Restoring s6 edge wont work
I try to restore my phone and when I do it from settings factory data reset it turns off the phone and doesn't turn on until i hold the power button when I do a hard reset i turn off the phone held power volume up and home and it just keeps on the s6 screen where it says samsung galaxy s6 edge custom powered by android then after 10 seconds the home and back buttons flash like 3 or 4 times then it freezes for like 2 minutes then the screen flashes bright white with son other colors mixed in for a millisecond then turns off immediately and won't turn on but after holding the power for a moment and letting go the phone lights up 10 seconds after i let go and the phone boots up like nothing happened I tried before i rooted it and it wouldn't work my warranty is obviously voided since it's rooted and I'm mad that that's the reason I rooted is to get twrp or cwm and they don't support my variant its a galaxy s6 edge cellcom SM-G925R6 on android 5.0.2 and I want to reset since it's been having performance issues, anyone know what the heck I should do? Bottom line it won't go to recovery menu, but for some reason download mode works just fine. I feel like crap since it's not a cheap phone and I messed up my warranty trying to fix this thing. Phone still works as it did but it just needs to be reset since it gets slow.
Hi,

Give this a shot.
Also, could it be a power button issue? And that android screen is the splash for stock recovery. You have to press vol. up + power again to get past it, beyond this you can do a factory reset and similar magic. However you likely don't want this, and on the screen where you chose to enter recovery, you'll likely want to use fastboot to unlock the phone (which will wipe all personal data) and then flash a stock ROM again. At this point i would advise lots and lots of reading.
If it's less than a year old, i would be calling samsung though. If it is a new phone i would definitely do this first. Do not unlock unless you have no chance of going through warranty. Will need to know the exact status of the phone for best advice here.
Hello,
I have the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket i727 for at&t, stock non rooted or anything and I woke up the morning because I heard my phone make a sound and it was the Jingle that it makes after it vibrates, shows Samsung and then the screen goes white and the at&t logo appears, so my phone had just restarted itself and now it just get's stuck at the at&t logo and won't go past that screen. I have removed my battery and reinserted it and the phone doesn't turn on automatically only when I press the power button so I don't think it's sticky/stuck power button as to it just freezes at the at&t logo screen but to when I press the power button or hold it actually it just restarts the phone and doesn't turn it off only turns off if I remove the battery but doesn't turn back on when the battery is put back in. So anyone have any ideas on what to do to fix it before I just end up doing a factory reset or do you think I just need to do a factory reset, as it has been working fine for the most part, there were only a couple of other times maybe like 2 or 3 that the phone just restarted itself but it didn't ever freeze or get stuck like it is now and always just booted back up. I have also gone into recovery mode and wiped the Cache partition but that did nothing. so yeah any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Edit: well I went to recovery mode and just did a factory reset and well my phone got to the same screen and was stuck for a little bit but finally loaded up the getting started screen so hopefully this fixes the problem.
I recommend flashing a stock ROM with Odin if you want complete stock. Wipe data and caches before you do. Don't install the app you installed latest cuz that could be your problem.

Had a similar problem on Ginger Bread.... att logo would load and not disappear and after a while it would begin the loading animation again... this happend on and on for about an hour.... after that i made a factory reset and then it worked fine....
I have done hours of searches and can't find the answer to my problem. Hopefully someone here can help.
My GT-N8013 is stuck in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 logo screen. I can't even turn it off without it bringing this screen right back up. It only goes dead when I unplug it and let the battery run out of juice.
I can get it to restart into Odin Download mode, but not into the recovery mode. I can install roms and CWM and stock roms using both Kies and desktop Odin3, and I get "pass" status with no errors, most the time, when I do rom update, but I can't get to the restore screen with the power + volume up button, then releasing the power button and holding down the volume up button only. It just stays on the Logo screen.
I hold down the power + Volume down button and it will restart into the Warning screen that allows me to hit the volume down to go to the download screen or volume up to cancel and restart. Both the volume up and down buttons work for this action so I'm sure the buttons are working okay.
I thought maybe the battery wasn't charging right and that was preventing it from going into recovery mode, but I can charge it for a while and unplug it and the screen will stay on the logo screen for a long time, so I think the battery is okey.
Samsung just said I should send it in, but it is out of warranty and I don't want to put much more money into this devices since it is old and a new version is out now, but I hate to think a great device like this that worked so well for so long is now going to be worthless because I can't figure out how to fix it. Hardware seams to be working fine and just a few days ago, the software was working fine. I'm so confused.
Leading up to these events, I had it turned off for a few weeks because I was traveling and going on airplanes and never ended up using it on the trips so it remained turned off. When I turned it back on, there was a OTA system update that I wasn't sure what it did. Didn't appear to do anything noticeable. Still worked normal. Then a few days later I did a personal data wipe because I was going to sell it and get the new Note 10.1. I went through the new setup process without problems, everything was fine. I sold it to a guy and a day later he contacts me and says it isn't working properly and I've been dealing with this ever since. It didn't appear to have any physical damage and the custom binary download count was at "No" so I don't think he tried to load any custom roms. I don't think this guy is tech savvy enough to do anything but plug it in and use it normal, so I don't suspect foul play.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the exact same symptoms. (No recovery mode / stuck on boot screen even after fresh stock rom installed). Out of the blue after working fine the day before.
Anyone know:
a) of anything further that I can try to resurrect this
b) if I might still have any joy getting warranty service from the shop I bought it from in the UK / Samsung if they send it back to them. I have more than a year left on the 2-year warranty they provided, and have only ever run/attempted to run stock. However as I have been out of the UK my custom binary count has increased to 7 as I have tried to reinstall Stock Roms myself to fix the problem. (However OS version still shows as Samsung Official, not custom)
Thanks so much if anyone can help me
Custom binary 7 = warranty void .
I would try flashing Philz recovery tar through Odin and try recovery mode .
Got a perculiar problem with the S6. The screen suddenly went black with just the blue LED blinking in the upper left hand corner of the sreen. I am assuming the phone went off completely as I cannot access it via the PC also. I have tried all possible button combinations for reset but no luck so far.
Anyone else experience this? Did you find a fix?

Well the phone is not off if the blue led light is blinking, I've never had it happen to me where the phone didn't come back though. I was using an app one day (YouTube I think) and the app crashed and bugged the phone out to where the screen went black but the led was blinking. I left the phone alone after several attempts of hitting home and power to get the screen to come back on and finally I think I plugged it into the charger and it kind of just fixed it self and has not happened again. This is the scary parts of not having a removable battery.

I've got the 128GB and yes I have experienced this as well, twice! I hold down both volume buttons the home button and the power button at the same time, this will put you in maintenance mode. It'll take a couple of seconds holding those buttons but just keep them pressed. Be careful because when it does come on it comes on fast and factory reset is the second selection in that mode. The first time I did it I wiped my phone, the second time it happened I lifted my fingers fast enough not to make a selection. Give that a try and see what happens.

Sounds like you have the same problem as stated in OP. You could try doing what was recommended earlier in the thread. By the way, this is an inappropriate location to put your problem. Read the forum rules
Never rooted.
I am having the same issue. I have tried everything. Factory reset. Reboot/wiped cache and even trying to install verizon's Fireware again as it come only up to the Samsung S6 logo then goes blank. This is now my 4th replacement with Verizon and getting sick of it. How do I fix this? Odin stops at Get Pit mapping then when I do that says it can not install NAND. Using Odin 3.10.6 and 3.10.7. Tried mutli cables and restarted computer as well. This is driving me insane these phones keep doing this.
same problem except nothing comes on. no led, no reset, no computer recognition...
Same issue. Boots into and displays recovery fine and download mode. I can also bring up the safe mode menu ... just can't boot into the OS. Blue light on. I get a response in ADB when powered on, just can't enter any commands due to not being able to authorize access via phone screen.
Update:
Well as strange as it sounds, as soon as I plopped it down on the wireless charger for my S7 the screen came to life. It was at 95% battery prior to. Whatever gremlins got into the gizmos within the wireless charging apparatus seems to have caused this strange occurrence.
Hi, decided today to bite the bullet and finally root my S8+, however wish I didnt!
Flashed it with the correct version of ODIN an the correct version of TWRP, process went through ok and the phone re booted, however it stuck on the samsung splash screen.
It was stuck for about an hour so I powered it down (think it was the volume down and power button for 7 seconds). this turned the phone off but now it wont turn back on again. I have tried recovery mode etc but nothing. Connecting the charger doesnt light up the led either.
Phone is not recognised if connected to a pc either (including ADB)
Is this a total brick ?
Cheers
Ok spoke with samsung, they will replace the mainboard under warranty
I don't think it was a total brick, sometimes takes a few minutes of holding the 3 key to get to a reboot into download mode when TWRP is mux'ed. There are a few other key combos that can sometimes work as well. It is kinda scary, however, my experience with these phones is that they are pretty durable. Seems to take a lot to really brick'em.
If you installed TWRP correctly, you need to have your phone completely off. Then press and hold the Up, Bixby, and Power button. As soon as you see the Samsung S8+ logo, release the power button. This'll boot you into recovery.
Thanks guys but the phone was totally bricked. No key combi action would work phone wouldn't turn on or charge. Took it to a samsung service centre yesterday and they replaced the mainboard under warranty for me. Interestingly as I was handing over my phone they went through the terms and conditions and said that software modification would mean that the phone would not be covered.(I didn't say anything about what I had attempted).
I am on the Samsung beta program for Oreo, so I wonder if the bootloader was the issue
Just so you know, if they do get it operational and find you have altered the software/kernel/recovery then you can expect a call to let you know how much it will cost to fix...
Just an FYI...
