Hello.
my TP was working fine until this morning.
Now if i connect it to my PC the USB popup (where you can choose between sync/usb mem/tethering) doens't show anymore.
I tried to manually start activesync but it doesn't work
How can i resolve this? (don't tell me to HR... T_T)
Ok... it looks like i've found the "solution"
i connected my phone to another pc, using internet sharing.
after the 1st connection the usb popup came back. now everything seems to work.
weird.
I would like to have my Fuze connected to my laptop via the usb cable for charging and activesync, but use my phones wifi for internet.
Problem is anytime I connect the USB cable it drops my phones wifi connection and starts using my laptops internet connection, which is a pain while listening to streaming music and disconnecting often to run an errand. Ideally would like to keep activesync going to allow using mymobiler.
Thanks for any help.

I recalled that option on my Hermes, but it appears different on the TP. I don't have the "advanced network functionality option. Attached are the options I see under Start->Settings->Connections->USB to PC. Only get options for ActiveSync and Disk Drive modes. Disk Drive mode disables activesync and hence MyMobiler.
I did a pretty extensive search using the the forum search option as well as site specific google with terms/combo's like usb, activesync, wifi, enable, internet connection, sharing,... but didn't find anything related to allowing phone wifi use while connected to a PC which is connected to the internet.

I have a Topaz and I experiened a similar problem - Internet Connection Sharing comes on automatically everytime I plug a USB cable between it and my computer, but I didn't activate it - the mode was supposed to be "Disk Drive Mode" on settings\connections\USB to PC, but there was no option to disable it either.
I had just found the solution -
1. with USB cable disconnected, select "Ask me first" on the USB to PC setup, click OK.
2. Connect USB cable to PC. The 3 choices come up from a HTC setup screen:
o Activesync
o Disk Drive
* Internet Connection Sharing
o Don't ask me again
DONE
QUICKLY click "Disk Drive" radio button AND check "Don't ask me again" AND click Done below it BEFORE internet connection sharing comes up. It will now stay in disk drive mode.
See if it works?
Hi,
When connecting a USB cable to my phone I used to get an option to select activesync or internet sharing, I accidentally selected internet sharing and now everytime I connect a cable it jumps straight to that and I can no longer sync my phone. I know there is an option in USB to PC but I don't have USB to PC under my connection settings, I have searched all over my phone and cannot find anything! Any help will be greatfully recieved.

I was wondering if it is possible to WiFi tether with the GN10.1?
I tried connecting the tablet to my PC via USB, but the tether option did not show up in the settings like it does with my HTC Amaze.
It is for me...
I have wifi tethered my table to my phone and my PC. You need the right software or know how to use netsh to make your PC a wifi hotspot.
Are you trying to use the WiFi on your tablet to give your PC Internet access? Presumably meaning your PC does not have a WiFi adapter of its own.
You probably need to look for an app for that. And/or a driver for your PC so that it can recognize the tablet, when connected by USB, as a USB network adapter.

I have a UG802 and would like to connect it via a wired connection for better speed than what I get with wireless. I have a USB/ethernet adapter, but ethernet is not detected when I plug it in, even though the ethernet light is on on the adapter. I tried manually switching on ethernet in the settings, but the switch just slides back to "off" after a second, presumably because it is not detecting the network. Any ideas?
Thanks
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? I tried another USB/Ethernet dongle, same result. I have no idea if there is a "right one" or not or how to find it if there is a "right one."

Turn off wifi
if it a pre built system and you just installed windows there should be a mb driver cd that have the Ethernet drivers on it. if not you have to go to your mb vendor web page or the ethernet vendor web page and download the drivers if there not installed yet.
