GPS Always on in background, draining battery? Help!

Gday guys, ive noticed when i use my gps, i think it stays on int he background. Like still tracking satts and keeping the locks...which is great if i want to use my gps.
But bad on battery life because it does take a huge toll on it.
Is there a program or somewhere i can check to see if my gps is activated and currently on?
Ie check if it is running in the background?

big battery consumption when texting??

i noticed a big battery consumption when i txt for 30 mins,(usually its every 5 mins a txt comes in then i instantly txt back) but i noticed after like 3-5 txt messages it goes down to 98% by the end of the hour of constant txt its around 83% or 80%
whats causing this leak?
is it cuz of the notification LED? i always shut off my phone after i txt and also i use the manila SMS app instead of WMs SMS app or can it be the signal im running on? im using WM LongLife which keeps the device at EDGE 98% of the time, and i also have no apps running in the background except Lumos which doesnt consumes much i believe?
someone please tell me a solution to this, thnx
Nothing special. The battery drains unevenly and when not in sleep and/or the screen is on it sure drains well
seriously? so theres nothing we can do to fix that? or minimize it?
You could try using a less intensive sms app, see how battery life is without manilla running.

Do you use a live wallpaper? Those are sometimes cpu heavy even when hidden.

mm-qcamera-daemon 15% Battery Drain!

Im on PA 4.4.5 Rom (Stable) and I have just noticed my battery was draining a bit more than usual. So I check my apps, nothing unusual, I check my battery and I see the process as listed in the title. It seems its a camera background process that continues to run, Assuming im a avid snapchat user thats why it started. Now I cant stop it. Ive flashed a new rom and back, wiped cache and I dont know what else to do! Anyone know a Fix?

Since you are avid snapchat user,,the only workaround is to reboot your phone. As long as you will be using snapchat (or Skype in some cases), you will face this problem.
Battery drain issue is because of a software process on the Android KitKat build that allows applications to access the device camera. The mm-qcamera-daemon process continues to run in the background even after the app using the camera has been force closed(like you mentioned) leading to persistent high CPU usage and battery drains faster.

[Q] Battery drain issue on Cyanogenmod 11

Hello guys
I recently installed Cyanogenmod 11 on my Xperia L and I noticed that the battery drains very fast compared to stock. I searched this problem and it appears to be a deep sleep issue, but i don't really found out how to solve it. My battery stats show a great consumption on Google Play services and Display, so I guess it fits the deep sleep problem. I tried disabling some services, but i don't really know which one since i am kinda noob at this.
If anybody could provide a clear and detailed solution, that would be great. Thank you.

Use the greenify app from playstore
I don't think that would solve much. I installed better battery stats and these are the ones causing battery drain:
Awake
Wifi On
Wifi Running
No Data Connection
No or unknown signal
All these have 100% at battery consumption. Greenify only allows me to put to hibernation apps like Facebook, Messenger or so.
So... any other ideas?
