Text tone reminder when using stock message app? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Does anyone know what happened to the notification reminder that we had in the note 4 stock message app? We used to have the setting to where we could have our text tone chime again like every 10 mins reminding when we have a text.
I sure relied on it and now I miss it.

It's in accessibility

I took me minute to find it too, HOWEVER, i am still having a terribly frustrating problem, too. I set my message notification tone to one sound, but when it does the reminder, whether it a text message or or not (facebook, or email, or anything else) it only goes off in the DEFAULT tone. So the only way I know is to STOP what I am doing and go look at the phone. Which I would only do I if it was a missed TEXT. Any ideas?

Incominig e-mail sound

My TP2 stopped making any notification of incoming text messages or e-mails. I thought that incoming e-mail/ sms was controlled by the sound control, and that when we turned single volume off, we were setting one volume for ringing and another for system.
Silly me, I thought that System was e-mail and SMS message. But it looks like it is only things like low battery. Am I correct?
Where the heck is the control for e-mail volume. Also, I am trying to make distinctive rings for some individual e-mails. I have been able to go into an individual contact, edit contact, and then go to ringtones. But will that give me an individual ringtone when they call, or can I also get an individual alert when they text or e-mail me.
Then net of my problem now is that e-mail reception is silent. Then when I get the sound back I want to know if it is possible to get individual alerts.
Thanks.
Settings>Sound>Advanced>
make sure Events and Program Notifications are checked.. and go into Notofications and go through the pull down menu and make sure new email and new txt and new mms have sounds selected and checked "play sound"
Thanks. I did not make it deep enough into Notifications.

Text Message sound notification goes away after about 5 texts

I have been having a problem with my text message sound notification. After I send about 5 texts, my text message sound notification goes away and it's totally silent. I don't when I get another text message. I have to restart my phone each time and the sound notification comes back.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

[Q] Different notification tones for email, voicemail and SMS

I am sorry if there is already a post with this question. I searched Google and XDA and didn't find any that were my question.
What I was wondering was if there was a way to have a different notification tone for email, voicemail, missed call and text messages. Right now, when I select my notification tone, it's the same tone for all.
Thanks in advance for your help.
I noticed today that if you set the main tone, then go to your sms inbox and click menu>settings>notification settings you can change the sms tone. Not sure about vm though, never tried.
Ha! You are awesome! That was totally it! I guess that the notification setting in Display and Sounds is the default for any message, but each application has a seperate setting that could be applied.
I did notice that when I set my notification tone in the messaging application, new messages set off both tones...the sms alert followed by default alert.
Thank you!

[Q] No notification sounds during phone call?

Is there any way to turn on notification sounds (for new text msg or email etc.) during phone calls?
I find myself constantly taking my phone away from my ear during calls to check if there are any new notifications since the sounds get muted during call and find this kind of annoying. Seems like this should be a standard option, no?
Turn on pulse notification light in display.
You really talk on the phone so much and receive so many notifications that this is a problem?

Notification pulse is turned on - that has nothing to do with sound. It bothers me because notification sounds worked just fine during calls on my Galaxy Nexus.
If I talk on the phone for 40 minutes but I get an important text message 5 minutes into the call that needs a timely response, yes, it is a problem.
Anyone have any ideas? This is an annoying issue.
+1. I'm looking to see if there's a solution for this.
Yes , I need to know the answer to the same , because missing out on important messages are a fear when I am on long calls . Thanks .
Anything new on this? Just got my Nexus 5 and I'm having the same issue.
Use tasker. Make a profile that makes a short vibration upon receiving a notification. You could use a sound instead of vibrate, but imo that would be annoying for you and the person you're on the phone with.
Nexus 5 issue.
There's a simple solution for this., just go into your settings>sounds and notification >interruptions. Here you can edit what notification will interrupt you while being on a call.

Messaging notifications

I came from a pixel and this didn't happen, but when I having a text conversation with someone and stay on the conversation screen, the notification sound always goes off when they send me a text. Anyway to stop it from doing that and so it notifies me when I am not mid text to that person or actively messaging already.
Hopefully this makes sense
