App Ideas : A must have app for developers - Android Apps and Games

Appideas is a storage as well as a support for creative developers with ideas for apps and game. No matter where you are when the inspiration comes along, with this app you will not lose any ideas.
Select a category, where the planned app belongs to, choose a name, describe the basic idea and save the base frame until you find the time to develop the project.
App Ideas also offers you support your running projects. Changed your idea from the theoretical state into practical development, you have the ability to note individual subgoals as well as emerging bugs and work through it step by step and fix it. The development is divided into 2 stages, called Alpha and Beta, so after the first goals have been achieved, you send your app in the second phase and can register new destinations and mistakes. Futhermore you can stay connected with potential partners and mutually transmit tasks.
Has your idea become a finished app, it is stored in the Release-folder.
You can use App Ideas, made in beautiful material design for free up to four ideas. If you need more capicity, you can aquire the Pro-version. This is possible in two ways, which are explained to you in the menu of the free version.

[APP] Looking for Android alpha testers for a money tracking application I created.

My main goal for this project was to keep the application simple, yet effective. I don't like cluttered applications, however, I like ones which get things done! My new application "Simple Register" for lack of a better name, is just that (in my opinion.)
It functions similar to a checkbook register, where you can easily track your money. You can set an initial starting balance if different than $0, and from there credit money or debit money from the account. There is no linking to bank accounts or anything of that sort. I wanted to keep this simple.
I am looking for some Alpha testers who track their expenses and who are willing to give good feedback in order to improve the application. It is definitely not complete in terms of features, which is part of the reason I am here. I know there are things which can be added, that don't make the application too complex, yet can improve the overall experience.
The UI is currently not the best as I have tried to devote more time to functionality and have not had a chance to get around to making it look "pretty" yet. I will say, however, it is not by any means ugly. It is simple looking, which should make it extremely easy for someone of any skill level to use!
With that being said, I want to reach out (with this post) to get a few Alpha testers. I have an Alpha community setup through Google+ at the moment which will give you access to the Alpha version of the application through the Google Play Store.
If you are interested, please join the following Google+ community, which will provide the link to sign up for the Alpha testing (through google) and allow you to download the application. Membership will be limited (so that I do not get overwhelmed with users and feedback) so if you do not get in right away, please be patient.
Simple Register Alpha - Google+ Communities
In the future, I plan for there to be a paid version of the application (this may change.) Currently I am limiting the number of accounts someone is able to create, and there are a few more features I am planning which would be in the paid version. Those who have helped test the application, will be provided the paid version free of charge.
Thanks in advance!

[APP] Walk n ride

sorry if this is not the right place. I’ve developed an Android app and I'm seeking users to evaluate it as the last milestone of my Master's program. The app (WalkNRide) is a free Android app that automatically tracks the locations and different situations in which we walk and drive during our daily lives. The app logs how users commute, ties this information to the places where we spend our days and provides feedback based on how we’re performing and suggests improvements. We believe that providing information to people is the first step towards successful and healthy habits.
The app has three versions: a baseline with basic features and other two with a higher diversity of features. With this, I intend to test different strategies to promote physical activity and to understand how users adopt and use these different versions.

[APP][4.0+] Kaqaz Note Manager 1.2.0

What is Kaqaz?
Kaqaz is a modern note manager published by Sialan Lab.
It's using C++, Qt5 framework and Qml technology. It's open source and released under the GPLv3 License.
Kaqaz designed for tablets and large phones (>5 inch). But it works on other devices.
This is important for us to know your feedbacks. If it's good or not good, please tell us why?
The focus of Kaqaz is on a better user interface so that the user can feel a different experience with it. Kaqaz has tried to provide faster access bars and present a convenient interface for the users to have an enjoyable time while working on it. Kaqaz is a free and open source software written under GPLv3 license.
Note: To synchronize your notes with your other devices such as your laptop, you can download the desktop version. This application supports Windows, Linux, Mac and Android at the moment. iOS , ubuntu touch and Windows phone versions of this application will be published soon.
Kaqaz Theory
Kaqaz is not just an application. It is more like a theory; a theory on which much time has been spent in Sialan Lab to be designed and implemented.
Theory of Kaqaz states that imagine you have a lot of blank papers before you. You can write anything on them you would like without any concerns about how it is going to be kept or what will happen to them. You stick a label on them and then attach as many files as you’d like to them.
Do not worry about where or how it is going to be put and kept and clear your mind from all such concerns. Turn over the present paper and go to next one and only think about writing. Write on and on and fill in thousands of papers with a distress-free mind. A thousand is a small number for Kaqaz.
During all this time Kaqaz saves and keeps all your writings in its storage (cache).
Say goodbye to crowded lists of hundreds of writings. You can read and edit your writings whenever you want. Just ask Kaqaz what you want.
If you are looking for a specific word, say it to Kaqaz via the search tool. If you are looking for a specific label, choose the label from the sidebar and if you are looking for some writings modified on a specific date, type the date on the history tool.
Surely many more new, smart and advanced tools will be published for expressing your demands to Kaqaz. But for now we are at the beginning and only these tools are presented.
Kaqaz tries to sugar-coat writing for you through its simple theory and simplicity of user interface. It tries to make you concentrate only on writing so as to motivate you to write more.
The goal of Kaqaz is to inspire people to write diaries, short stories, daily notes, purchase lists, information, etc. as easily and best as possible and more importantly to enjoy writing.
Kaqaz attempts to support the habit of writing and motivate the users to write in today’s mechanized world.
We hope to develop and strengthen the theory of Kaqaz by relying on your support in order to satisfy you even more, leading to a development in the field of Note Manager Applications.
Features:
Notes management by means of labels and categories
Sorting notes by day
A user-interface different from other applications
Advance and Smart searching in notes
To-Do papers
Backing up notes
Encrypted synchronization via Dropbox among all your devices

Best back end for Android app?

I appologize if this is a dumb question, but I am new to app development, altough some experienced in php/html.
I want to create an app where user fills in forms. The app development is easy to find info about, but i also want a back end plattform where I read the submitted forms and organize users.
So, my question. Is there a sort of ready wordpress like plattform to customize, or should this be built from scratch? If so, which platform is the best?
One note I should add about Buddy (full disclosure: I work there) is that we maintain independent instances of the platform in different locations around the world. If you need to host your backend in Europe (for response time or data sovereignty reasons, for example), you can choose your app backend to be sandboxed in the EU. Likewise the US and likewise China (with Brazil, Singapore and Australia coming soon).
he best way to develop mobile apps is to use REST services. So now you can choose any thing.
Any language that can used for server side programming can be used.
Now it is up to you choose the language.
If you familiar with JavaScript then you can try nodejs. You can make small app server in it.
But if your server software design is very complex (containing threads and synchronisation) then java can be handy.
But there is no restriction of language.
Firebase should be also a way to go for this.
The best android back end services include, Parse, Kumulos, Kinvey, backendless, QuickBlox.
Concerning the forms where users can fill up information, would something like help out?

On Apple's platform you might need an iPhone developer - it is quite possible to create and publish an iPhone app using your form.
I did take the help of mobile apps development service in toronto to know the process which is described here: http://support.brightcove.com/en/app-cloud/docs/step-step-guide-publishing-apple-app-store-using-mac
Thanks Carol for sharing such a wonderful article.

I have heard good things about Hasura (Not affiliated in anyway). And I think parse - mentioned above - is no longer available.
I'm wondering why nobody mentioned Google CLoud or AWS. They are most mobile friendly for a good price
Hi, if you will decide to build from scratch, there are different options/frameworks. But If you use kotlin you should look to Ktor.

Here, The list of good backend options for an Android app:
1. Parse.
2. Back4app.
3. Firebase.
4. Kinvey.
5. Appcelerator.

5 Things You Must Include For Android Apps Development

“There’s an App for that.” This catchy slogan redefined the world of mobile applications. With over 16 billion mobile devices being in use right now, and over 1.6 million Android Apps in market, it can be safely said that the app market is exploding. If you want to explore the world of apps, this blog is exactly what the doctors prescribed for you. But wading into the world of apps isn’t an easy task. You need to be able to shine from the horde of apps or risk getting deleted. You need to be on top of your game when it comes to quality and execution. Long gone are the days when a mediocre app could stay installed on the phone. Today if you create an app and if it is not up to the mark, there are higher chances of it getting lost in the sea of apps. If you are looking to develop an Android app, here are five things you must include in your android app development.
Create an app to provide solution to an existing problem
Your app must offer solution to an existing problem. Create functionalities that deliver a good impact rather than adding unwanted and useless features. If you identify a problem that your customers may be facing, build ideas to create an app that can solve that problem. Your app’s functionality must provide values to your target audience. If you think few functionalities included in your app are not useful/efficient, remove them or reedit them until they are perfect. A good app is enjoyable to use and offer some value.
Include Gesture Recognition
Today’s smartphones are coming to market with new features every day. One must-have feature for cameras is gesture recognition. Gesture control features in your apps can optimize user experience. Camera features can be controlled with just few swipes or taps. This gesture control feature can be used in an innovative way to provide great experience to users.
Build an app based on your target audience
Just identifying your target audience is not enough. Your app needs to cater to your target audience in every way possible. If you are creating an app for children, needless to say that animation works well. Similarly, if you are building an app for professionals, the design should be neat and customizable. The idea is to let your app speak to your target audience. Looks of your apps icon help you create your very first mobile impression, so the design should be good enough to make the users download the app.
Enterprise Features
If you are creating an app for any organization, then include features for remote access with stability, accuracy and performance. As organizations needs their employees to use app to access their business information anytime. Applications like CRM, ERP and SAP integration capabilities works better for enterprise apps. An app which saves time of the employees is likely to get more downloads.
Keep it Simple
This factor is applicable for all kinds of apps. An app should be as simple as possible. If you want your app to be successful then it should be simple enough to use, by all age group people. App’s features should be easily understandable and non-complicated. Your app should attempt to solve an existing problem, not create a new problem. The UI should be simple and easy to play around. A good app has a proper balance of aesthetic, power and simplicity.
