I recently flashed the vipers 3.1.2 after a full wipe
I keep getting "could not download due to an error. (error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0])" when I try to download things from google play store on wifi or 3g.
i tried to clear data and cache of play store and google services, then wipe dalvik - cache from recovery but it did not work.
PS: i have the latest google play store 4.3.11
any help?

After I've installed the 10/11/2013 cm10.1 update google play does not let me anymore to update apps and when I connect to internet it keeps force closing again and again, so I can not do anything on the phone. Tried to wipe google play cache and data but that didn't fixed it, neither installing gapps again. Any suggestions without wipe data/factory reset ? Thanks.

It worked by uninstalling the updates from both play store and services, and after a restart all works fine, both apps updated to latest version and works. Thanks !:good:
i installed CM-11 kitkat and the coresponding Gapps package gapps-kk-20140105-signed. but get the error Google play services has stopped working, i went into settings.....apps...selected google play services and cleared the cache and uninstlled the updates (as suggested after googling) but still get the pop up error.
When i installed kitkat and gapps in wiped the dalvik cache and the cache partition but did not wipe the data/factory reset as i would normally do. i also updated cwm to 6.0.4.5.
I can use kitkat but without google play, but i need google play to download apps.
Hi XDA,
I noticed on APKMirror that a new version of the Google Play Store was released (5.10.29/30), so I tried to install them, which all went with no problems.
Than I tried to update an app in the Play Store, when after clicking the "Update" button my Google Play Store immediately crashed.
Alright, I removed Google Play Store using Titanium Backup, this might be the biggest mistake of them all (I must have used to "remove updates" from the Settings > Apps menu)
After removing 5.10.29/30 I decided to install 5.9.12 again, because that one was working fine for me.
Installed that, hit the Google Play Store, smacked the Update All button, and boom, crashed again.
At this point I went to Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Remove all Data
Went to the Store again, update all, crash...
I have also wiped my Download Manager Data
Also I disabled AdAway, since some hosts file might mess with it...
Ok, I have a Xposed Module "PlayPermissionsExposed", disabled that, reboot, try again, still crash...
Tried wiping the data of the Google Play Store again... Nope...
The Play Store gets as far as;
Opening the Play Store
Accepting the App Permissions
Downloading.... CRASH
And, after this crash, I can't even open the Play Store anymore, just gives me a force-close.
I really hope someone can help me to fix this issue, since I really don't feel like reinstalling my device again.
Talking about my device, I am using:
Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505
Rom: Google Play Edition by danvdh
who even needs to google play store when you have apkmirror

just boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvic, then flash the gapps you used when flashing the rom. dont wipe any data!.
if that doesnt work, try flashing the rom too. worst case you might loose any mods you made to the system, but data will be fine as long as you dont wipe it.

Thank you, my ROM did not came with a flashable gapps package, so I just wiped only the Dalvik cache.
Too bad, that did not solve the issue...
I am re-flashing my rom right now, without wiping anything, hope that solved the issue, will report back later
I have problem with google play services.
I deleted some stock apps (many ,to be precise) on my alcatel onetouch I-213 . After that cleaning youtube and other google apps can't login. And they say
" update play services".
I did full reset and it is same.
( i didn't wipe a dalvik cache, i did factory reset from recovery)
And i don't know what to do with that.
You have to connect your phone through Wi-Fi, add google account from settings > accounts > google
Now restart device and if it's still not working then uninstall play store services updates from application manager.
