Q1: How do I Root my devices? You can either try using the One Click Tool made by XxLordxX (LAIOT) or follow one of the many guides out there. Like this one
Q2: What is the adb?

Q3: What recovery should I use?Currently there are two recoveries on Xoom being updated, you can either use TWRP or CWM6
Q4: What is the best ROM?There is no "Best ROM" it's up to a personal idea, check on the second post for all ROMs on Xoom (Since 4.1.2).
Q5: Why should I root?Root gives you liberty to change almost anything on your device, also with it you can flash custom ROMs and kernels. Check this video (by XDA-TV) for a better answer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czTkHe7-lXw
Q6: Do I really have to Unlock my bootloader prior to rooting?Yes you do. There is no workaround for this.
Q7: How do I relock my bootloader then? The same tool for rooting can also unroot and relock your bootloader. Here's a link for LAIOT again.
Q8: Is there a way to return to Stock?Yes there is. Use LAIOT as a one click solution or follow this great tutorial by @alecbond [LINK]

Root didnt work?
Hello,
I attempted to root My European Xoom which is on JB 4.1.2 Folowed the instruction from FAQ How do I root my device.
I followed all the instructions from Manual Root Way, by XxLordxX and everything went fine. Did exactly as said so when I finally reached the point where you download "Root Checker Basic" and it says Sorry! This device does not have proper root access. But there is a superuser app but it doesnt do much. So whats gone wrong guys?
Plus once this problem is fixed do I need to do Step 5: Backup Image to SD card and Step 6: Restoring Image from SD card?
To load a custom rom.
Cheers

Hi,
Thanks for following my guide! I will try helping you as much as possible! Please, try opening Superuser app and checking if it has the su binary (SU app usually does it automatically). And for step 5 and 6 are not necessary to load a custom ROM .
Cheers,
~Lord

Thanks Lord, sorry for the late reply Ive been having laptop problems.
Ive opened the superuser app It has 3 tabs on the top Apps, Log, Settings. I go into settings and at the bottom in Superuser information heading, it has Su Binary v3.0.3.1 tap to check for updates. When i click on that it checks for updates and then says checking available version failed.

Good Evening/Hello/Hi,
I own a Nexus 4, boot loader unlocked and rooted. I have recently installed the paranoid android ROM 4.6 version. I am unable to find the special settings (the ROM settings) for the phone. I downloaded the Xposed module and am using it as a substitute. But it cannot help me customize the quick settings. Are the settings hidden or does the ROM not support it? Please help!
Thank you.

It can't be flashed with stock recovery. You need to install via a custom recovery.

Thanks for deriving from my work without attribution. That's not nice.
For the record, I did this since the early 11.0 days and have a semi-automated build system (source code at julian-klode/bacon-superuser in github). I published my work on the OnePlus forums, you can find the "[Flashable Zip] [CM12] Enable Integrated Superuser" thread there in the CyanogenOS 12 section.
I have also published a build for YNG1TAS17L - available in that thread and jak-linux.org/cm
MIssing notification drawer and status bar in settings!
I rooted my oneplus one with cm12. I installed some basic apps(titanium backup, xposed, juicedefender, romtoolbox etc) which require root access, but later I find out that notification drawer and status bar options are missing in my settings menu. I am not sure why is it exactly gone? Does anybody know solution for this?

Ah, I'm really sorry about that. I didn't know that it contains your work. I got it from someone who uploaded it in forum post pretty long ago and assumed it is just a generic zip. Since I couldn't find the post again, I ended up updating it as a base zip myself for personal use. When CM12S came out, I decided to upload it.
I'll edit the main thread to include attribution to your work. Again, sorry about that.

You go to settings, privacy. In the privacy page, open the three-dot menu and select advanced. Swipe all the way to the rightmost tab, you'll see the list of root.
Thank you
Thank you for the tip, that's what I was looking for. Thanks again
I have flashed it too and it works just fine, only when I go to see the version of CMOS, it says I have the same version as before.
Hello Everyone.
Good News for everyone. I have decided to maintain a help thread at Xperia L community in order to keep the threads for development/general section more clean and better organised. I have been noticing for a long time that whenever new users join, they still are not sure about the rules and thus mistakenly post in the wrong sections too often. If any senior member points it out to them, mostly it is either ignored or taken personally. Thus I have decided a combined help section would be very helpful to the community and the questions which are sometimes left unanswered and lost in question answer forums, that would not happen again for all of you.
I would be personally answering all your questions and shall refer you to someone in case I feel someone else would be able to answer the same question in a more detailed way. Other users can feel free to answer as well if you think you can tackle the situation well and make sure while answering any question, you provide enough information to the users as well. You can easily link the users to posts if you think a question has been already answered.
REASONS I AM MAKING THIS
Lots of repetitive questions.
Same things told again and again
Threads remain clean
A simple reference to every important thread that you should visit in case you have a problem
WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO
Read the rules here XDA RULES BEFORE YOU POST
Idea of this thread is to help and to be helped. So ask any question you have in mind related to Xperia L, Android, or anything at all as long as it is related to Xperia L directly or indirectly.
Make sure you are precise with your information
Be Detailed
Do not repeat the same thing again and again
Use search button to find if your question has been asked before. Do not repeat your question if it is answered before.
WHAT INFORMATION YOU MUST PROVIDE
1.Your bootloader status
2. Rom name with complete baseband/date/version
3. Kernel name
4. Any Mods you are using
5.If you are using Custom Rom, your flashing style i.e dirty/clean or you wiped anything else in specific
6. If you used any guide, link to the guide
7. Root status
8. Your exact problem
9. Any method you tried that failed
10.Any other detail you think would be necessary
Make sure you provide as much details as possible. Things like my phone won't turn on please help would not be of any help to you or to the person answering. So please make sure you provide as much detail so we know exactly what is your problem and thus guide you in the right direction.
A sample would be something like this
Device: c2105
ROM name: CM 12 dated 10th May
ROM version and base: 3.99-RC2
Build number: CM_taoshan-userdebug 4.3 JLS36G
kernel version and its settings: 3.4.0-thunderzap.kernel.plus #193
Rooted
Sabertooth Mod
I can not use my WIFI. Although i tried flashing Wifi modules but it does not work.
I flashed CM over 1.5.2A.0.17 Stock
ETC

Please remember "Give respect to others, others will respect you back!" in simple words, No abuse towards newbies/noobs will be tolerated here! So anyone found doing that would be reported.
Another important thing is MAKE SURE YOU THANK THE PERSON who helps you. This is to show your appreciation to someone who personally took his time to answer your question. He had been nice enough to do it for FREE and nothing else. A simple thank you to his post will go a long way. The questions would be answered more and the one who is answering would be happy to answer more questions. So it is a gain gain situation for all of you. Read my signature because most people take help for granted here. So be kind to others and HIT THANKS BUTTON A LOT.

Now, I wanna downgrade my Xperia L from android version 4.2.2 to version 4.1.2. I know there already are quite a few threads on this topic but, I am completely new to all of this. I've tried following those and many other threads but have not been able to accomplish anything so far. Ha! I don't even what some of the terms mean.
Thanks for your help in advance,

Although everyone likes to have their own customisation in a ROM and what features they are looking for, it is very hard to pin point which would suit you best. For now , the best thing you can do is test few roms like Resurrection Remix, PACMAN etc and see what suits you best.
As far as your stablility issues are concern, the BSOD is major problem in 12.1. I suggest you go back to CM12 nightlies from official website.

There is a similair thread at the Galaxy Tab 2 forum. It might be best to ask a mod to pin this.
And @Joel16, I still have the device in my possession. (It's eating dust in my drawer) I'll check here regularly to help users if needed.

@SdtBarbarossa you could also add flashing supersu zip for #2. Your method is easier, of course, but personally i run to some issues with cm's default (ie titanium backup seems to prefer supersu). Not sure if it's just me though.

Why is Sony Xperia L lucky for custom ROMs, Kernels etc. I know that Soc (Snapdragon) has major requirement for this kinds of staff. However, I think, Xperia L has also something different and Which Sony Smart Phone are you suggest to buy after sony Xperia L supported like this?

Welcome.
Very short about me: Most of you know me as ieatgravity, I ported TWRP Recovery a little less than a year ago and was able to achieve root on the Life One X2. Since then I have developed guides, auto rooting tools, roms, and I maintain BLOX2.com a dedicated site for all Life One X2 and Mini Development. I apologize for the long absence. However it seems as if this community has really bloomed from where I left off. I want to thank EVERYONE who has supported this development for our phone over the last year, whether it be financially, simple encouragement, thanks, prayers, or you even helping develop something new. I tried my best to credit everyone involved, though many have come and gone we hope YOU will take an interest and try your hand at developing!
As of now we have all been using the first thread we had for our device as a catch all for development, apps, support, general q&a's. Though it has worked for us up until now, a few of us have decided that we should have a dedicated thread to development ideas, topics and questions to keep everything organized.
For now this thread will support both the X2 & Mini. So when you post, please specify the device.

Personally I haven't tried. As I'm still running on marshmallow, but from what I gathered from the wiko thread i started months ago the auto root tools were not successful. So for the time being there is no root for 7.1.1
I confirm we can't flash anything in fastboot mode on ufeel prime 7.1.1.
We are looking for since September. Impossible to root.

Has anyone attempted using Kingroot.apk (NOT KINGOROOT) to root then use a root flasher like flashify, rashr, official twrp app, to flash the custom recovery. From there root using magisk manager patch the boot.img, reboot into twrp then flash the patched_boot.img to boot partition. While still in TWRP, navigate to the kingroot.apk location within /system/app. Delete the kingroot.apk and reboot. At this point you should have a working systemless root without the sketchiness of using kingroot.
If anyone has the time to test this out let me know the results please.

Has anyone attempted using Kingroot.apk (NOT KINGOROOT) to root then use a root flasher like flashify, rashr, official twrp app, to flash the custom recovery. Hi ieatgravity ? about yours drax rom, does it work on wiko U Feel Prime? Maybe it's a dummy question but I have my doubts so it's better to ask you (OP) I think ? thanks in advance
Hi guys. I tried another thing in my Ufeel. One week now I have it with Red Wolf custom recovery and Viper_garlic rom 7.1.2 both for Yureka Black running. Everything works fine only with the recovery not. It's working but not 100%? I'm not a developer and I don't have the knowledge and tools for see what can do to better working. I thing sharing this with you guys it's important. And maybe someone with the knowledge (and time) want to see it. I try to get logs from the problems.
ps. Sorry for the bad English ?
New OTA update in France this morning. Version V39, always android 7.1.1. No bugs anymore with delay for unlock phone at reboot. Now fastboot devices is detected but always impossible to unlock. All commands says "unknown command"

Hello everybody, I just got the BLOX2 Mini and wanted to start working with it. I can see this thread hasn't been updated and that the blox2.com web is down. Can anyone direct me to the best resource available in order to unlock, install TWRP, root, etc. in the Mini, either in XDA or elsewhere? I noticed there's a long thread on the regular sized BLOX2 but I am not completely sure if what is available there will work in the mini.
Thanks!

Hi ieatgravity,
Are you still out there?
I'm wondering if Lineage 15 or 16 is also available for the Blu Life One X2 Mini?
Best daraabi
