Since your still on 5.0.2 pingpong root is the safest method.

Hello Devs,
I am posting this as i want to know that is there any way to root my s6 g920f model on 5.1.1 COI9 firmware without tripping Knox and any other hardware ( I don't want a phone with hardware defects after rooting ).
As i have searched over internet and xda itself and found that many s6 user have reported that after rooting they have broken their finger print sensor and other things ( I don't want to become the next victim as i love my phone way too much plus its a gift from my sister ).
I know there are kernels and CF-Auto root which can do the job done but with tripping the Knox. i also know that there is a app called PingPong which root the phone without tripping Knox but unfortunately its compatible with older version i.e 5.0.1.
So any of you know the safe method to root please do help me..
On OI9 I think is impossibile root without tripping knox
In all 5.1.1 roms its impossible to root without tripin knox... Also the same policy will be applied in the MM...
Thanks guys for your reply.
I think i have to wait or i have to root it
can't really decide what to do..
i can't live without root but i also don't to damage my phone's hardware by rooting

Is it true that rooting s6 will damage fingerprint scanner or other hardware?
No... Only will damage samsung pay. You "maybe" never be able to get Samsung pay work after root.

Only Samsung Pay won't work after tripping Knox.
I want to root my samsung galaxy s6 non-edge - g920f.
The problem is, I found a video where you download the twrp from google drive, I couldn't download that file since too many users had already downloaded it.
I then searched for a one-click root, which failed since the ones I found don't support 6.0.1 or are only for the edge.
Would someone mind helping me? Thanks soo much in advance everyone.
this might help
I just recently rooted my gs6 running 6.0.1 by cf-autoroot. Just type cf-autoroot android 6.0.1 and it should pop up . if it doesnt then hit me up i will send you the download link. its quite easy so you shouldnt have any problems.
Here is the TWRP;

Hello guys, i want to root too, but for rooting with CF is it required to have a unlocked bootloader? And how to unlock my bootloader because I'll be flashing some custom ROMs?

Samsung S6
Build id MMB29K.G920IDVU3EPGG
Model # SM-G920I
Version 6.0.1
Have searched through pingpong/kingroot (only 5.x), chainfire (trips knox) and copious websites/tutorials but seem to find that build number is not supported with any root options.
What options do I have to root the above samsung S6 without tripping knox?
Thks
Any info would be appreciated.

Hi and we to xda-assist,
actually your possibilities are very limited as you running a unsupported firmware, the exploits that ping-pong uses are closed on your firmware and I doubt that downgrading is a alternative because once you have the unsupported firmware version running on your device even the bootloader will be upgraded and you can't downgrade without relatively great risk of seriously damaging the phone, if can be done at all.
So next is probably to decide how important root privileges are to you and if you're willing to sacrifice your warranty for that..
I would nonetheless recommend you to ask in this forum again, may be someone with the same device has a progressive idea and can help you further.

By the way, it's always a good idea to research the device of interest regarding root & custom roms before you buy it..
Good luck

Hi, couldn't post on any other article related to this because I am new to XDA. Sorry about that.
Is it really possible that i can use knox on s7 edge after I have rooted it?
I had rooted my phone and now I am back to official rom and recovery but knox and private folder apps of Samsung are not working and I really want to use phone with full functionality..
Thanks!
