unzip and find three more zip files, one is drivers. I don't know which ones did the magic cause I was screwing around for days so just install em all like I did.
Then install and run Vroot with USB debugging enabled....That'll get you root.
Then run the beautiful twrp magic installer I found somewhere else, you'll be warned about potentially losing your IMEI due to space issues, if concerned, back up with mobileuncle tools first. I didn't lose my IMEI though.
after TWRP installs, install supersu from the app store and update the su binary through recovery when prompted or using the supersu update zip through recovery (not included) and you're all done.
Thanks to everyone who originally made these files, I can take no credit. but u can jock me for spoon feeding you if you want
Will this root method work on life play mini L180b?

Today when trying to update the busybox binaries it failed. Whereupon I lost root and wifi stopped working and I couldn't root the device again.
I did factory reset/wipe to no avail (wifi still dead and couldn't reroot). Then I restocked using odin doing wipe again. After the restock wifi worked again but now I'm not able to root the device (I'm using the root.zip method from recovery). Superuser can't update the su binary and neither can SuperSU.
Any help with this dilemma (getting root back) would be appreciated. Thanks.
First uninstall the update of version 3.0 of superusers. In the handler for app not see more' the application but if you go in the menu you will notice it is still there, given that many ROM cook have a default. Then the total uninstall does not, you can do. Now download the package of the binaries and flash using Recovery http://www.mobilegeek.it/?dl_id=397 once finished initiated the device and download from the market the update to version 3.0 . Now open superuser /settings and select "Track on v3.0 " to update correctly the rails. If the process give you all the "OK" green vul say that everything is alright. If by some red writing reboot the device and try to reflash the rails ...

I just bought Gsmart Arty A3 and it proves unrootable. But also, I found out that it comes with stock recovery and stock rom updates like here which are flashable and in .zip format when downloaded.
So I'm wondering this: is there a way to download this official firmware from the link above and tweak into being pre-rooted?
Please help me out if you know how
Regards
EDIT #1: Only a way to debloat this stock firmware is good enough if there's no help for root
EDIT #2: I downloaded official update and this is in system/app from that flashable .zip (see attachment)

Now, I wonder if it is safe to delete bloatware in this folder (widgets and cosmote .apk and .odex's), save changes and flash this zip through stock recovery?
PLEASE, ANSWER ME!
Great idea. But we need to check if that zip is signed or something. Including how those apps that are taking care of firmware updates are used. Would be great to re-package with KingoRoot, Busybox, SuperSU etc, for example, for those who doesn't want root out of the box...

Hi,
Mostly just reading here, barely posting.
In the past with my rooted phone I've used AdAway to block ads on my phone. But now that I'm not rooted anymore I needed an solution.
So here it is; AdfreeZip. It does more or less the same as AdAway. But it doesn't require root and creates an TWRP flashable zip file.
The only thing the zip file does is replacing your hosts file with the one generated from the sources you provide. A few sources are added by default.
You can add your own urls to the hosts file.
Latest version is in the Play store: https:// play.google.com/store/apps /details?id=nl.peejseej.adfreezip

Exactly what I was looking for
It works wonderfully. I have twrp and wanted to leave my phone unrooted. Thanks for this app.
Very useful app! Thank you very much! Does AdfreeZip support Android P & the A/B dual partition scheme?
Question, I have an galaxy s8 that is not rooted. If I install TWRP doesn't it trip knox? How is this different than having root? IK I'm a noob atm
Amazing.
I'm using android with rooted for the whole of my life since I know how to root just to get AdBlock on it.
now I don't need to root anymore, I really appreciate the dev to make this app. :good:
I tried updating my phone manually with a batch file, using the official retail g100 rom, but it wouldn't finish the installation and now my phone is bricked
I updated it several times before using this method but it never gave me any issues until now
is there another way to install the official rom without losing any data or is it better to just switch to a custom rom, and if so, how do I go about doing it?
I'd really appreciate if you guys could help me asap
Can you access fastboot/bootloader mode?
yes
Did you use an old batch file or create a new one for the updated firmware?
If you are using an old one, chuck it and make a new one from the recent firmware. Possibly theres an extra sparse image part in there, that the old batch file isnt flashing.
I tried with a batch file from the previous version and then I created a new batch file but it still didn't work

it stops right after writing the last 11th super sparsechunk
I managed to install the servicefile.xml
it turns out my adb sdk tools were out of date
