Alright. A couple of days ago, I came across a guide about building a custom kernel from source for Mediatek devices. The guide was authored by @MasterAwesome here on our forum. It realy grabbed my interest. So I was searching for a source for my device, a local brand here in the Philippines named Cherry Mobile Flare Lite whos specs are listed below;
Cherry Flare Lite Specifications:
- 4.0-Inch Capacitive Display
- Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS
- 1.0GHz Dual Core MediaTek MT6572 Processor
- Mali-400 GPU
- 512MB of RAM
- 5.0 Megapixel Main Camera with LED Flash
- 2.0 Megapixel Front Camera
- 4GB Internal Storage
- Expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD
- Dual SIM/Dual Standby
- 3G HSPA+, 2G EDGE and GPRS Networks
- Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Hotspot
- Bluetooth 4.0
- GPS
- FM Radio
- MicroUSB
- 3.5mm Audio Jack
- Accelerometer
- Proximity Sensor
- Ambient Light Sensor
- 1,300mAh Battery
I was wondering if I can use a source of another device which has the same specification as mine and same chipset to build kernel for my device. Is it possible guys? Also, if you know a device with the same chipset and specs with source(Kernel), please inform me. Thanks!
These are the sources Ive searched over the net. Can they be used ?

What i have:
Original ROM + root + CWM : h t t p s://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10750423/UdstPub/pliki/forum.android.com.pl/GcI5xV5%21Files_to_FlashTool.zip
Original Kernel: h t t p://openlinux.goclever.com/INSIGNIA_5_5X/
My files (default and build prop and settings.db ): h t t p://www18.zippyshare.com/v/85260652/file.html
Let me describe what i need: as digitizer is broken I simply can't do anything "normal" which is obvious. I have installed drivers for my phone and used spflashtool successfully. When I'm in CWM I can use ADB to operate on files and shell. I know that there is an option to enable adb and get rid of welcome screen by adding lines to build prop and settings but I tried and my android would not start. I would also know if there is any way to modify kernel in order to enable OTG ( which I don't have ).
So basically I wanted to ask Android Masters to modify the ROM and/or Kernel ( that would make my life easier ) or guide me what to do ( without installing linux please if it isn't necessary )
Well that is all from me. I can provide any files from my phone as log as you tell me where to look for them . Any help appreciated. Thanks
P.S. To moderators: Sorry for the links but i didn't wanted to spam 10 posts just to be allowed to provide links.
i want to install cynogen os in my firefox os phone named " intex cloud fx "
i just came across one of my friend who was using the one plus one handset and that how i got to know about cynogen os, so if i have to install it in my firefox enabled phone then please advice me the steps to do it?
secondly:
my reason to install cynogen is because it is supported for many handsets which doesn't come loaded with cynogen itself, but then too get install in it and can make a device usable enough atleast to do normal task as calling, looking at messages, whats app, downloading, accessing email, etc
my firefoz device is actually very slow because it only has a 128 mb of rom and 256 mb of ram for which it struggles to maintain even the dual sim functionality and hangs very frequently, so doing even the normal task itself has become a task
please help......

Hi
There is little you can do. OPO is a High end device which boasts Superior chipset and 3GB ram.
Your device doesn't even qualify to run an android OS ,cyanogen is out of question. Android 2.2(Froyo) specification requires 128MB usable RAM+ ram dedicated to other drivers. OS after that require more RAM and space.
You can post in Firefox OS forums for issues regarding the lag on your phone.

From now on, thank you to anyone who can help me. Much obliged.
Already for some time I have (used) a Vodafone Smart Prime 6 (VF-895n) and it was locked to the Vodafone network ... I was forced to unlock it and went to an "Indian" Are good to unlock smartphones and this time went wrong, especially for me that I can not reconnect.
Although I consider myself an intensive user and somehow experienced in several "cybernetic" matters I can not find a solution to my situation, although I have already read numerous blogs, ect ...
*
As I noticed, the smartphone "Smart Prime 6" is in "Soft Brick" mode because I can turn it on. I can access the settings to make a HardReset, however HardReset does nothing and the smartphone is "locked" on the black screen saying: "Powered by Android".
My expectation is that I can solve the problem by installing / updating with information that is inserted in the SDcard as the image that can be associated with this my topic.
I can not remember for sure what Android OS had, but I'm almost sure it's the Android Lollipop, so 5.
In addition to want to reuse the smartphone, and once it is referred to, was it possible to install an Android OS and preferably without bloatware? Accessing the Google Play Store is very important.
*
My smartphone will be mainly used as music player, GPS and connect to Wi-Fi.
A GSM card will not be used (in principle).
*
I apologize if I extended myself too much with my explanations, but as a form of gratitude, hope you win the lottery to whom to help me.
What are the steps to be taken to restore my smartphone?
For your time and patience in helping me ...
Thank you
- Sarrabulha
