Dears,
I'm editing a custom ROM based on Android 4.4.2 for Rockchip chipset.
The original ROM comes with a default chinese keyboard.
I removed the related apk but after flash, at 1st run, I have no keyboard until I go to input settings and I open Android's AOSP keyboard settings.
How can I set the AOSP as default keyboard in the firmware before packing it in order to have AOSP active right after flash?
Thanks a lot!
go to phone settings, then language input. there have option to select keyboard if you have a keyboard application. if you dont. then go to play store. download keyboard apps like swiftkeyboard, touchpal etc.

With the AOSP google keyboard you have a specific libkeyboard.lib file to be placed inside lib folder of system.
That is what you are missing here

Ok I Use Wolfbreak Rom And I Cannot Write Chinese . The Application In Market Is So Many To Choose . Which Is The Best .
I Want The Keyboard Like Normal Phone Keyboard Not The QWERTY Keyboard .
I reinstall the stock SE-Chinese text input
However I would recommend HKIME from the market, it supports more input methods.
Stock Chinese input uploaded inside the WinRAR file
stock SE-chinese text input in the best that I ever use..
just put the .apk into the system/app, then edit the permission
[tick] [tick] [untick]
[tick] [untick] [untick]
[tick] [untick] [untick]
then restart, then the setting will be in the Language & keyboard in Setting

I've uploaded for you in 2nd post
I just installed the apk directly and it works like charm =)
Edit: To be honest I would love to have the Samsung Galaxy S's Chinese Keyboard app ported, it's pretty amazing
Ok I Install. Already but cannot use.

First enabled the text input you installed in setting - language and keyboard.
Then in your messaging, long press in the text input, should pop up an option, just select the one beside android keyboard.
I using touchpal from market,ok for me.
Hi to all!
I managed to compile an aosp 2.3.4 rom but dictionaries (either english and italian) are missing to use with gingerbread keyboard. how can i include all dictionaries usable by keyboard compiling on aosp?
thanks
This is one of the flaws in Android. I can't believe there are no options like language packs which can be easily added after compiling. I've seen posts and tutorials on this.

Here is what I found:
Some info on the android keyboard and the issue:

http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=1827
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1027207
Here is the exact keyboard but with some additional language packs which, unlike Google's, can be added later:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.moo.android.inputmethod.latin.free
I believe there is already a few submits to Google about this very issue and they will have most languages as an option language pack from their menu which you can choose to install. I hope that's coming up in Ice Cream Sandwich

I managed to get dictionaries from cyanogenmod and at the momento i'm triyng to add root and superuser.apk on the build (but in compilation, not pushed after). But, just last (stupid question): how i can obtaion from compilation apart all the img generated also a flashable zip? thanks
edit 1: when i will finish, and the phone doesn't explod, i'll post what i did...
Hi there,
Got a Note locally here in Hong Kong and it came preinstalled with ZSKK1. I played around with it a bit and quite liked the DioPen Chinese IME that was built in.
I have since then flashed Sheep ROM, which is considerably smoother. However, I'd like to have the DioPen CIME.
Would it be possible to pull the DioPen apk from system/apps and the .SO file from system/lib from the HK rom and put them in their respective locations in my device? This is how it worked on the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Or is there another way to get it on? Otherwise- any suggestions for handwriting Chinese input?
Thanks!

Download the files fm post one. It should helps you out.
Another alternative that I m using is Go keyboard fm Market. It's a good chinese writing input too.
With Go Keyboard, it is much easier to switch between Chinese and English keyboard (which is very tedious with the stock IMEs). However, I feel that the recognition is not as good. There are several words that I have to draw many times before I can get a hit.
Try TouchPal V5 Input which is free from market, work great and so far I found it is the best for both English and Chinese handwriting input.

I installed the Touchpal keyboard. i found a strange problem. Every night I power off the phone. next morning, when I power it up, the touchPal settings will be lost. everyday I need to re-check the Traditional Chinese check box, or else it will start writing simplified characters. Very annoying.
The "Diopen Chinese IME" here not working in AlBa ZCLP5 ICS Middle Rom, anybody got a fix or new version? Thansk!!!

OK, I got it. Get 'SamsungChineseIME App' from Midnote, put it in system/app of AlBa. Both keyboard and handwriting work perfectly. Hope it will help the others need Chinese Input.

Can you post the files? the midnote link is no longer avail. Also, do you know if the SamsungChineseIME.apk file is the same as the one from chainfire's LP1 ics repack? or the LP6 repack?
Go keyboard has been used as a substitute with a custom rom
Its nice

this version is the old one, you need the better newer one.
Hey guys. Yesterday I became owner of Galaxy Tab 2 7.0". It's my first tablet and I 'm quite happy so far. I installed with odin the 4.2.2 stock version and rooted it . Since all my other devices are running custom ROMs, I decided to stay stock with this one.
The only problem is that Samsung decided not to implement multiuser support for the Tab 2, and I desperately need it for my device. So I installed xposed framework and Modaco Toolkit module to enable multiuser support. After rebooting the device, the Users option appeared in the settings section as expected.
I created a new user and set it up with its own gmail etc. The problem is that when pressing the power button, there should be the existing profiles to be able to change the user from there. Right now I can't change users as expected. Is there a way to be able to change users since their profiles exist? Maybe through a script? Any help would be highly appreciated :fingers-crossed:

Thanks for the reply. There is no way from there to change it, neither from the lockscreen.

I do have it (via the Modaco Toolkit module for xposed framework in a stock rooted rom), but what can I do from there on to be able to change back and forth?
I am using Nova Launcher and can add "User Switcher" to the power button in Settings/Buttons.

How exactly is this related to Nova Launcher? This submenu is in your ROM's settings...
Hi,
maybe you don't like Google Now because of your privacy vor because you can't have extensions.. Then CMHome is for you! It's Cyanogenmod's Open-Source alternative to Google Now.
It should work on all KitKat Roms.
1st install CMHome.apk, THEN install Trebuchet.apk. after both installed, long tap on homescreen, swipe settings up and at Search Screen select CMHome.
Download:
CMHome: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iex2ov8e19o7ah7/CMHome.apk
Trebuchet: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4tn59ypma29opyn/Trebuchet.apk
Tested on Moto G Stock ROM unroot → working.
INFO: Both APKs were pulled from cm11 nighly from 2nd August 2014 for Nexus 4. Both apks aren't modded, so all rights go to cyanogenmod. It's just an apk share
Have fun, Xorg
Hi thank you,

Hey, I have install CMHome and after I've tried to install Trebuchet, but the second one doesn't install
Might be a stupid question but do you need root to apply themes? Launcher force closes when trying. Galaxy s4 4.4.2.
