Wifi issues / problems - Honor H60-L12 Are they fixed yet with Lollipop? ROM? - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am about to buy this phone but my research shows this phone as MAJOR wifi issues. I have seen quite a few threads on XDA showing users experience slowdown when also using Bluetooth and wifi.
Has this issue been fixed yet with ANY rom update? or is it a chipset issue and will never be fixed?

I own mine for a year already and have never encountered any kind of wifi issues or slowdowns. In fact, I've been amazed with the signal strength over all places in my house. ****, the wifi even works in the attic with the router in the basement (the building's got 2 floors between these). When it comes to speed, I can't really tell as I've only got 10 Mbps download speed at my provider and the phone successfully uses it all.

Same for me, no problems whatsoever

That being said, I just tried "benchmarking" the wifi signal and having the phone centimeters next to the router it would only go up to 38 Mbps while on a Jiayu S3 it was around 110 Mbps in the same place. When I came back to my room on the first floor, it would read anywhere between 5 and 15 Mbps. Covering the top part of the device actually made it lose almost all of the signal and the speed would stay at 1 Mbps. See the images for further info:
Note: I haven't tested it on lollipop yet so can't say if it's been fixed.

iPhone WiFi vs. WM

Hi All,
A friend of mine got himself a iPhone.
Without customs builds, SDKs, etc... I still think the home
cooked builds for WM are much better.
One thing I envy is that apparently his WiFi is alway on.
Having that on it connects to all the networks it can
saving/speeding lots of data for professional use of
a mobile device (I use it as my mobile office).
What is most desirable is that his battery doesnt
seem to run out any more faster.
I tried to use once with my WM and my device asked for
more juice in 3 hours.
Is there a driver / app that can use the wifi hardware as iPhone does ??
some kind of passive WiFi mode ???
Cheers,
Smartin

I also have a friend with an iPhone right here with me and his does not stay connetcted when the phone is put to sleep mode, well it will stay connected for 30 seconds and then shut down. I verified this by pinging his phone from my PC, after 30 seconds of sleep - no answer and my router lost it from its lists of clients. BUT it was wery quick to aquire the signal after waking up. I then set the IP lease to 3 minutes and put the iPhone to sleep for 5 minutes just to be sure and then it took the usual 5-7 seconds to aquire IP again so it seems to me its using som kind of quick connect settings as long as the lease doesn´t expire.

Phone drops signal on wake up/unlock

Almost every time I wake up my phone it completely loses radio signal and I cant get or receive calls. Happens on 3 different roms and radios. It started after I changed my cellular carrier so it may be related. It may also happen why the phone sleep but doesn't seem to anymore since the last flash and modem: sky-ics 4.2F with uclf5 modem, also mohans kernel 1.5.
I did tons of searching at the closest thing I found is a nexus issue which is related to the kernel smart reflex function which with my limited knowledge couldn't find in our kernel files so I could use a script to turn it off.
And ideas?
Update: I tried using my brothers sim card in my phone(he has a different carrier) and mine and his phone, his phone is a dumb phone. On the skyrocket there were no signal loss during the few hours I tested it. On his phone I couldn't see signal loss as well tho its harder with no log.
I'm guessing the skyrocket and the carrier are conflicting in the software/maybe hardware level. I don't have enough knowledge to know how its possible tho.
It never happened on my old carrier, and I'll be happy if anyone got a clue how to help me find the issue.
Oh also for a while after I returned my sim to the skyrocket the issue was gone until I restarted it.
Here's a picture that will show the wake+screen on and signal loss correlation:

Wi-Fi poor reception

So my Nexus gets very poor reception. And I've seen some other reports, but I think this problem is also responsible for all the people complaining of inconsistent connections and drops as well as bad battery.
When the signal is less than -90dBm the phone drops connection, so because the reception is poor this happens A LOT. When laying the phone on the router, I only get -40dBm, and 2 feet away -75dBm. 20 away it hovers high -80's or worse.
Also the bad battery because the dropped connections lead to scanning and scanning leads to battery drain. In my bedroom, where I have bad reception, my battery drained completely from full over night, but when left down stairs near the router I just only 10%.
And I know it's not the router because when comparing with my Galaxy Note 8 tablet I'll get -56dBm in my bedroom compared to -87dBm with the Nexus.

So look at Dominion SSID...
The first 2 pics are from the Nexus and GNote respectively. Dominion and Dominion2wire SSIDs are about 20dBm stronger on the GNote, and you'll notice the GNote gets far more SSIDs in the scan.

Second 2 pics show a range extender for Dominion I have setup upstairs in the next room. The Nexus only sees the Extender, not the downstairs signal. GNote sees both and sees the extender very well. Almost 30dBm stronger in this picture.
Have you rooted and/or flashed a ROM on your Nexus 5?
If not, you might want to try that, go into recovery, then wipe your data and fix permissions. Not to sure what's happening with your device, but it's worked for me when I've had similar issues with other devices.

Phab 2 pro questions for folks that have one

A few questions if possible,
1:/How is the wifi download speed tests perform on this device? Is it bottle necked or not. Example, I have a 100mb wifi setup at home, when I run Speed Test via wifi to my router most my devices within good range result in approx 100mb down and 10mb up, however budget devices always seem to not max out per se.
2:/ Similar to above but on LTE, I will be using T Mobile in the USA for this device. Also, some people state it supports volte and does not drop to 2G WCDMA etc when making calls. Is this true or false? This device does not seem to be listed on here as being compatible with T Mobile USA Volte. : http://www.spectrumgateway.com/compatible-phones
3:/ Except for the Tango which I am not interested in nor the Wifi calling if available , how does this perform in respect to a budget ZTE Z Pro which costs less than half of this device? I know the spec numbers on this device are bigger, but overall whats the end user experience like.
Thanks.

Does anyone know what this flex cable is for on the back of the Nvidia Shield LTE Tablet ? I broke mine by accident while opening the cover but everything seems to be working so far .
Please guys - I know this device is dated but someone here has to know what this is .

Thank you very much for responding . Today I had to go out and do stuff around town so I tried the LTE at a couple of different spots . I wasn't able to get 4g but could get 3g/ H/ H+ . Youtube played fine and didn't even buffer so I was getting a decent signal . It's interesting that you said this is the LTE antenna because I've never gotten the promised "LTE speeds " on this device . I know this is an old issue and lot's of Nvidia tablet owners researched and tried to fix this . My question to you is rather than replacing the OEM LTE antenna , do you think updating the antenna altogether would help resolve the LTE non connectivity issue that plagued this device ?
