at all.
Just my 2¢.

the s5 you speaking, is snapdragon version, and its even available in india, snapdragon s5 doesnt lag, i used it.. actually exynos version is fully crap, 90% apps are not optimized for crap exynos, those are using exynos(if they are not able to upgrade smartphone)then probably they will always say exynos better, but i bet you, if marquies brownlee do review on s5 exynos variant, he will say 1 good point and 90% bad points...
+ still not 4.4 and no performance improvment update,
i am not saying samsung is crap, but tradition to india is so bad,
who cars about exynos, today world of snapdragon.. even developers phone are snapdragon may be nexus 5..
samsung need to change..

no i dont like taking picture, i like joy in OS, without lagging, i like touchwiz but indian samsung phone with exynos not fully optimized cause lag, some people notice and some not( i am heavy user so...)
i like sense too, very smoother response..

That's somewhat true, but not entirely. The worst thing about Apple devices for me is that they don't have problems too often, but when they do, they have no recovery mode or anything to fix the problem yourself. You absolutely always have to go to an Apple store to get a so-called "tech wizard" to help you out or to give you a new device.
Not so good.

Honestly Good phone but bad service,
I mean suppose today I buy z3 after 4 months they make new smart phone, they forget previous smartphone like they never made, just look at their Advt and social media, when they launch new then forget previous model like that is manufactured by other company,
And if we buy z3 their price in our country fall quickly and resale value is like no value.. It's good phone but there are many things company needs to do than manufacturing

I want a new device
i do gaming
bigger screen = better
i want high quality display
i play game's, i want fast SoC and good graphics !
i wan't the device to have a wide range of CustomRoms and other stuff
good battery life :| but if it doesn't have it i can deal with it, just not less than my nexus 4 ! (around 4 hours :S with lowest brightness)
also, i had 2 Samsung phones, first one was note, it had LOTS and LOTS of scratches,i send it to warranty for motherboard problems one time, after i sold it, the guy told me it won't turn on again, after that i didn't have phone for a while and i got s4 instead of nexus 4 (long story why,) it sucked and it was laggy (at touchwis only + gallery) so i sold it ! and bought nexus 4
i don't feel like trusting samsung again, should i ?
price is also important, i have money. but i will pay if its worth it ! i mean... i want to save it for future!
currently im thinking of waiting for nexus 6, but it doesn't have snap 810
i also wanted to see what else is coming or what i can buy right now :|
and also i was thinking of getting an tegra k1 tablet !
++ i like the device to get dangerously easily rooted :|
sorry i already posted this on the wrong forums :S
i thought i would get like 1000x replies by now

if nexus 9 gets available here i will buy it ! or maybe just keep my nexus 4 and buy a windows laptop/tablet
i sent my lg flex 2 back to currys and pc world for a full refund as i was getting really bad overheating problems unless i was rooted so i can eaither rebuy a flex 2 and hope that this one wont overheat as someone else did that on this forum and it didnt overheat or i could just get my refund and buy a whole new phone altogether, i am think the oneplus X but if there are any better phones then that could you please leave it in the comment down below as i dont know what to chose from
(Budget is 220)
Check out Xiaomi Mi4c, u can get 3/32GB version for about $220.
It's Snapdragon 808 so performance very close to Flex 2 and it doesn't overheat.
No SD slot but 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is plenty imo.
I had mi4c and kinda regret i sold it and got Flex 2...
Oneplus X is much slower but has very nice build quality, also plenty of development on xda (custom roms).
Flex 2 will overheat no matter what because it's older Snapdragon 810 revision.
got my missus a redmi note 3 pro, which has the SD650 chipset and is very fast, @80,000 for antutu. It seems very good so far and has really good battery life, 10-11 hours screen on time here, and is very cheap. Only thing I've had to do to it is turn off memory optimisation in developer settings because it was killing apps in the background at an insane rate, making downloads fail, home screen redraws etc.. the other thing is it might not support 4g on certain networks, you'll have to check
best bit is if you drop it, you don't care

General Tips for Buying Used Phones.
Don't have any tips on a specific replacement phone, but when shopping in general Swappa is a good place to find cheap phones (and is the official marketplace for XDA.) This is where I'd look first thanks to the support and generally good community.
I actually picked my G Flex 2 off of a Craigslist ad for $130 USD and saw several other 2015 phones under $200 in my area; excellent prices can be had but no buyer protection this way. If you take this route, make sure to get pics of any damage if not listed, ask if anything is wrong/everything works, and recheck everything in person before the purchase. Request phone to be charged so you can use the phone hands-on and make sure the OS is functional; check the software version in system settings and look for signs of root apps (mine was rooted by the previous person so I immediately reflashed stock ROM and rooted myself once home, just to be sure nothing nasty like spyware or a device recovery app was left behind on there.) Bring small accessories too that you want to make sure will work like USB cord with charger, headphones, NFC tag, etc. Most importantly, arrange to make the phone purchase at the phone's carrier store. I scheduled the purchase to be at a Sprint store for my LS996 so I could verify with them if the ESN was blacklisted or clean, or if there was anybody else who had the phone on their account (active or inactive.) I could've asked for the MSL code and official Unlock to GSM Domestic once confirmed clean by Sprint but I've made the phone work on AT&T GoPhone LTE without it using the guide here.
Regardless of you go through, make sure to take all reasonable precautions to make sure the phone works and will suit you. Pay attention to the seller's attitude too: typically honest sellers will accommodate most requests and dishonest ones may question you or refuse your requests. You may also get a dishonest seller that is eager to rush the sale if they sense you aren't catching something wrong with the purchase - honest sellers will generally be patient if you show genuine interest in buying.
You made a mistake to give it back .for the price flex 2 is the best out there. As for oneplus x it has the 801 snapdragon that means an older processor like the original oneplus.
And one advice from a fellow "performance freak" . dont rely on benchmarks only they are a useful tool to check performance but everyday use is a better factor. For example:
One of the fastest phones out there is samsung s7 exynos version.
But it has a slower gpu than the snapdragon820 version.
In Geekbench for example the exynos version gets far better scores. In every day use the single core performance matters at most. Multicore is for gaming mostly.
In antutu the snapdragon version gets better scores because of the better gpu.

Mi4c is better.
The screen is terrible on the g flex 2. But it has a far better camera then the OnePlus x.
Also i'd pick Snapdragon 801 over 810 anyday. The battery drain is ridiculous with the 810.

I think the opo x have better updates, but if that is not important for you... take a flex2.
Any way take a look at findyourperfectphone.com, have a chart with phones filtered for price/value, and one expert mode to see all phone with the aspects that you want...
