On the S6, certain apps, such as Google Photos, Mixcloud, Google Clock (there's plenty more) the status bar does not tint correctly, it has the same colour as the menu bar with a dark shade on top, anyone else noticed this? I don't have this problem on any other Lollipop device.
I've contacted Samsung support and they have stated it's a dev problem? I don't understand how when it's fine on all other devices, which makes me believe it's Touchwiz.
Any fix or help for this problem?
Hi,
It seems to be the default behavior of TouchWiz status bar, I don't believe you can do anything. I only tested Google Photos though, as it's the only app I have that you listed and compared it to my Nexus 10.
My S6 showed a completely transparent status bar with a dark shade on top (like a shadow), while Nexus 10 reduced the opacity of the status bar.
All the best,
~Lord

Hi, if you have Xposed installed, there have two modules for your problem, the first is :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bocharov.xposed.fscb
He's very complete and he colored all the statusbar, and the other is lolistat, but I noticed he doesn't color with all apps :

That's it
Thanks.
Does anyone know of a rom that resolves this problem?

Anyone know how to hide the notification bar? When I'm using apps I don't want to see the notification/status bar, as I want to utilize the full screen.
So no way to accomplish this?

I am a "noob", but my experience with the TF is that the notification bar is not part of the viewing screen. I could be way off base here.
Using the Gallery app the notification bar remains, but the icons are dimmed (small dots), touching the area and they appear. . Using Moboplayer the notification bar icons remain bright.
Give it a try and you'll see what I mean
i like to too. i hate that frikken white they used for the nav buttons. stock would have been better. the white is so damn annoying when reading or watching movies (i use mobo so it doesn't hide).
i have tried modaco's rom but since it's the ww version some apps don't show up.
I have a new Nexus 5 and my wifi and cell icons in the status bar are always white. On my other Android devices they were blue. The Interwebs tell me that the icons are white when they cannot connect to Google servers, but I'm having no trouble with Gmail, Hangouts, etc. Is this a change in KitKat? Are they always white? Do I need to worry about them?

My Nexus 5 has white bars as well and I'm connected to all of Googles Services without an issue. If you're having troubles, the white bars are not related.

They aren't as useful as in previous versions of Android. To see the connection status, pull down with two fingers, they will be orange to indicate a bad google connection.
I see no reason why this couldn't be in the main notification bar like always.
Thanks!
Reason given yesterday by some Google guy was that keeping the animation up in the status bar cost a lot more CPU than one would think. Also ordinary users had no idea what the coloring or animation meant anyway. The two finger pulldown placement was meant as a compromise. The switch from blue to white was to allow less intrusion on app displays through the transparent bar.

I have some modules that's not working at all and some that's working, but there are some flaws.
The not-working-at-all modules:
NFC Icon Remover. I know it was mainly developed for some HTC devices, but does it work for anyone on the Xperia L?
Adapted Layout also doesn't work at all. I don't know if it should only work if I have a completely hidden navigation bar, cause I have a navbar it's just reduced to half of it's original size and it also doesn't do anything at all. The walkman app looks like this for me and there should'nt be a space where I circled the picture.
The working-but-not-flawlessly modules:
But my biggest problem is with Gravitybox. Most of its features are working properly, but some of them aren't and they are annoying.
Problem 1: I tried to reduce the size of the navigation bar in vertical mode, but it's not working at all.
Problem 2: I set the transparency of the satus bar to 100% percent on the lockscreen, but it's not fully transparent, it looks like this. It used to be working fine and it was fully transparent, I don't know what changed since.
Problem 3: I also set the transparency of the status bar to 100% in the launcher, and it's fully transparent, but if I lock my phone and then unlock it, the status bar is fully black, not transparent at all, but if I swype down the notification bar and the quickly swype it back up, it becomes fully transparent, and I have to do this every single time if I want a transparent status bar.
If you can help me with only one of my problems, it'd be much appreciated.
Can someone explain me why blackness is appearing on top and bottom of my moto g ,purchasing just a week ago.I am including screenshots .Thanks in advance.
Nothing wrong, stock ui looks like that
These are shades on the nav bar and status bar, which prevents the buttons/icons to blend with white/bright images. It's not a bug or a defect of any kind, no worries.
It's a feature that can be removed if you are rooted, got xposed installed and gravity box.
Hello,
I just recently installed some black overlays for the notification tray and navigation bar, as well as a transparent and shorter navigation bar to hide the buttons but keep the black region visible.
The only issue I would like to resolve is to have the Edge Notifications work properly. Can it work with overlays?
Thanks

I have quite a few overlays and Substratum installed and don't have any issues with edge notifications. You might should ask this question in the thread that you got your overlays from.
