When the Note is off not powered off and one swipes or taps on the edge screen, the time, date and temp will show and goes off depending on how one has set the timeout for in the Settings menu. My question is does anyone know how to keep that panel on with the same settings as the Night clock. The reason is that it is much brighter than the Night clock and I like it better.
T-Mobile Lollipop completely stock 5.0.1
Thanks,
Robert

Thanks but must be rooted. Also, 12 hrs is enough for me with the Night clock. Want I would like is the brighter time, date and temp that when the phone is the Home screen and you press the Power button the screen turns off. Then when the screen and edge is black you scroll up and down the edge screen a widget comes on with the time, date and temp but Much brighter. My question, is there any way I can use that widget or whatever it's called for the Night clock instead of the one that currently Android uses (which is not as bright nor does it have the temp display)?
Thanks,
Robert

Is there a way to use backlight notification on Nexus S?
Any Kernel or Rom give me the option of doing this?
Thanks in advance!
Kinda Pointless
Even with the backlight on, the Nexus S SAmoled screen is still completely black, so that seems to be pretty pointless as a notification system since you wouldn't see any change from when the screen is off to when the backlight is on.
The only applicaiton I've seen that actually serves of some use is NoLED, since it flashes different icons on a black screen. It's free on the market. Look it up if you don't know it already.
Ok. But what if it would possible to blink the bottom of the device (white bottoms)
does anyone know if its possible to adjust the back light dimmer lower than stock. I have tried the various programs that shade the LCD to make it seem dimmer, but they don't work the way I like. I want to use my xoom as a night clock, but unfortunately I can't get it dim enough. My Sony alarm clock has an LCD display that dims the back light in night mode to where you can barley see it. But in a dark room its perfect. All the other programs available just shade the LCD, but you can see the back light seep through and it keeps me awake. If anyone has a solution that can work on my xoom I would be grateful.
Thanks
Well nook app dims lower than normal while reading.

You could try the app Screen Filter from the market. It allows you to set a %.
Hi, I am new to XDA, and this is my first post.
About a month ago, I grabbed my One XL in Hong Kong. Loved the phone very much but in the past several days, I noticed that the screen brightness seems to change with the background color. When the background changes from "mostly black/dark color" to "mostly white/light color", like when switching from appdrawer with black background to light-colored homescreen (ex., the "serene" desktop), the screen backlight will gradually (within about 1 sec. ) turn brighter. This is quite obvious if I lower the brightness level (I set it to about 10%), and at 50% the issue is barely noticeable. This looks like a battery saving method, but I'm not sure. I would like to ask if this is normal, or is there by any chance a way to turn this off? Because it is indeed very annoying to me. Currently using ViperXL 1.2.0 rom and Beast kernel. Thanks for your help!
P.S. The auto brightness is always turned off.
Hi,
I am new to Android and just got a LG P769 L9 android phone from Tmobile.
The phone is great and running ICS 4.0.4. One thing that is troublesome is the brightness control and it does not have auto brightness like the Samsung phones. There is a list of quick toggle buttons on the power control tool on top of the notification pull down screen. It can quickly cycle through 3 levels: dim (0%), medium (50%), and full (100%).
Dim is great at night in dim area, but medium and full are just too bright except I am under direct sun light.
Is there anything I can use to change the default brightness level, say the medium to 25% or have a new level created for 25%?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
I asked the same question on r/oneplus.
So I've bought a OP 7 Pro just 1 month ago and I'm really paranoid about burn in.
I searched a lot about amoled technology and from what i read i assumed screen burn in it's not something recoverable. And I took all the security measures to not make it happen. Auto-brightness, screen timeout to 30s, AOD turned off, and i never leave a static image on my phone.
Today I noticed that when i plugged my phone and the colors screensaver started, the fingerprint icon left a visible mark like it was burned in. But it lasted only a couple seconds and then it disappeared. Same thing happens with the signal icon on the status bar.
So, is that screen burn in? Or it's just image retention? And why is it recovering? Should I worry about it becoming permanent? I'm not even enjoying the phone anymore :c
Sorry for my english and thank you
Not that big of a deal. Especially with screen technology these days. Walk into your local carrier store, or Best Buy, look at an old phone that has an amoled screen and that's left on all the time for display. That's burn in. When the image stays there after a long period of time and doesn't disappear when the screen is turned off and on. When I had my S8 and S9, it was noticeable that the clock and always-on home button shifted all of the time. With screen technology the way it is now, a lot of OEM skins have some sort of burn-in protection in place. I've left the screen on my 7 Pro on for hours on end, alas at the lowest brightness, with the screen timeout set to never and I've never had an issue.
I'm paranoid about burn-in too. I use navigation gestures and systemui tuner app to hide status bar. I use battery widget reborn to see battery percentage and other notifications can be seen in notifications pull down shade. Use auto brightness to change brightness more frequently. I use amoled antiburn app to check for any burn-in. All clear so far.
Since launch, Not much chatter concerning this as an issue... Enjoy your device
I have Google maps burned in..? I hate it because you can see see on a white background alot.
