Carrier lock with custom rom, will any stock rom do? - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I rooted and updated a p500h but now it won't seem to connect to other carriers. I suspect it's locked.
I didn't back up the stock rom, and I can't find the Koodo stock rom. Will any stock rom do to access the hidden menu and unlock?

Old baseband fix needed?
All the new ROMs use the newer baseband. Froyo used the old baseband so coming from there, what the doc ordered.

Sorry Dovidhalevi, I'm not sure what you mean, can you expand on it at all?
I /think/ what I need to do is access the unlock menu, but 2945#*500# isn't built in to the newer roms.

Help, How do I remove Clockworkmod recovery?

Basically i got a xoom 3g a week ago i unlocked, rooted, backed up, and flashed ics. Ive been having trouble with the screen, its does not respond to my touch quite alot of the times, i need to take it back for warranty.
I restored my back up of honeycomb which is where im at now
Im in australia and baught it on a optus 3g plan. Build is h.6.5-17-1 (does not appear on motorola website)
I need to get rid of cwm recovery and replace it with the original boot loader and also lock the device but keep the current build.
Im very new to this and have no idea what im doing, help would be appreciated, please reply as if i was a 5 year old.
Thx
Check the stock files stickied at the top of the General section. You are likely to find what you're looking for there. Those stock image files are usually earlier builds...if you flash the correct one for your device you should be able to update OTA to the build that you had originally. Just make sure that it is the correct one for your device.
If you rooted, you should be able to restore.
thanks. I flashed the Telstra files and it all works, but the problem is im with Optus ( a difgerent Telco) I cant find those roms anywhere.
When I flashed the telstra 3g rom it places the carriers app, and changes settings and bookmarks etc for the carrier.
I need an optus 3g rom to flash, i dont care what version as long as can run ota to bring it up to 3.2 (which is what i purchased it as stock standarD)

Update PRL on Custom ROM?

Hey guys I reactivated my phone to a new number and I'm on a Custom ROM, Setting ---> Status , still shows my old number, the ROM I'm using (ParanoidAndroid) Doesn't have the Update PRL setting, so how can I do it without having to go flash stock firmware again?
I've search all over the place and nothing has worked yet.

[Q] AtT NOte 2 unlocked, now using Tmobile, Can't upgrade firmware

MY sister called ATt to unlock her phone when she went abroad, they did. Now she no longer has ATT and is with tmobile. Using the Tmobile sim card, she can't seem to upgrade her OS using the firmware update option in settings. How can she go about upgrading? she currently has android 4.1.2 with the NOte 2?
also if i flash aokp on her phone, but she don't like it, then flash back the original 4.1.2 firmware, would i lose the unlock that ATT did for her and she can't use Tmobile anymore?

Carrier unlocking is separate from ROM. If you can install custom recovery (CWM, TWRP), switching from ROM to ROM is as simple as doing a backup of one, wiping the device, and installing another ROM. Always save a back-up to your computer, and it's also a good idea (much easier in the end) to do a batch back-up through Titanium of all the user apps, so you can simply restore them to the new ROM instead of downloading them all over again and losing the app data.
Factory firmware can be obtained from sammmobile.com and are flashable with Odin (google it).
thanks for the help but why can't she update the stock rom from the settings though when she switched to tmobile? are the update locked to the att carrier?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. The method Planterz gave you will give her the latest firmware. There's at least a few Lolipop ROMs for the Note 2

You can find Odin flashable firmwares at sammobile.com. I'm guessing you'll lose root, but you can always re-root with Chainfire Auto-Root. You're well passed any warranty, so don't worry about KNOX or the triangle (since you can use Triangle Away for that).
You should also look into custom ROMs, either custom AOSP (based on stock Android) and customized Samsung ROMs. That way you're not stuck with Verizon's crapplications.
One possibly easier fix is to create a new APN. I don't know if this is doable with your device's version (I imagine it is) though, since I don't happen to have a Samsung running ICS. But if you go to the APN list in settings, look for a + button, and you can create a new APN. You might have to reselect it after a reboot.
Regardless of what you end up trying, you won't lose your carrier unlock. SIM lock is stored in a different part of the firmware and once you're unlocked, you're forever unlocked.

J727T Unlocked, No Service. Help Getting Unlocked ROM

Hi there! This is a bit of a stretch, but I have a T-mobile phone, that is unlocked, and im trying to use it with a Canadian Carrier. I had an issue with a T-Mobile S8+ a little while back, that was solved by loading an Unlocked Stock Rom onto it using PrinceCosmey's ODIN. I am looking to do the same here, but am unable to find the STOCK ROM UNLOCKED anywhere. lots of custom brands, but nothing stock.
The Rom would need to follow these things.
Compatible with J727T
UNLOCKED
STOCK
The last ROM i got was from UPDATO, but when i search for the new ROM in their website, it gives me an option of about 8 different basebands, none of which match mine.
