LG Home Hidden Menu_Enable Theme and Landscape mode - LG G Flex 2

Hi, found this 'activity' LG HOME HIDDEN MENU while figure out how to enable 'theme' in G Flex2. By enable/disable some settings in the menu, accidentally also found a way to enable landscape mode in home screen.
What you need:
App: securesettings to create widget link to 'activity' (there may other app able to achieve same function).
Root? I'm rooted so not sure non rooted is it working.
1. Add a widget from home screen, select securesettings.
2. Under securesettings, select Action > Launch Activity> Select app 'Home'> select activity called [HOME].DEBUG.LGHOMEHiddenMenuACTIVITY.
3. Launch the widget created. Here is where you can play around many settings for the LG Home.
To enable theme:
search for theme> enable FEATURE_USE_THEME > save Home > save Workplace.
Escape and look for theme in display setting. Bingo!

}
To enable home screen landscape mode:
Search for 'portrait' > uncheck the 2 items FEATURE_DEFAULT_PORTRAITVIEWONLY and FEATURE_USE_PORTRAIT_ONLY > save Home > save Workplace.
Escape and now home screen redraw in landscape mode.
Enjoy!

Need root for those activities.

hi,
I've did these tweaks but nothing changed

I noticed you have the android wear app, so I assume you have an android wear watch. What is your battery life with it like? I just got a wear watch and my battery was horrible with kernel using like 60% and the phone using about 34.5% of the battery/hour.

Can someone confirm if this works and if you need root or not?
Thanks

hi, i using a Moto 360 1st Gen. Battery life is normal in my usage, SOT ~4hours for a charge per day.

Thats nice, can anyone try this with g4tweaksbox hide tabs feature?
Does app drawer look normal in landscape with tabs hidden?

IDK whay, but for me neither landscape work nor tabs are removed..

What file does this write to? Maybe I can add the lines manually. I could only get themes to work.

#root. really now ?
anyways thanks for giving me an extra reason to root my flex 2. im really envy of my friends Z3 landscape mode.

can confirm wont work w/o root

No it wont work without root

Force dialer to default to favorites

Anyone know if there is a way to do this with stock app?
When i hit phone, it is annoying to always be on the dialer screen. Yes, I can speed dial a couple contacts, but I have a favorites list of 20 or so, and I would like to land there first.
Any ideas other then an alternate launcher? Would an alternate launcher even do this?
That was a nice feature of the iPhone. 99% of the time I am calling 1 of the people on my favorites list as well, this would be nice if it was possible.
I do not know if it is or not.
Would also appreciate this setting.
A work around that might be useful:
From your home screen find a screen that is fairly empty and long press like you are adding a widget. Select "Shortcuts" then select "Direct Dial" Choose someone from your contacts list. You now have a direct dial shortcut to that contact on your screen.

I actually did that. I even made my own icon that matched the Launcher Pro icons and added it to my dock. It direct dials my best friend.

Not a bad idea but not really a solution/work around for a shortcut to your top 10-20+ favorites.
I agree - not a good solution if you have many on a fav list. For a 2 or 3 I just use speed dial from the dialer.
Has anyone tried Dialer One?
(from the thread looking for an alternate dialer) I'm too new they don't trust me with linking to it.
Another possible alternative is to add a Folder Widget end select "Starred Contacts" from the list.

What app do you use to grab a screen shot?
Regarding Screen Cap:
If you are rooted there is a market app. Another way is to use the ddms.bat tool that is in the SDK - it launches the Dalvik Debug Monitor on your computer and this can do a screen cap (Menu - Device - Screen Cap)

no app when I took that. It was using the android sdk to do it. Guide on how to do it is found here: http://www.simplehelp.net/2009/07/21/how-to-take-screenshots-of-your-android-based-phone-from-windows/
Launcher Pro ( the paid version ) also has a favorites widget that will let you configure either full screen or 1x4.
Why not just use dialer one? You can do exactly this with dialer one + you can do so much more, like custom backgrounds and change all the text colors etc.
I just added the folder of starred contacts. Really nice, actually.

[APP] Standby Touch Advanced

I have developed this app a while ago when I was owning a Nexus device. I find it even more useful on my Note3 since having small hands its not comfortable to get to the Power button to put the phone to sleep. You may find it useless but at least it saves the Power button or helps when using a case.
HERE IS HOW TO USE IT
1. When the app is installed, for the first time the Settings screen will be shown. Simply press the Enable Admin Permission button and then drag the Stand by Icon from App's drawer where you want to have it. Each time you press the icon, the phone will go to standby.
2. If you want to use the Sleep Mode, go to Settings and press on the Zzzzz mode button. You can select which options to be disabled (Sound to Silent, Data Off, Wifi Off), on which interval of hours and how long the options will be displayed. If you check any of the options, next time you press the Standby icon, for a short period of time you will see 2 icons:
- the Sleep icon (with the moon) on it, if you press it, it will disable the options you have selected
- the Wake icon (with the sun) on it, if you press it, it will enable the options you have selected.
The icons are only displayed for the amount of time set by you. If you don't press any of them, the phone will go to standby as normal.

Thank you
Seems very usefull! There is no Bluetooth toggle is there? Cause I want to disable my gear when I am sleeping.. I do this by turning off bluetooth, and in the morning I turn it on again.. Any way you could add that?
Thank you guys for your words.
@Armazia: very good suggestion!. I have uploaded version 2.3 on Google Play which has Bluetooth toggle support So you can now easily switch Bluetooth off in the evening and back on in the morning. It should be available in a few hours.
Very nice
Thanks, new version 2.3 is live on Google Play.

[Idea] [Poll] Quick Settings in Android Wear!

Hi everyone!
Today I've created a mockup of my own idea: A Quick Settings interface for Wear!
As lots of other users out there, I hate to scroll 5-6 times to finally turn on airplane mode when I want to use my smartwatch as a watch only. This would be a much better and of course, faster option to turn settings on- and off quickly with only one slide...
Maybe we could add Location and theather mode to the bottom line, but as I see, three icons would do the job.

I hope if we create a bit of a hype Google will consider creating something like this in the M edition of Android Wear...
Anyway... Do you like the idea?
Looks cool. Doesnt 5.1.1 already have something similar?
No, it does not. This is especially annoying because you cannot use WiFi directly without putting the device in airplane mode first.
This is awesome and would be incredibly useful for me.

Why would you want to do this? Airplane mode disables interaction in the google apps. If you want to force wifi, better to turn bluetooth off on your phone.
The reason is if you want to use an app online. For instance, if you need a web browser or es file explorer on your watch. Bluetooth has no bearing. The system does not allow user apps to go online. There are two solutions (not one like I said before).
1, enable airplane mode, and then enable and connect to WiFi.
2, Put the app you want to have WiFi access in the system folder (I think both priv-app and app work).
Of course both have drawbacks, but that is the way it is right?

Apparently, like a lot of other solutions that have been found in android wear, there's an unofficial way to do things.
See web browser for a.w.
Looks awesome, maybe I'm slowly considering to get one of these petting watches
Yes please.
I like it ? should really be in it
yes please! I don't understand why google insists on coming up with a more "watch specific" interface for Wear, when scaling down vanilla android would have been a more familiar experience: pull down for toggles, swipe left/right to access your screens where you can deploy icons for quick launch apps, or one screen dedicated to notifications ala samsungs' touchwiz widgets page? I would pay for a mini version of Nova launcher on my watch.

Description:
There are 5 widgets in the application, there is no application interface itself.
2 widgets - transparent widgets, for locking the screen by double-clicking and single-clicking, respectively. (arbitrary size).
3 widgets - widgets in the form of a lock of different colors, for locking the screen by pressing. (1x1).
Tap on the application icon also blocks the screen, this was done for the general style under "Thematic icons", android 13 (Pixel)
Instruction:
1. Install the application.
2. Open system settings /Accessibility/DoubleTapWidget
warning will be issued,
press "OK".
3. Open system settings / applications / find in the list DoubleTapWidget / Click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner - "Allow settings changes", will ask for a password.
4. Again we go to point 2, but now you can activate the toggle switch
5. Go to the home screen, open the list of widgets, and select the desired widget.
Advantages:
1. The application does not consume battery as it uses a simple widget.
2. Without Root
3. Without any advertising.
Version: 1.2

Version: 1.2:
It skips the screen off animation. Is it possible to add it back? Maybe power off with root to achieve this?
I use this widget "Screen off - Widget & tile".

We don't have double tap to sleep on stock.
I always use double tap to sleep features that come with Nova Launcher. Great works, regardless

Is granting accessibility access to an app a safety concern?
