[Completed] Blocking ads without rooting - XDA Assist

Is there a way to block all ads (on wifi and data) without rooting?
Tried AdBlock Plus but the ads are blocked only on wifi connection.

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
If you have a custom recovery flashed on your device like TWRP or CWM this is the best solution for your needs
Good luck!

I don't have root on my device.

I was refering to the recovery not to the Root

I have the original ROM, no recovery.
If this way does not require root can you tell me the steps to create a custom Rom and how this will help me stop the ads?
Thanks!
There is no guide for Moab, just some generic things like:
>>> How to install?
Just Flash in Recovery (CWM) and Thats It. ENJOY

Thanks, rahulbarai.
Adblock works only on WiFi [on non rooted devices].
Tried Adguard but their free version is for browsers only.
I need something that can stop all ads, including annoying ads in games or apps.
EDIT: Adguard seems to block some ads in games too.

These are the only methods to block ads on non rooted devices because the better and the best way to block them is where the hosts file is modified, and the host file can't be modified without root... Even if you modify it and then push it through adb, the permissions will still be wrong.

[Q] Can my apps still work if I remove google play store?

I bought a ZTE V967s for one reason: to keep a portable listing of my home library with me so I don't keep buying duplicate books at sales. I rooted the phone and installed Max Flavour.
I'm wondering if I can download the few apps I need associated with my library software onto the sd card and then flash Max Flavour slim without gapps? The apps I need to run are not put out by Google.
Thanks for any help. I'm a very new newbie, but many thanks to Carliv for an excellent YouTube video that allowed me to root my phone!

You can uninstall using titanium backup and no need to reflash rom for gapps issue. If you need gapps, later you can install too

[ROOT ANDROID][2.x-6.0] KINGROOT: The One-Click Root Tool for Almost All Devices

PLEASE READ
Rooting carries a risk and may void your device's warranty.
Google Security may block the installation of Kingroot. Either choose to "Install Anyway" or disable your internet connection to continue.
There is both an Android version and a PC version available. Please be aware that the PC version may flash a third party recovery onto your device.
In case Purify isn't something you need, it can be easily removed.
If you uninstall KingRoot, you will lose root access. Reinstalling and re-rooting should be a simple process, however.
While you certainly can replace KingRoot with SuperSU, we can't guarantee success.

More information can be found below.
------------------------
INTRODUCTIONKingRoot is an amazing tool for anyone wants to obtain root. Whether you don't have enough experience for more advanced methods (or there are no other methods available), or you prefer a one-click solution, KingRoot is here for you. It's also completely FREE to use!
While rooting with Kingroot, the most suitable root strategy will be deployed from cloud. This method ensures your device will be rooted, if a strategy is available. Most of our supported devices boast a success rate higher than 60%!
------------------------
DOWNLOADS
Download KingRoot 5.3.7
MD5 Hash:
e11eb2dae8620f28d11328a80385c8a6
Get KingRoot PC in English
Visit Purify
If installed, Purify will help your device run faster, cooler and longer by killing resource-hogging background apps and preventing them from auto-starting. There is also a feature to help you organize and archive your notifications. Go try it out.
Many of Purify's features require root. However, there are still plenty of things it can do if root is not available.
Download Purify on Google Play
------------------------
MORE INFO
What's Installed
SU Binary -- This is required to obtain superuser (root) access. It's generally installed to /system/xbin.
Purify -- You can find more information about this in the downloads section. It will be installed to /data/app/.

PC Version >>> Direct Download
The PC version of KingRoot is more powerful than the Android version. If the mobile app isn't able to root your device, you may have more luck with this, especially if you own a Samsung device.
If there is no available root strategy for your device
Be patient! We are working to ensure as many devices as possible can enjoy root. If our app fails on your device, please use the in-app request system (which is automatic in later releases). Posting here won't speed the process up or give you special treatment. Success/failure reports are also automatic, so there's no need to post here about those, either.
------------------------
Information Collection
There is some discomfort about KingRoot's data collection, but there's nothing to worry about.
If you are afraid we're taking your IMEI to use it to make a counterfeit phone, don't be. We have no interest or knowledge in that matter.
Data collection is for more accurate deployment of available root strategies. We need to get some information about your device and the software running on it in order to provide you with the most successful root strategy we have for you.
While we do collect your IMEI, it is encrypted in transit, and only used to accurately calculate the success rate of our root strategies.
This information is not saved on our servers; it just isn't worth the trouble. We have a lot of users downloading and using our app. To host all that information, we'd need to spend large sums of money for server space, and that just isn't practical for a free service.

FAQ
Q: Why KingRoot can not be removed ?!
A: This situation always happened on some devices with system protection mechanism such as SONY, HUAWEI and so on. Sometimes, root strategy only can close these system protection mechanism temporarily during root process. That's why KingRoot can be installed. However, after root finished or device reboot, system protection mechanism will enable again. After that, system can not be mounted. That's why KingRoot can not be removed.
Q: What can I do if KingRoot can not be removed ?!
A: If you can not remove KingRoot , please try to force stop KingRoot, clear data of it and root device with KingRoot again. Then unroot it immediately.
Q: All questions about SuperSu !
A: Please click here for answer.
Q: How to improve root success rate (Especially for ZTE Zmax)?
A: Click here for answer please
Q: Why the desktop version can be better?? And which CUSTOM RECOVERY does it install?? Will it trig KNOX??
A: Because of desktop version not depends on system exploit but to flash a Rom with Su binary, it's more easily and violent. CUSTOM RECOVERY includes CWN and some self made recovery which developed by ourselves or our partner teams. And we have a reason to believe that desktop version will trig KNOX
Q: Does KingRoot on Samsung trig Knox flag to 0x1?
A: Click here for answer please
Q: Can KingRoot root the phone with wi-fi and mobile data turned off?
A: No, it downloads the best exploit for the device, on the fly
Q: Which permissions does this app exactly ask ?
A: Permissions of KingRoot required all can be seen when you install it. We need so many permissions because some root solution need to be run on them.
Q: What is the benefit of paying coders for support if the app is free?
A: We sponsored by one of the biggest IT company of China, lots app of them need to get root access through us.
Q: How to replace KingRoot with SuperSu?
A: Click here for answer please(I'm not sure it can work perfectly and may be cause some unknown errors)

I just checked for you. Your device not be supported yet. We will continue do more work on it. Thank you very much~
I am trying this on my sch-i535pp.
The previous versions (4.0) would cause the device to reboot and an orange android symbol. Hopefully this version works
I'll update this after I see.
Update:
"Root failed, no strategy is available."
I will help make the English better if needed
Kernel build date is July 22nd 2014.
Android version 4.4.2.
I would have root right now if I did not have a locked bootloader...
Darn you Verizon!!!!
Thanks for developing this free root application
Can't wait until the new exploit is working perfect.

Failed the first two times. I rebooted to recovery and wiped cache and re-installed the new english kingroot and it worked like a charm.
Nice job on the implementation of ping UAF (use after free)
Request for Z667 / Z667T / Z667G support, though that might a problem for development/testing because this model is apparently not sold outside of North America.

[Completed] How to root an android device and get super su

Hi guys I know this is a very simple post but since I'm new to forums I thought I would just start with this.
So let's get straight to the point you will only need to download two apps to get root access and have ultimate control over your Android device these apps are all you need:
•Root all devices = I'm a new user and can't post links so just download in play store.
•Supersu =
I'm a new user and can't post links so just download in play store.

You can't add or remove anything from system without root.
Some malware has been known to install files/apps into system, but that is very specific and depends on the device having certain vulnerabilities.

I can't give specific instances with specific specific apps on specific devices. It wouldn't matter even if I could because specific instances have nothing to do with understanding how or why malware gets into system.
It all depends on what is built into the malware and what vulnerabilities there are in the device's kernel.
A generic example is Kingroot, it's an app that is used to root devices, it is well known to install malware and extra apps into system when it is used.

Few questions about rooted device

Hello everyone.
I have recently rooted my tab S6 LTE by flashing TWRP. I have done it for gaming purposes and to boost my device performance.
1-Which rom/kernel should I use for best gaming experience ? I heard I can reach 70 fps. What do i need to do to achieve that ?
2-My safety net fails on CTsProfile, how can that affect my device?
3-What modules should I download that would boost the games performance?
4-Is it possible to create a full backup using TWRP without pc/external storage ?
5-I tried to install rom manager but it says this app was built for a different android firmware, is there anyway I can install it and have it fully functional?
6-What are some recommended/useful apps I should use on a rooted device ?
7-Is there any app that speed ups the ads on apps with
out disabling them so I can still claim the rewards?
Is there anyway I can add Samsung pass to magisk hide ? I can't find the app since it doesn't have a physical icon after the last update
Extra info ; I'm using android 10
Thank you in advance
TL;DR
Split this thread in appropriate single ones.
Any answers please
What is this useless website ? I thought XDa were one of the best and oldest ios/android websites ?
Bull****, you're not even half as good as github
