[Q] Sony D2303 stuck in bootloop,no recovery system,bootloader locked. - Sony Xperia M2

Hello xda!
This is my first post here, and I am sorry that it is a one of me asking for Your Help.
When I first got the phone with 18.0.C.1.13 jelly bean it was a dream. I mean fast, responsive with a intuitive UI and with a low price tag.
However i made some OTA updates to kitkat and the phone became a fraction of what it once was. I now realize that I should have probably made a dalvik cache clean-up but i think i may have messed up the stock recovery with CWM and Twrp.
Long story short I got fed up with 18.3.1.C.1.17 CE and had found this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762296
and downloaded XPERIA M2 D2303 Central Europe 18.0.C.1.13
Unfortunately RootLord links were broken so i downloaded from this user
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62242961&postcount=82
And then when i tried to flash the ftf for the first time everything unchecked.
On boot I got a boot loop
It starts with Xperia logo than some plasma waves resonating and then back to xperia logo and all over again.
I use flash tool 0.9.19.7.
Also i have noticed that in flash mode green light is only for a half a second while fast boot mode always stays blue.
I tried booting into stock recovery but I think i dont have one on my phone because a month ago i was experimenting with King root 4.1 and Cwm, Twrp.
I also downloaded SDK package installed Google drivers, flashtool drivers driver pack 1.5 from this forum
Also when I type adb devices into cmd or adb fastboot recovery nothing shows.
Please I am asking for your help because I dont know what to do, I have been trying to resolve this problem for three days.
Sorry for my English it is not my native tongue.

Hi, try with older version of flashtool, everything else from your description looks good(for me).
Here's a log file from flashtool v0.9.19.4 and the same firmware version.

Here is my PM between me and AleksJ

If your bootloader is already unlocked the easiest way to update to latest firmware is through EMMA software.
1. Install emma and load services.
2. Reboot to flashmode - hold volume down while connect your M2 device to USB.
3. On emma select and flash latest update - 18.3.1.C.1.17
4. Update TA
Then if you want to use a 'permanent' recovery, download this TWRP by ericas and flash it via fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
To enter into recovery:
Hold Volume Down then Power OFF, when device vibrate release them.
Also, in this case (unlocked boot loader) you can use another(second) recovery too.
Good Luck
Hi AleksJ!
Thank you very much for your help.
I downloaded emma ran it and got the message that the bootloader was locked.
But as you can see from this screenshot imgurURL
It seems i was successful in updating firmware to 18.0.C.1.13
I think I should probably wipe cache and dalvik but i cant install via Flashtool(by Androxyde not emma) the recovery boot.img . I Choose option select system to flash and get this
pastebin Url
I also get that for system.sin and kernel.sin
Also I have a problem with adb devices not recognizing phone.

What's your final point then?
If you think that .ftf firmware file is broken, and can't trust on provided FlashTool log, then don't use it.
You can't apply boot.img whatever you want from wherever you want if your boot loader is locked.

Thank You for your help the problem has been resolved i had to tick wipe user data in flash tool.
I have learned my lesson. Next time i will use Titanium,Nandroid and Philz recovery before doing something like this again.

Always best to wipe everything and start fresh. Always done it.

[Q]Help: Can't change custom rom

Hi,
I am new to this site and fairly new to rooting and stuff and need assistance with my Sony Xperia S (LT26i). If i am not in the right pace for this please point me in the right direction. I have installed a custom rom and custom recovery which let me upgrade from 4.1.2 to 4.3 which was working fine then when I flashed a different custom rom after that to get 4.4.1 I lost access to my custom recovery. The main issue is that I need help with changing the custom rom I have installed, for some reason I can no longer boot into TWRP or CWM (using power + vol up), the phone simply boots normally and skips the whole process therefore I cannot flash anything. I have looked for hours over the net on how to get into recovery but could not find a solution.
I also assumed that when installing custom recovery and custom roms that you would need to be rooted but when I check with Root Checker it says that I am not. So any assistance would be great

Here is 4.0.4
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_d8uWGbkaetLThpYzEwZUh5aTg/edit
steps:
how to install the newest Android 4.0.4 for Sony XPERIA S LT26i
a) first of all, check your firmware version (if you already have the newest one, you do not need this tutorial)
b) download and install latest Flashtool from here (mirrors Google Drive or Mega)
c) download also latest Android 4.0.4 (mirror) for Sony XPERIA S LT26i
d) paste the ftf file downloaded in step c) to folder „Firmware“ included in the XPERIA Flashtool
e) open the XPERIA Flashtool, click on flash and choose downloaded firmware, than click ok. Important - if you do not want to delete any data of your phone, just uncheck flashing userdata.sin file. All data will remain in your phone, but sometimes it can cause additional troubles. So it is better (and I recommend that) to do the backup of your personal data, than proceed with clean instalation and then restore your personal data.
f) turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button
g) after few minutes all is done and your phone gets the new firmware
Here you got 3 ways to update good luck

The clue's in the error message - you don't have the required drivers installed.
There's a directory named "drivers" under the main flashtool dir. Run flashtool-drivers.exe and install the appropriate drivers. I think "Common Drivers Viskan Board" is the one you need. I ended up installing all of them to get it to flash (which took ages).
Ok so I got it to work, all I had to do was hold down the vulumn down button for like an extra 5 seconds while it began to flash
Thanks for the help, I appreciate it

Hello again
So I have successfully rooted the device and installed TWRP but as before I cannot seem to get into the recovery mode, when I boot the phone with "power and vol +" it doesn't boot into recovery but instead there is a quick glimpse of what I think is the recovery mode (I cant actually see it but something happens for a split second) but it flashes past way too fast then goes to the normal Sony logo and continues booting normally. I have tried this like at least 20 times in the last 2 weeks and have researched other ways to boot into recovery but I can't seem to find anyone with an answer. Do you know what could fix this? Or is there a way to boot into recovery using a computer?

[Q] Help with bootloop? when installing CWM with flashtool

Not sure where to post this, as I'm quite new here, but here it goes.
Every time I try to flash the CWM in my M2 d2306 I get a screen black with blinking background led at reboot.
Then, I re-flash the kernel and bootbundle, and everything works okay. But then, no CWM.
What must I do in flashtool? I connect via fastboot, then click in Flash kernel with the .img provided in one of the topics here.
Also, I'm sorry for my newbieness... I used to own a WP 7.8 ....
Power + volume up button press(10 seconds) and off the phone
Open flashtool select firmware wait the connect phone message press volume down button connect pc and wait ending firmware flashing

I'm really sorry if I'm mistaken:
Well, maybe I'm just too dumb, but... ain't this just the same as I said...? Let me try this again:
1. I install CMW. Then, when I reboot, it gets the bootloop.
2. I, then, install the custom VIVO firmware for my Xperia M2 d2306 (realized that I just need to flash the kernel again). The phone DOES boot.
3. I can't enter recovery mode anymore
Context:
The real problem, actually, is that after all this work, ignoring that the recovery mode got broken, I try to uninstall some system apps, like the VIVO BS, Google Magazine, Xperia Lounge, etc... But after I close the Titanium (or NoBloat Free) the shortcut of the app is still there. It does not launch, giving an stop error or something, but if I reboot, it gets fully restored.
I thought it had something to do with the superSu not being installe properly, so I tried to boot into CMW to reinstall SuperSU., thus beggined my loop with the flash->bootloop->flash-bootloop... :crying:
You have system as writable? When i update from 4.3 to 4.4 i had root but not system as writable so i can't to uninstal apps. TB was showing to me that is uninstaling apps but after reboot they were still instaled. So if you don't have system as writable you can't install CWM and have bootloop.

Root acces possibly lost.
I guess I let something very important slip...
I was trying to fix system, but couldn't write to sony_ric/enabled, so I've redone the rooting, and just after installing SuperSU, via CWM, I got the following error when I tried to power off:
Code:

As you see, it's missing some characters, so I had no idea of what it said. I've googled it a little and soon found that there may be some workaround,
like using TWRP.
Question time:
1) But can we, users of M2, have a stable access to TWRP (didn't found anything saying no, but neither saying yes)?
2) Does it have something to do with my su binaries been messed up?
3) Does it have something to do with the bootloop?
4) Everytime I install the kernel of my custom firmware, I can't access CWM anymore. Can I fix this or is this the default behavior (or both:fingers-crossed?

Well, I guess I found the answer for two of my questions.
A2) Aparently I was using the Google Play Store version, that is known for not being able to update de binaries, and such...
A4) Using the flashtool removes the root somehow. I don't know how I got it working the first time, though, but now none of my apps given root access works. I'll try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/general/root-d2303-kitkat-18-3-c-0-40-locked-t2929893
update
Just an update.
The method of Engineer91 didn't worked out for me, as OTA fails to update me to 4.4.2
I've tried to flash the kk with flashtool, ticking (removing from the flash) only the kernel (as seen in androidclub, but then I got a bootloop again.
I'm running out of ideas... does anyone knows what can I do to fix the system not being able to be mounted as writable in the KK (Android 4.4.2)?

That has a custom kernel so you need to unlock the bootloader to flash it.
To repair it you can restore the backup you must have taken in recovery before flashing the rom
or
Flash a stock FTF in flashtool from flashtool.net
or
Force a software repair using PCCompanion.

The custom kernel should have recovery in it (Probably) so you can try entering by pressing the volume up or down button when you reboot the phone.
EDIT, my mistake, the kernel is not booting.
Flash a stock FTF ending in .93, root, install recovery and restore the backup
or
Force a software repair using PCCompanion, downgrade, root, install recovery, restore backup

The recovery you're booting to is not a custom recovery ,anyway I'll giude to installing I'll give some useful links.
First if all you need to unlock your bootloader go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/xperia-l-how-to-flash-tool-unlocking-t2337955
You may run in a bootloop (the phone stuck at bootanimation)
Just flash the stock ftf via flashtool .
Now go here and take the first method , it will guide how to install CM12
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63769485&postcount=2
Remember that the first may take sometime so don't pullout the batterybattery.
Good luck:highfive:

Are you sure that your bootloader is unlocked?
Anyway try to flash the stock ftf ,download the suitable one here

[Read issue in my post] installed twrp as boot/ problem with flashtool etc..

Okay so here is my issue. I wanted to root/flash my sony xperia z3 d6616. Okay followed the instructions and unlocked bootloader. Then I wanted to backup existing ROM etc. so I googled it and found out that for this I will need to have some recovery like TWRP.
I went installed TWRP with “fastboot flash boot twrp.img” – I should have done “fastboot flash recovery twrp.img” which means I am stuck here now...
Then I searched for official firmware. Found that (https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/ftf-stock-firmwares-xperia-z3-models-t2886061) with ftf extension. Installed fastboot/drivers let it run few times already and nothing.
I get something like this
INFO – Flashing finished.
INFO – Please unplug and start your phone
INFO – For flashtool, Unknown sources and Debugging must be checked in phone settings
INFO – Device disconnected
Like it went through if I see? Or this Debugging option is the problem?
Not sure what can I do now. Is it possible to get android working from this point or should I just throw my phone away now? Please if you know how to fix this or if you have any idea tell me. I will appreciate it a lot.
Or am I doing it wrong? As I found that it should be better to exclude sin – kernel while trying this stock ftf? Should I include it next time?
Or if anybody could advise me where to get like this boot image. Or I should try to install some custom ROM and it might work and I could get my android system again.
Your phone doesn't power on after flashing stock fw via flashtool?
It should start normally if you flashed the correct fw.

After doing this with flashtool my phone powers on. But it boots to TWRP, like it did nothing. If this makes any sense to you. Like flashing has done nothing.
Not sure if this line INFO – For flashtool, Unknown sources and Debugging must be checked in phone settings
might be the problem? Since it states that my Debugging must be checked? But since I overridden my boot image with TWRP I am unable to go to settings to change this.
Thank you for quick reply.
