On my old Droid X, custom roms left the option there to set your own thresholds to ambient light as well as custom brightness levels. This was necessary, due to its weird reporting of ambient light to begin with.
On CM9 on the X, that would be under Display in the system settings. With CM10 on the S III, there's no such option. On Samsung's stock rom as well as on CM I find that auto brightness sets the screen too dim. Can those levels be adjusted? Thanks!
it is in cm 11 nighties not cm 10 tho
Slim has the ability to adjust this as well though their default auto setup seems to work well for me.
Hello folks, is it just here that the nexus 5 keeps changing the brightness level automatically? I'm not using adaptive brightness and yet this keep happening. It was like that on 5.0.1 and now in 5.1 too.
Someone else?
I have a brightness bug on marshmallow ..my phone autodims when outside or în a bright place.
Is the bug happening too on 5.1.1 ?
Nobody else seems to have this issue. Try wiping the sensor with a piece of cloth, if that doesn't help, do a factory reset.
It s a known issue Man..every s6 has it but You didnt noticed it yet..just try to google s6 brightness issue and You will see
I don't have this issue on my S6. I'm on the Indian variant.
If I put it on sunlight, it automatically activates adaptive mode to further enhance the brightness by boosting the contrast.
Hey there!
I'm having this issue with my Galaxy S6 since I updated to Marshmallow.
Under direct sunlight it will rapidly jump to a higher brightness setting independently of having auto brightness on or off. I also can't manually reach the maximum brightness that the smartphone shows me when it's under direct sunlight (even with the brightness set to max). I can only control 75% of the max brightness. There's a thread on galaxys6 reddit that talks about this problem and has a link to a video (I can't post links yet).
I'm pretty convinced this is not a faulty device as this didn't happen with Android 5.1.1 and I've bought this only 3 weeks ago. I've already installed and changed my firmware to the latest France region (XEF) version and it's still doing the same.
Does anyone have this same issue? Is there a way to fix it ?
Hey,
Recently I noticed that screen overlay that reduce brightness further then the rom settings stopped working(screen filter, night shift, etc..)
The lowest setting on the official rom isn't low enough and my eyes hurt at nights.
Any reasonable solution?
