hi Everyone
Need some pointers on the safest way to move from CM12.1 to MIUI 7, without losing TWRP and Sotrage partitions.
(i ask because there are some partition changes on MIUI 7)
Can i flash MIUI 7 zip from recovery straightaway and will that ensure that the storage partition is not overwritten?
Or should i use the fastboot version instead? can i ensure that storage is not overwritten if using the fastboot?
Thanks in advance!
- Flash the stock recovery
- Flash the stock zip through recovery, once installed,
- Flash TWRP Back.
And you're done.

Thanks! and i am assuming this doesnt tinker the storage (sdcard partition)...
It leaves the storage partition untouched.
my device is f1f
I accidentally wiped my system using TWRP recovery so there is basically no OS on the device
how can I move from there to get my device functioning again?
I have downloaded the stock rom but it refuses to being flashed by the TWRP recovery
Put back the ColorOS recovery and install ColorOS zip from OPPO. Or switch to CM13.
no further help needed guys, I solved it on my own
I flashed stock recovery using adb command by those two lines
fastboot flash recovery stock-recovery.img
fastboot boot stock-recovery.img
and then flashed stock rom using stock recovery and it worked well

Can you boot into TWRP? If so, all you need to do is download any custom ROM made for your specific model number then flash that ROM file via TWRP.
If you can not boot into TWRP, can you boot into bootloader/fastboot mode? If so, download your stock firmware then extract it to find a copy of your stock system.img, then flash the extracted stock system.img via fastboot.

I was able to boot in twrp but can't mount onto my internal storage so I installed a micro SD card to do the job thanks though

I never said anything about using internal storage, it is always best to use an extsdcard. We take that to be the standard way of doing it around here, I'm sorry that you didn't understand that by default or that it wasn't obvious to you.
