There's a thread about it in the Verizon G4 forums. According to the OP, Verizon is able to tell nearly everything about your phone from that app (battery level, available RAM, root or no, etc).

Theory is, that's how they find out if you're rooted. Deny it permission, and freeze the app, and they won't know.

I use it to display data usage via widget and view bill amount etc.. all that sort of stuff.
How did you get My Verizon Mobile on an Moto X Pure???? I don't even have that app. I have seen it pop up before on other phones. I have always froze it also.

I am account manager 6 lines so yea I need to for data usage. I don't see anthing wrong with it, what about you? Even though we have 30GB for 130$ sometimes it gets close to 30GB and since everyone pays their own line's bill.

The My Verizon app and widget is and forever will be the only thing I will actually use from Verizon as far as apps go. The fact that I dont have to deal with the VZW Tones or VZW Navigator being preloaded and unremovable was all the more reason to get the Pure outright instead of the LG G4. All of those VZW apps can go burn in hell!

How'd you get 30 gb for 130? Best I have seen is 12 for 120 on my 3 lines. Much less 6. That's with a 23% work discount.

I bought it for this reason, and so I can use it on other networks if I please.(sick of buying phones through the carriers.) and to Tether my z ultra to it for daily navigation in the car (traffic to work).

So, after receiving my Pebble Blue 16GB S3 on the 11th, I realized that I would much rather have the Marble White version. So I've been posting on Craigslist non-stop for a trade, so that I could avoid paying the $35 restocking fee. Well, yesterday was the last day that I could go to Verizon to switch the device with the restocking fee, and of course with my luck, all Verizon locations in the area are out of stock. They offered to order me one, but explained that they would have to send my device back, and I would be without a phone until the white one gets here.
Now, I know it's my own fault for waiting so damn long, but man. It sucks!
Return it and buy it from BestBuy. Just be sure to have Verizon put a note on your account to let you keep the unlimited data.
I personally hate BestBuy but they have the best return policy of any retail store.

So I called Verizon and tried my hand at conning them into sending me a white refurb. They said that they would, but their redemption center has none in stock, and they were very limited on the blue. So I figure if I give it a month or two, I'll try back again and hopefully they'll have a few!

Darn! I just tried this too. I'm on an unlimited plan, so I activated the phone on a different line, then switched it over to my line. I wonder if that had anything to do with it.
is this a root problem, or bootloader? You could try to run "root cloak" app on Xposed Framework. I know that worked for people wanting to get ISIS wallet to work. It fools the app into thinking that you are not rooted.

They typically don't need to ask for root. If you are rooted try root cloak. Have you edited your build prop or super cid?

Apparently if your bootloader is unlocked Drive will not activate the bonus storage. In the comments someone relocked their bootloader and was able to activate the promotion. I am not that interested to relock for the promotion, but maybe right before it expires.

Just call HTC. Explain you didn't recieve the promo and they will ask u for your imei ams then email u a link to activate it. This is what I did and worked flawless. I now have 75GB.

Raising this topic from the dead in case anyone else is in the same boat as me...
I didn't even know about this feature but recently read about it when they upgraded existing users to 100GB. I unlocked my device the day I got it so never opened the stock drive application.
I called the 888 number and they just asked for my IMEI and email address and they sent me an email. I already pay for 100GB, so they added another 100GB on top of that.

Just to bump/confirm, I contacted HTC using their email contact form (see here http://www.htc.com/us/contact/email/), and just now got email with a link to activate my shiny new 100GB Google Drive storage good for two years. Clicked and confirmed, all good. Pleasantly surprised after I procrastinated on the initial offer of just 50GB, lol.

I became an owner of the 64GB black sapphire version this morning at 8:53am. Retired my Note 3 after 2 years. Very happy so far.
Praying that someone will be able to root it. Would love to remain stock, but have the ability to debloat properly, run my root file explorers, as well as Xposed framework/modules (primarily RootCloak).

Tbh I never really used multi windows so haven't tried it on note 5 yet. As for menu button I just added the settings icon to my main screen but I expect adjusted OK thus far

No differences in LTE speeds for me.
Here's another PSA: Sprint service in Austin, Texas (and surrounding areas) sucks!
I cant find anything new on my device at all.. There could be other things that could auto-install after the update via sprint ID app. ... I turned that of (with package disabler) as it kept installing bloatware immediately after I would uninstall it. That issue alone is worth the price of Package Disabler... or even installing the U ROM.
Anyone know how to tell if the bootloader has been updated?
I was hoping for some more functional AOD updates like the Note 7 has. At least we get the September security update.

Yeah probably. To be honest I'm surprised we even got the September security update.
If I don't use the thing the battery life is pretty great, I can go almost 2 days on a weekend when I'm not using it much. But man, stream radio or music, it just eats it, which is weird because I'll eat more battery in an hour of streaming radio with the screen off than I will watching a show or movie off my SD card for 30 minutes.

That's why I'm glad I have a nexus 6p to play with and enjoy android N while my S7E sits in my nightstand lol. I regret buying the S7E man..
I do regret getting the S7E as well. I feel conned by all the hype and early reviews of this phone. I must say that after this update has settled in, battery life is better finally on this release. Too little to late. The phone is still laggy and struggles to close open apps and will still lock up for a few seconds as well. I am confident that Samsung's horid touchwiz is to blame as it happers the phone.

I think the lag is more from the Sprint bloat than the Samsung bloat b/c on the 935U ROM, I practically don't have any lag. My GS7E is faster than my Nexus 5X on the latest 7.0 Nougat.

I could totally see the sprint bloat causing that. This will be my last carrier phone. Not sure what's next yet but I'm eyeing the inevitable price drop on an unlocked HTC 10 during the holiday shopping season at the moment.

I've disabled the bloat, and have no performance issues, or significant lag, on my Edge. No problem closing open apps. You may want to look at what apps you have running in the background.
As far as new features, there's now an option to automatically set a default app or be prompted, and if you're prompted you can choose Always or Just Once.
Don't forget to claim your 100GB upgrade (for 2 years only) to Google Drive from LG.
I haven't claimed mine. Probably won't as it would be a waste for me.

I've had that happen on my last 2-3 phones,including this one.
I ended up trying another of my G-Mail accounts & it took.
Guessing I've maxxed out on the amount of freebie storage on my main G-Mail account, gotta wait until some of the free storage expires before loading it up again. (Currently have 319 GB total to use).

I was able to claim since this is my first time ever claiming something like this.
I couldn't claim this either and I'm not sure if I've ever gotten free storage through drive. I'm pretty sure my account is only for 15 gigs.

I think Verizon wants you to use their cloud. I think mine got upgraded to 25gb for free cloud storage

I didn't get anything with my Verizon phone. I chatted with a google drive rep and told me to call LG. I spoke with LG, and they didn't know anything about it.
They told me I needed to buy a lg g4.
