Phone book searches - LG G Flex 2

Hello,
I recently started using the lg g flex2 after having the nexus 4 for around 2 years. When I used to search in the phone book of the nexus 4 business listings on google would show up even if i don't have them saved in my phone book, however this isn't present in the LG g flex 2 which is kind of annoying because this option in the nexus was very convenient. Is there any way i could enable this feature or is it only present in the nexus?
thank you,
Iman Akef

hi, you need install Google Dialer , then settings\advanced settings\turn on Caller ID by Google.
this work for me in H950PR 5.1.1.

Thanks, I tried searching for google dialer and turns out it was only present in the nexus phones, except if I reboot my device and reinstall some software which I am.a bit hesitant to do as I am not very advanced in playing around with software. Is there an easier way ?

[Q] Does Smart Keyboad Pro work?

I have purchased a few keyboards over the years, but always found issues w/ skins. After some extensive research, today I discovered Smart Keyboard and from what I had viewed on YT, this was the answer to my issues.
Much to my chagrin it doesn't seem to work... at least not on my LG Optimus G. This is a new device running JB 4.1 so I simply took for granted this would work. When I search for info on the web, I found a site dedicated to the keyboard... which as of December 29 2012 seems to have been abandoned.
I have 2 questions. 1) does anybody know how to get this to work? I have it set to run from settings but it simply will not activate. 2) If an app has been abandoned, why is it still an app that can be purchased?
Thanks

[Q] Few Moto G cyanogenmod questions

Hi,
Firstly I'm new to Android. I had an old Samsung Galaxy Ace (2.2) which was a piece of stink a few years ago. I moved over to Windows Phone for a bit buy I just killed my Lumia 820. So couple of days ago I grabbed a retail SIM-free 16 Gig Moto G from Amazon in the UK.
Inevitably this is stuffed full of Moto and Google crapware I'd like to get rid of so I'll probably unlock it, root it and install CM11 on it. I have very few app requirements - mainly an IMAP client, firefox, mp3 player, SSH terminal, calculator and offline OSM app. I don't want to sign into any accounts other than what I control (no google!) and will be deploying APKs directly. Few questions first:
1. Is there a known list of issues/bugs/problems with CM11 against this device? Can't find anything anywhere.
2. If I do this, can I get the existing moto firmware and bootloader back and lock it. If I have to do a warranty return due to a hardware problem I want to be able to return it despite the big scary warnings all over the Moto site
3. Is there a possibility I can brick the device or destroy the lowest level firmware/bootstrap. If so is there a recovery option for this. I don't want a paperweight?
4. Does USB OTG still work after CM11 update?
5. CM11 asks you to sign in looking at a couple of videos on startup. Do I need to do this?
6. Default CM11 after install - does it have a media player/music player or do I have to go find one?
7. Any gotchas I need to know about?
I've got a number of years experience with embedded ARM systems and known Linux inside out (including kernel) and write software for a living so this isn't something I'm going into blind so please don't hit me with the n00b stick.

1.Known issues for CM11 M5 here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_falcon
2.You can relock the bootloader after flashing a stock ROM image.Anyway, if they want to deny you a warranty service, they will no matter what you do.
3.If you know what you're doing, you can't brick it by any means. Many ppl lacking the knowledge have got bootloops/bad fs on partitions and various other stuff, but as I said, it's mainly their fault.
4.OTG works on CM11, but it's buggy yet (kernel related), so it may be fixed sometime soon (it's in their known issues list).
5.CM(11) has Apollo as default music player, it's an OK one, but nothing that good. You can always get a Walkman port and use it.
7.hmmm.... don't go CM imo, just root the stock ROM and use it, it's way better than CM atm.Maybe someday CM11 will get better for the Moto G, but at this point it's not really worth it.
Thanks for your replies. I've unlocked and rooted it now. Decided I'm not concerned about the warranty. Spent the entire evening removing the Moto and Google crud from the stock 4.4.2 image it and it's working pretty well now. Will avoid CM11 until stable then will upgrade it.

[Q] PiPO Pad P1 9.7 Inch Rockchip compatibility problem

Hello,
I just bought this, it's not a major brand and so I knew I wasn't going to have everything as easy as my samsung phone and here's my first problem.
I have two apps I want to install that won't which are Wase and Escort Live, both traffic apps. Both when I go to the android app. store give me a "This item is not compatible with your device." message.
The OS is the same version as my Samsung Note 2 phone (4.4.2) which has both those apps. and I question if there really is a compatibility issue that would matter.
So, is there way to find out exactly what the app is looking for that it can't find that's making it incompatible?
Is there a way of installing an app. even if playstore thinks there's a problem? Maybe there's an app that will make a device look like to playstore it's got what the app. wants?
I bought this device to experiment with, not so much as a work tool, so I have no problem rooting it or whatever if needed although it's rare enough there might not be a known way to root it.
Any help appreciated.

Default Google Phone App Issue!

I'm using a Nexus 6 with Android 7.0
I have this issue with the app thats supper annoying. I'm guessing its not implemented. Anyone has any suggestion, maybe a different phone app?
Google Phone App does not recognize phones in Contacts if country/area code is not the same.
ie. +54911 xxxx.yyyy and 11 xxxx.yyyy are the same but this does not detect it (WTF).
Also if I have Jorge Bush (+54911. xxxx.yyyy) as a Contact and I look for Bush it appears but if I look for xxxx it does not appear, I have to look it like +54911 .... or 11 ... depending on how I have it stored in my contact.
(Samsung's phone did this correctly 4 years ago come on!!)
Thanks!

LG G2 apps on other phones

After all the years of using the G2 I really came to like its app, especially the Calendar and the Memo apps.
I already got all the G2 apps (apk and odex) but when I tried to install the two before mentioned apps on my new phone (Axon 7) the installation process failed.
I'm wondering if it even works and if so, how? Also, if it doesn't, why not?
I guess this is kind of a noob question but in these regards that's just what I am. So hopefully someone can explain how I would go about things.
Or should I be out of luck regarding what I try to do, can you suggest apps where their look and interface is similar to that of the LG G2 apps, especially the calendar and its split screen with month on top, event overview on the bottom?
