[Completed] Soft bricked Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 - XDA Assist

Recently I was trying to flash a firmware to update from Android Jellybean 4.3 to 5.0.1 lollipop. Ended up soft-bricking my phone.
Here's what I have already tried:
1. Do not tell me to change the USB cable/port, as it worked completely fine to root my phone the day before it got bricked.
2. I downloaded what (I think) is the stock firmware of my phone, and tried to flash it with Odin (3.07, 3.09 and 3.10.6) and a PIT file. (Gave an error without the PIT)
Here's the logs of what happens:

It fails, and nothing happens. Sometimes on the phone's screen, it also shows "SV REV. CHECK FAIL : fused : 4, Binary : 3" in one of the lines. Not sure what it means.
3. I tried flashing the PIT file without a PDA, and it succeeds, but then it gets stuck in the start-screen boot loop.
4. I cannot go into recovery mode, I've tried it but it didn't work. (Home button + Power + Vol Up.) I can only go into download mode..
Please help me.

Well.. ever since it was bricked, I can't seem to find it in the device manager at all, though Odin does seem to recognize my device.
Also, I reinstalled Samsung Kies and the drivers several times, but it always gets stuck on "connecting device" each time on Kies.

After trying to update Kies drivers once more, now it shows under Modems as "Samsung Mobile USB Modem #5"

After updating drivers with an ADB-based toolkit, it doesn't show in the device manager again.

Someone please help.. I'm running out of options..

[Q] Having trouble upgrading from 2.3.6 to 4.1.2

I have an ATT Samsung SGH-i727 running 2.3.6.
I tried to update it to 4.1.2 stock ATT with Kies, but Kies did not work; it said it could not contact the upgrade server.
So I downloaded Odin 1.85, downloaded ATT stock 4.1.2, and selected the ROM with the PDA button and pressed start. Auto reboot and Reset time were checked.
An hour or two passed and Odin was hanging on system.img.ext4. It never completed. I rebooted, and now it is stuck in "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please selecte recovery mode in Kies and try again."
I tried starting over in Odin, but it says that the write operation failed when it gets to system.img.ext4.
Any guidance on how to get this working?
Thanks!
P.S. Here is the full log from Odin after trying again:

Re-download the Odin file. It's probably a bad download. Check it's md5 after downloading.
go through the troubleshooting section here [HOWTO] NEWB GUIDES To: | RESTORE TO STOCK
note: in your log this line
"<OSM> KIES_HOME_I727UCMC1_I727ATTMC1_844945_REV02_user_l ow_ship.tar.md5 is valid"
there is a space between "l" and "o" in the word "low", did you edit the file name b4 using odin or is the space there because of the copy/paste to the post.
if I had to guess it would be driver issues since odin confirmed the md5 was ok, but go through the trouble shooting section from above link
Also a trick I've learned with Odin, instead of just double clicking to open, right click and select run as administrator. haven't had a hang on it since using this method. Maybe that will help.
Fixed
Redownloaded firmware using link in troubleshooting guide and updated successfully. Thanks.

[Completed] Tablet stuck in downloading mode

Hey guys,
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro and now i have a huge problem. I rooted it a long time ago and decided to install TWRP today via TWRP Managaer from Play Store.
I guess i did something wrong. After the app told me that the installation of TWRP was successful, i restarted the tablet. Now the screen says: "downloading, do not turn of the device". And i warted for about 1 hour and nothing changed. I cant event shut down the tablet. If I hold the Power key, it only restarts. The only thing i can do is go to ODIN mode.
But i am kind a newbie and i have no clues what to do now. Any help is welcome. Thanks guys.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. You probably have to flash the stock firmware with Odin and start the process all over. Try here for help first, http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-how-to-root-install-custom-recovery-t3087451. Also see your device's forum here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-pro-12-10-8. That is the best place to get help in the future.
Hey, thanks for your help. I just tried to flash the stock firmware via ODIN. But it always says that it Failed.

I tried on differend USB ports and installed differend Drivers. I've no idea what i should do now.
Hi, the only other things I can suggest is to:
Re-download the firmware file and check its md5
It's good you tired different usb ports. Make sure they're the ones in the back of the pc and 2.0, not 3.0
Try different cables
Keep trying. Odin can be finicky. I've has it fail many times and then for some unknown reason it'll work.

[Completed] SM-N910P Samsung Note 4 Spring - Odin write failure/no backups/no roms/won't flash

Hello,
I have a sprint samsung note 4 (SM-N910P). I rooted it using Odin, installed twrp recovery, and installed CM12.1. It all went ok until for somereason I had no cell service. I then tried a few things I saw on here and had no luck (updating the modem and VPNs). So I tried to revert back to stock rom from a twrp backup. It went ok but there was no mobile data or even signal at all. I looked up how to unroot my device and watched a few videos. Using Odin3.09 I attempted to try it. I downloaded the stock firmware for my device from sammobile and whiped *ALL* data including backups, because that's what the video said to do. Well... When I tried it Odin, sadly, failed again and displayed this message yet again:
UDC Start
SW REV Check Fail: (Aboot) Fused 3 - Binary 1
(1)eMMC write fail: ABOOT.

I even took it to sprint and they had trouble flashing stock firmware on it too. Does anyone know how to fix this or what it at least means? I have a $700+ phone that is now useless, because I screwed it up somehow. Please help...
Thank you.

And I think I flashed CF-Root correctly. Tried to boot, Recovery is not seandroid enforcing. I then flashed TWRP 2.8.7.1 (the .img one) and now it proceeds to recovery after boot screen.
I tried restarting to system with TWRP and it went into a bootloop.
Am I on the right track? I mean is it supposed to be like that until I do a factory reset? I'm scared cause the ROM is still downloading lol how do I put it in the device's internal memory? Will I be able to in Download Mode?
On a PC running Windows XP right now, Samsung's USB Drivers don't seem to work whatsoever. I'll try it on my laptop and we'll see.
(p.s. should I have opted for the one-click rooting and stuff? Idk the guide tells me to do it via Odin so yea lol)
Since you were on 5.0.2 you could've used the PingPongRoot to easily root your phone. I did that but then after a while I thought I want a custom ROM so I updated to 5.1.1 and tried to use odin to root my phone but got the same issue as you.
After a few hours of struggeling I got out of the bootloop by doing an emergency software recovery from Smart Switch. However I'm not sure if it will recover to 5.0.2 or download the latest 5.1.1 in your case.
Nonetheless when I got my phone to work again I just flashed UniKernel with TWRP and then I was rooted.
I wont touch odin ever again I'm too nooby for that and it caused me to panic so hard with that goddamn bootloop.
I hope you get it solved!

Is my GT-N8010 bricked?

Hi all,
I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 (2012) which worked fine until one night I switched it off before bed. The next morning it doesn't boot up. It just shows the Samsung logo.
The machine won't go into recovery but starts to show the TWRP initial screen before going back to rebooting.
The machine will go into download mode and I have tried flashing stock a stock ROM and TWRP again but each time, ODIN reports a fail.
This is the log from ODIN when I try to flash the stock ROM:

I have very often flashed ROMs in the past without a problem. I had TAB Sensation on the Note and had been using this for quite a while, then this just happens without any obvious reason.
Any help would be so gratefully received.
Thank you.
Jason
Download again.
Sent from my SM-N920C using XDA-Developers mobile app
Thanks for this but what should I download again?
stock ROM # for your model .
Same problem, but with unrooted model on stock 4.4.2. Happened once before, when under guarantee, and Samsung fixed it. Issue in detail:
Switch on - stuck at 10.1 logo
Will restart into download mode
Won't restart into recovery
Windows 10 computers won't recognise it when attached ('unknown USB device'), so ODIN doesn't see it.
So I'm stuck - any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Attempted remedies so far:
uninstalled Kies
installed Samsung drivers (various versions)
reinstalled Kies
Skipsoft Toolkit
I've got the exact same problem with mine, it started several months ago. I was about to toss it but figured I'd give it another shot after a coworker told me of this forum. He suggested loading a new firmware/OS via the micro SD card, although since it won't even really boot I'm not sure how I'm going to do that.
